Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Um… Halo: Arbiter, anyone?

> Please, Enough with the “You would have to re-download the .Map files” argument. We have had 70 pages of people disproving that.
>
> It was never a question of possibility. As the game developer’s they could add Promethean Knights or even the Mammoth to MM. For instance a few years ago if someone mentioned playing as the Flood they would be laughed at.
>
> So far we have received no valid reason for the Elite’s removal. And justifiably, were a tad upset.

I haven’t seen a single reason as to how it is possible, all I see is made up stuff because they want Elites, it technically isn’t possible with Halo’s engine.

Moa, as I’ve stated numerous times in the past, neither you nor I know how this new system works, at all. Period.

You are basing all of your replies (once again) on the system that Halo games used to use which is very viable to have changed. In fact, more so because clearly 343i and certain affinity had tried in the past, and would likely have made the game so it can happen in the future.

Look at everything in the game that has changed already, who’s to say this didn’t?

> As far as you know, moa.
>
> I’m just going to go ahead and say, it is obvious to everybody here, that 343i and Certain Affinity were testing armour DLC for Halo Reach. We also know this never happened, not entirely certain of all the reasons.
>
> However, if they were trying to do that in the first place, chances are they thought of it when developing Halo 4, and found a way to make it easier to do.
>
> It would seem logical. Microsofrt will want to get as much money out of halo as possible, and I know two certain favourite helmets and a certain species of alien that didn’t seem to make the cut for halo 4, that a lot of people would want back. It would be a great marketing technique. They’d act like they were listening to the community and bringing these things back, when really they’d planned it that way from the start.
>
> Think about it. What was the first helmet in halo? MK V. So, what would be their logic for not bringing it back. You would think it would be a dead giveaway right? But, somewhere down the road, when we’ve all forgot about it, Certain Affinity will bring out another DLC map. And what will we see?
>
> A spartan wearing MK V.
>
> It would be a great marketing technic. Maybe bring back one of the classic maps (possibly Blood Gulch) and bam! People would buy it.
>
> But thats just my theory. If they’d try to do it in the past, they will try to do it agian, and this time they would make sure it worked.

> Um… Halo: Arbiter, anyone?

Thats so,ething we ouaght to see get made. but Halo 5 will hopefully bring Thel into the battle.

AAAAAAARRRGGHHHHH Moa you have been given several reasons from several people! What hasn’t happened is you haven’t come up with any actual reasons why it can’t please just drop it is getting old!

Even if they couldn’t be added to other maps from the .map files (which may or may not be a problem >.>) they could still be added to the maps of all future DLCs and not the maps that were available at launch. And with that being said I think the best thing they could do would be to add 13 maps as DLC that have elites playable on them.

Anyways a ‘Halo: Arbiter’ would be cool, and while I somewhat doubt it will happen it would still be a nice refresher from this generic space marine vs characterless evil aliens that 343 seems to be doing now…

Ah, I see.

So you think we have just been spewing reasons just because we are desperate? (Not really the correct word, but nevertheless, same point)

No. We are disappointed with 343’s decisions. And we should be able to voice our opinions, and reasons for their inclusion.

I’m sorry, but it seems that it is you who is “making stuff up”. Either to try to keep your opinions of 343 high (which is understandable, if this didn’t affect me so much, I would probably be in the same position. Which I am in other subjects of “whining”, for example the matchmaking changes.), or you are trying to find reasons to keep our elites out. Unless I see evidence to the contrary, I will take back my submission to your points.

It is us that have not gotten enough reasons to why they are not included. The only possible reasons that has been stated was the “multi-player canon” (which still seems to be self-contradictory) and possibly a lack of memory space/time. You have also not stated your sources as to why it would not be possible as DLC (It is a long shot that it is possible, I know, but you still haven’t stated your evidence.).

Oh, and btw, your answer for elites not being in Infinity simulations because they were “taller than the Spartan IVs, so even trying to simulate a Spartan IV as an Elite wouldn’t work, remember these aren’t holograms or anything like that, these are real people.” did not take into account monitors in forge.

