'Mdama’s armor looks like a cross between a Zealot and Venator armor with Forerunner lights. Looking at the Elite talking to 'Mdama close to the end of the video I’m comparing all the other Elite Storm armor to this one so this is an Ultra Storm rank.
Jul actually does look pretty sweet. Zealot armor is excellent too.
But for the people saying the Covenant not being the main threat anymore constitutes removing Elite’s from MM, the Flood is temporarily extinct and they are in MM. That point is moot.
I speculate the true reasons Elite’s are no longer playable is due to 343’s attempts to demonize them, remove our sympathy from them and their story. That is why in Glasslands and The Thursday War they are portrayed as savages, because 343 currently needs them to be our enemy’s once more.
Perhaps once the Didact returns and humanity realizes they shouldn’t have alienated their ally’s. The plot might have need of “good” Sangheili again like The Arbiter and Rtas 'Vadum.

Though I agree that they might have been taken out so we wouldn’t feel guilty whenever we kill them in campaign, glasslands and thursday war did anything but remove our sympathy. It showed you that they were intelligent being with families and lives. It even shows why Jul is so pissed at humanity.
Anyways, there is also a “good” side of elites and why shouldn’t we be able to get involved with their story by playing as them? I hope we get to play as hinge-heads again someday.

If that’s the case, Thursday War and Glasslands should never have been written.
oh k, what did i miss
a new terminal, flood gametype confirmed, progression revealed, the mech now playable in both campaign and in multiplayer… man, if elites were playable, i would have been more happy then all of these combined
The whole standard is that the Halo community thrives off of being an innovator, doing things that may seem small, but in the end, they play the biggest role, such as elites. Sure they aren’t necessary but it’s like if they took away emblems or such, you don’t actually need them, but they are there for you to customize yourself with.
Plus the argument of “They can now add more customization!” is quite invalid because by what I’ve seen most of the customization is disgustingly ugly, and the other half is just skins. It feels like they are just trying to justify one thing by destroying another, and even though the game will arguably still be good in the end, it would still be a nice touch if we had the option to play as an alien race instead of human vs human all the time. =/

They aren’t even really justifying it at this point, flood mode kinda ruins the excuse they used…
Honestly, and this may sound silly, but I feel like 343 is following Bungie’s trilogy formula:
Halo CE was simple, had very few vehicles, and no elites.
Halo 2 introduced more vehicles, more insight into the Elites’ perspective in the Campaign, and made them playable in multiplayer.
Halo 3 goes all out and gives both Spartans and Elites armor customization, and full access in both Campaign and Multiplayer.
I feel like this trilogy will follow the same pattern:
Halo 4 won’t have Elites, and hasn’t added a lot of new vehicles, other than Mantis and Elephant 2.0 (still unconfirmed if playable for MM).
Halo 5 will have more insight into the Sangheili’s perspective, and make them playable in MM, and will add crazier vehicles.
Halo 6: etc; more of everything.
I have my bets on Elites getting a big spotlight in Halo 5.

I don’t know, the Covenant and UNSC were the focus of the original Trilogy. The UNSC and the Forerunners are the focus of the Reclaimer trilogy. In Halo 5, I would expect some sort of single Elite skin and then playable Prometheans. I think it would be cool to be able to get to play a Elite in Halo 5 only if you pre-order the special/collector/whatever edition.

Eh, it’s true that the UNSC will have to deal with the Didact, but it isn’t so far “UNSC vs Forerunners” because the Forerunners are extinct. The apparent boss threat is the Didact, yes, but the Storm, a Sangheili organization, is the more immediate threat. I still feel like Elites will play a pivotal role in the Reclaimer trilogy.

The Prometheans are technically Forerunners.
Elites probably do still play a significant role, but I fell their time will soon come to an end.
I personally feel that Halo 5 will show the Elites from a new angle like inn Halo 2 and change the way the plot will steer towards and display the fate of Avu Med Telcam, Thel Vadaam, and Sanghelios.

The Prometheans so far only stay on Requiem to guard the planet, while the Storm will probably make up the bulk of the enemy for Halo 5, since 5 will probably take place outside of Requiem.

Didact is also the enemy but we’ll find out why. As for the Storm Faction it seems they will be in big trouble once Sangheilios finds out. Jul is already betraying his own people by making a faction and breaking the treaty that Sangheilios agreed on to make peace with Humanity so basically Jul is gonna be hunted down by Thel and Rtas along with their ships they command. Knowing Kig-yar however I’m sure if the Arbiter puts a bounty on Jul’s head, the Kig-yar will see that as a prize. Kig-yar will love to take that opportunity to get the reward money for themselves. To the Sangheilis, Jul is a traitor in their eyes and a discrace to his people.

Humans broke the peace treaty by MAC blasting 'Vadam into the ocean. 'Nuff said.

I really hope your right, that would be a dream come true
> Today I bought Halo 2 from amazon and I noticed something. Under the product features it said “Take the action online with your Xbox Live and switch sides, to become a Covenant Elite!” Playable elites is something that attracted new players. I have even noticed that many of the elite players i come accross are lower levels. Being able to play as Sangheili separates halo from the rest of the crowd. It makes the game uniqe and people want to try it out. The flood adds a little diversity but not like the elites in H2 and H3. It was a choice wether you wanted to be an elite or a spartan and you were never forced to play one or the other. I hope this will return to halo someday, but until then we just have to keep telling 343 what we want.
>
> BRING ELITES BACK 343!!!
They will never take elites from me. Elites, elites everywhere as one game of multiplayer on Halo 2 PC seemed like it had more elite players than spartans. So, 343 what’s with ignoring one of the most dedicated fan bases in Halo? If Halo 5 is Spartan only and has no elites, I most likely wont buy it.
So 343 do you want a part of the Halo community to just go away? It seems like it. Just because we don’t like to play as Spartans does not mean we aren’t Halo fans. Why do you hate us 343?

im not sure about accuracy… but take my brothers as an example…
we are 4, and when halo 2 came out… one of us always played as elites (me), 2 played as a spartan sometimes and as an elite sometimes, and the last was dead sticking to playing as a spartan… so apparently, the statistics say, few people play as spartans all the time, few as elites, but most like the freedom to change between them, allowing them to choose what they would like, so removing elites from MM is like disapointing 75 percent of the community.
Want to satisfy a large portion of the community…simple, bring back the elites in halo 5…if its already too late for halo 4
