Granted, but so far, all they have told us directly is that they won’t be playable, period. I’d settle for any reason really. But rather than just leaving us in the dark (and I know we got a half answer from the GI article, but once again, thats the GI article) they should at least take ten seconds to tell us why…
Anyway, I know what you mean about the story, and I get that, but a lot of people don’t, which is the problem.

thats because there not following the development of the game as much as we are. some of them do know it, they just don’t wanna think of it like that.
I don’t care if elites arn’t playable in matchmaking I just want to be able to play as them in custom games and forge. THIS GOES OUT TO 343 INDUSTRIES DO NOT SCREW ALL US ELITE FANS OVER IT WILL PROVE THAT BUNGIE WAS BETTER THAT YOU!
My hopes are dying down already for Elites in Halo 4 not just because they’ll be unplayable, but what the game it self is gonna turn into. I just saw this from the new McFarlene toy line already for Series 2 to be released. Here’s the link: Spoiler
The link provides more info including new Covenant weapons yet not heard of. The Promethean Knight is cancelled on being made into the toy line possibly later on. To me just by looking at the Elite and Jackal, it seems Halo 4 is beginning to look more like Mass Effect style and not CoD like we all feared. Seems Halo 4 will be the ‘Mass Effect clone’.

lets not go all “its the clone of this or that” again please. I left the forum for a month because of that before.
Anyway, I hate the look of the jackal, I mean it looks great, but its a piranha with a body, not a jackal.
As for the elite, I can live with that. The look was interesting but not terrible.

there ss till Halo 5, and Halo 2 anniversery hascan give you the Elite feel until Halo 5 comes around.
Personally, the fact that we wouldn’t be able to play as elites in MM doesn’t bother me as much as that it implies that there is no Invasion.
If invasion IS in, even if it’s the only way to play as them, i’d be happy.

We all knew it, but this confiremd are thoughts, sense the rest of Elites don’t want to start a fight after 5 years of fighting. (no society would want to evan 5 years after a great war ended).
Technically the UNSC broke the treaty due to taking jul prisoner, so it doesn’t matter anyway.

They confirmed them to be rogues, not the elties that helped them in Halo 3.
I would just like to voice my own opinion here and help reiterate how vital Elites are to the Halo sandbox and community.
Elites provide an entire race of characters for Machinimas that would be lacking if Elites are not playable.
I’m excited to see what other species we can play as next, but I’m also concerned that it will not be a substitute for the Elites. This is my biggest concern with Halo 4 at this time, and is almost the deciding factor of whether or not I’ll be playing this game or not.

if you rmemeber the multiplayer focused on spartan IV’s no other species will be playable. and the reason why the MP focuses on spartan IVs is because of the story takeing place on the infenity
Yeah. You do know there are still many Sangheili clans 343i, don’t you?. To not put them in Halo 4 would just piss off allot of people. I know this from experience. I myself run a Sangheili only clan called the Warriors of Sangheilios. We do want to play as Spartans. We can do that in Campaign & Spartan Ops. But seriously 343i, put Elites in Halo 4 Matchmaking. Do it for “YOUR” die-hard fans. Live up to the expectations that have been put upon you.

I will still buy Halo 4 and play it, but it still will not be the same with “my” elite gone. My first name for xbox was Arbiter and it was because i was a elite fan. I enjoyed playing as my elite in every halo game. Taking elites from us is like taking our hearts out. XP

personally if you want elites in Halo 5 I’d say stick around for Halo 4, that way they can be playable again.

The Elites play a vital role just as Jelly plays the partner to Peanut butter in a sandwich, either way your gonna end up -Yoink!- off a lot of people who like jelly and are unable to like peanut butter. Elites have always made Halo what it is, the ability to play as an alien being against playing just as humans. I am happy there are still people fighting this situation
