Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Even RvB had elites at a couple of points, they weren’t huge to the series of course, but they did leave their mark.

Tuckers Sword?

But I mean some of the other series ^Like Arbiters RoTS (the guy I was replying to) that have elites as a main/secondary antagonist. They were just something nice to see outside of Human V Human. Of course now we have flood, which will be fun, but a massive plot point and useful creature/species has just been lost.

Many machinimas will just be human vs human, which can get boring at times…

> > I have to agree, While the inclusion of the Flood in MP is really awesome it completely destroys any credibility 343 had for removing Elite’s entirely.

Well…

> To remind everyone out there from what we have seen so far SIV’s stand at the same height as master chief which is around 8’5/8’6 which is the height of the elites meaning we could have have this with both forces standing at native elite height in reach. Basicly this is what we want to see, and we want it to be completely the same (except for GUI artistic differences):

>
> I beg the community to stop blindly hating elites, all the Sangheili community want is the ability to play as elites 24/7 7 days a week, but we don’t want super powers we want the exact same rules: Same jump height, same bullet damage, same reload time. We want equality! Because only through equality can anyone ever be skilled. We are competitive players; we just prefer the Elites and their methods of making war.

Since this post spartan IV’s have been confirmed at the height of 7 feet and the smallest Sangheili male is 7’5" - less than the size of a magnum of difference. Simply make all Sangheili MP models 7’5". There is no “it is unbalanced” argument that can be made.

Well we have flood now, and just because elites aren’t in Halo 4 MP does not necessarily mean that machinima quality will go down, that’s down to the director. And with all the new things that we have in Halo 4, if people utilize them correctly I believe Halo 4 will have some of the best machinimas Maybe if we’re lucky 343 might have put 2 or 3 elite models in forge or something.

> And I slightly agree with that, invasion was a fun gametype, and limiting elites to only that is probably the reason they were removed. It would be too much work to only use them for one gametype.

But making Flood models isn’t too much work just for one game type? They already have the elite models, all they would really have to do is develop a HUD.

The flood is just a skin, not a model. Its the spartan IV model with a skin over top.

No special weapons, no new model, nothing, just a skin.

A skin is a model. It’s a model that is applied over an existing model. Much like the different elite armors. It indeed does have new geometry and would take time to develop. Again, I think my point stands. After all they already have the elite models.

No, a model would involve a completely new hitbox and design, whearas this is just basically another layer. It alters nothing but the looks.

I will agree with the fact they already have the elite models. But we’ve lost the elites, yes, this is sad, but at least say thank you for them giving us the flood. I know its not much, but its what we have, and we’re just going to have to live with that.

I wouldn’t be happy if we could play as the Forerunners let alone the Flood, I want my elites!

The Flood skin is still is a model by that has to be rendered. While it’s not a necessarily a new player-model, by the definition of 3D modeling, it is a model.

I’ll guess I will just have to play Halo 2, 3, or Reach if I want to play as an elite. Halo 4 multiplayer looks good, but it doesn’t feel the same to me. Even from Halo: CE which had no playable elites (except by mods) but I still enjoyed it.

Let’s hope 343 brings them back in Halo 5 multiplayer!

Why should I say thank you for something I didn’t want in the first place? “Thank you for adding in something that was an offhand topic for the past few games while you took away something solid that formed 1/3rd of the halo community since some of the first halo ce mods.” Yeah, thanks, I’ll remember to laugh when halo goes out with a whimper too.

Can you not make up numbers & statistics?

Doesn’t exactly help you make your point.

you know, this is getting pretty pointless. I actually like that 343 allowed flood to be playable. I always wanted that since halo 3. So i thank them for that. But, yes i would also like elites to be playable as well, and you guys saying there was a reason i didnt see, im killing myself now. No matter what the reason, we have to aim to get them in in halo 5. lets get to work instead of discussing nonsense of canon. I really think this is a (SCI FI) Ficion Game. So canon is fake, and could be made up. So we are gonna convince 343 to think of someway to involve elites in multiplayer as canon. Ill give a good idea soon

Hope so. I mean the Flood is cool…but…no Elites. I guess playing Reach or Halo 3 is best choice if I wanna be an Elite and play less on Halo 4 since I’m interested in the story.

I never play as them but I do hope they return in the future for those who like them.

There has already been multiple suggestions to how 343i could fit Elite in the story, but we don’t know how Spartan Ops or the future Halo games will pan out the story and trying to include it in Halo 4 might wreck their future plans for Elites.

Time will tell.

Because in my opinion, even if that thread was posted two years ago and was a pinned topic in whatever halo 4 discuision there could have been, I don’t think it would change anything.

I think 343i had already planned to not have elites in multiplayer, maybe from balance issues, who know. I sure don’t, and I’ve been here from the start.

I know this isn’t what we wanted, but we aren’t getting elites, unfortuneate, yes, but at this point we can’t change it. We may as well be happy with the fact that we do infact have another playable species, if only in one gametype. It sucks, I know, and if you ask me it makes no sense, but thats just how it is.

Yes it sucks, but we can’t change that dude. I’m just as dissapointed as you are, you know that, but maybe this just isn’t where 343i wanted to go with halo, or maybe it just didn’t work this game.

The moment a Halo 5 section opens up, we’ll start another elite thread there. For now, we’ll have to live with what we got, and at least be happy that we have something that isn’t human to spice up gameplay and machinimas.

Really? That’s all you took from that? 1/3 is a good estimate of how large the sangheili community is, and even then pointing out that there is an obviously large sangheili community as opposed to the flood community, that’s not made up. Show me a thread with over 5k posts on it asking for elites to be playable.

This forum does not make up even a small part of the Halo community, also, 5,000 posts?

Most of those posts are from the same group of people, and let alone 5,000 makes up the 1,000,000+ playing Reach on launch day and the hundreds of thousands who have pre-ordered Halo 4.

Once again, can you not make up numbers & statistics, it doesn’t help make your point any clearer.

you know, they could at least kept some version of invasion for the elites… seriously

Overall, this is probably one of the biggest threads. Until ot was moved to general discussions, it was most likely the largest thread discussing Halo 4. I think that means a lot. I know the number of posts compared to the number of halo players makes this seem small, but of all the halo players how many sign into waypoint and post on the threads regularly? And of those people, how many have seen this thread? We havn’t gotten much new blood since it isn’t in the catagory of halo 4. And look, it’s still alive even after they we’re confirmed out and all this time has past. This thread shows that a lot of people want elites back and how dedicated we all are. We want playable Elites back in halo, so we are going to keep telling 343 this.

BRING ELITES BACK 343!!!

That’s right we won’t give up until the very last breath! The Sangheili spirit lives on Halo!!
