> > > > > > > > > > Well if it’s a waste of time and resources better spent on better things then why not get rid of armor customization altogether? It’s really unnecessary and unessential to Halo. I mean it wasn’t in Halo CE, hell it wasn’t even in Halo 2. Armor color and an emblem is enough. That way more time can be spent on actual game mechanics instead of aesthetic knickknacks.

> No I was originally saying to remove it altogether. My argument was: if their excuses for removing elites was because it took up time and resources better spend somewhere else then, why not get ride of armor customization altogether? It in retrospect it adds nothing to the game. It’s a 1st person shooter you can’t even see your character when you play so what does it matter? If it was a 3rd person shooter then I might
> understand. If you got rid of the customization then they could use the time and resources gained to add better elements to the game, mechanics things that actually make a difference.
> And for the Machinima argument, people have also argued that limitations help make Machinima interesting because it forces the directors to be creative. RvB did fantastic without the armor customization.
> And keeping the armor customization doesn’t really help anyone either. The only people that it seems to benefit is MS and the developers so they can make exclusive retailer and edition deals to help them rake in more cash.
All RvB managed to do was change armour colour to differentiate the characters, hardly that creative
Regardless, this is just moving away from the original discussion, I’m out.
What I think this conversation was originally meant to discuss was that being an elite is mostly cosmetic, and so is customizing your armor. We elite fans like to look like an elite when we play, just as spartan players like to look like a super soldier in BA armor. It gives you a kind of identity in matchmaking. There isn’t anything bad about looking different even when its as drastic as a different species. People will look different in halo 4 even without elites. Some of us would just like to look like an elite an elite rather than a spartan, just as some people would rather wear an EOD helmet than Recon.

Agreed. I play both as Elite and Spartan I don’t have a problem with playing both but it seems to me alot of Spartan lovers want to stay as a human in a robot suit and kill their own human kind and not Covenant. Customizing armor on both species is fun you earn achievements and credits. Halo 3 was more challenging on both armor sets for both Elites and Spartans.

To be perfectly honest, although I’m more into Spartans I occasionally would play as an Elite on Halo 3, Reach however killed that for me as I enjoy the ability to customize my characters and I was not happy with the limited options that were presented for elites, if they are going to be brought back for 5, they should be customizable once again.

That was pretty straight foward…
Yes, where are the other Sangheili on this website…show them to glory!!!

Actually no they didn’t; they said they weren’t in halo 4 which is completely different to saying that they will never return as a playable race.
Sadly we would have settled for custom game only or lobby profile, I don’t think spartans would respond the same if the spartan model was removed. And people call us fanboys lol

I really don’t think anyone that prefers playing as a Spartan would care either way. I play tons of games where I am not a Spartan.
We’re not getting Halo 5 details so soon, so there is no way to know if Elites will return or not.

The itch scratch was in referral to the Invasion gametype, not necessarily Elites.

well heres a thought, maybe they wanted the Elites to be playable and make canon for the MP at the same time, but I guess they couldn’t find a way to make it work. it was probably very difficult to make the Elites fit in to the current MP story, while showing a reason why reds and blues where fighting eachother.

Me, Fos Kusvol and a few others have the impression that kiki mistook invasion for infection because of how she referred to it later as a game type that has been around for a long time and is integral to the halo experience. Either way it is still interesting to think about what “scratch that itch” pertains to.

Not sure what they mean we could probably hear sometime later in the future before or after when Halo 4 comes out. Whatever the case they said about this ‘scratch that itch’ for Elites, it maybe a surprise for us Elite fans. All we can do is wait and see when we get our hands on in Halo 4. For now all we can do is wait.

I’d rather die as a Sangheili then live as a false god!