A Halo: Arbiter would be very nice. Arbiter missions in Halo 2 were awesome. But it wouldn’t be profitable, it would only be those inside the Sangheili community or those who enjoy the storyline that would enjoy it. And there aren’t many of those people, unfortunately, compared to the competitive fanbase… :frowning:

not true either, I herd the Competitive community is a minority to. most fans stand somewhere on the grey line of these other fanbases.

and again the only reaosn why ther eout is because of canon, the MP’s story might take palce somewhere else in the next 2 games.

The canon excuse is blown out the window the the inclusion of flood in multiplayer. Basicly I see no real reason why they aren’t in it and at this point I’m debating if they have decided to go down the ‘generic space marine’ route.

I agree with that, like you just said, it would be like ODST all over again: a great idea, but will not be profitable. However, before ODST was made, Bungie wanted to do a storyline for Elites, but the community instead was rather interested in the ODST than them. The idea may return at a later time, but like they say, never say never.

Also, it would flesh out the halo universe much more. 343i could cover every Arbiter (or key characters) in the Covenant, however, as a matter of fact, the only problem that I see that could be a problem are the weapons and the gameplay, I dunno if energy swords or the other Covenant arsenals were even developed yet (or the energy shields O.O). Imagine playing as the Arbiters’ who tamed the hunters, or stopped the Grunt rebellion. It will fill the gaps in the Covenant’s shaky history.

LOL it sounds like some one cloned me!

I wort wort wort Elites. I think out of all alien species in science fiction they are my favorite. I was bummed out when I found out that they wouldn’t be in multiplayer because that meant no more Dino Blasters or Invasion. Please make the plight of the Elites known to 343 and the Halo community. If we don’t help them, who will?

Perhaps in the Halo franchise. Overall, the number of competitive players in video games have near enough always outnumbered those who play mostly for story. Remember, 343 would want money from a project such as this. Playing only as an alien does not really fit into what most people want at the moment, which is sad.

Again, canon reasons:

> (which still seems to be self-contradictory)

> The canon excuse is blown out the window the the inclusion of flood in multiplayer.

And don’t forget monitors in forge. The reasons for their inclusion in Infinity simulations could have been attributed to elites as well. Had they been included.

the Flood are a part of the simulation, in training, its basicaly teaching a spartan how to kill a flood, Think of it as getting prepaired for “pandemic” (correct me if I Mispelled that) the monitors I don’t know about that itself could’ve ben something for the sake of forge, and no matter what people say someone by the name of josh holmes said: "the MP’s Story takes place on Infinity" and for all we know Halo 4 could’ve ebn an expirement to see how fans ould react, they knew poeple where gonna get upset with all the changes in from the April 7th Game Informer Article. and the news on elites was one there.

besides what answer are you looking for?, The Elites might be playable in Halo 5, plus the only way Elties could be playable is either A, The Elites are having there Civl wars or B something else like a group of Elite Minors (Blue Team) training against their Elite Major CO’s (Red Team) then again Elite minors wouldn’t be wearing any Armor except for the combat harness

Remember, 343 would want money from a project such as this. Playing only as an alien does not really fit into what most people want at the moment, which is sad.

But that’s the thing, for all they know the flood are dead and gone, why train to fight an extinct enemy when there is another one trying to impale you with their energy sword?

But from the looks of it they might be in halo 5 if the storm is also fighting the rest of the covenant… buut if they should have been in halo 4 as well then it may not happen…

But I think if they did the same thing with halo 5 as in halo 2 it would turn out very well, I’d love to play as the arbiter again.

From what I herd the Storm Covenant are the ones who still belive in the Journey, I think the arbiter is against them.

and nope the Flood are not finished, Which is why this can become in handy sense flood are an equivelint to a real life threat, such as a disease.

and yes playing as the arbiter will sound like a good idea.
