well we are all being forced to play as spartans…
No one should be forced to play as anything. But currently this community is having Spartans shoved down our throat’s. Our identity’s in Halo being forced on us.
To me Spartan’s are boring, I am a Human why would I want to play as one in a Sci-Fi game.

Anyways, while in an antique shop I found a small jade orb, and on closer inspection I found it fit the description of an Arum almost perfectly… but there was one problem, some of the inner orbs were broken, now when I go back if its still there I’m going to get it- I don’t think its going anywhere, it was on a top shelf covered in dust.
But yes on the subject of spartan 4’s its like 343 is so overwhelmed with joy that they finally have the halo franchise they are waving their new addition to it around screaming “Look what I made! :D” Like a 5 year old (To put it bluntly), its really not impressive and doesn’t add anything to the canon that we couldn’t have lived without, all in all the Infinity is just a giant plot device to find the cheif (Which they didn’t even need because Covenant ships have “Luminaries” to find forerunner artifacts).
Now they are just shoving they 2nd rate story writing down our throats forcing us to eat this pig swill.
Well I’m done with my rant, still makes me upset that 2/4ths of the community forgets about elites even existing the moment they aren’t in MM.

I agree, even if we do start a campaign, I doubt 343 would listen. With all the interest halo 4 is getting from people who have never played the game, due to the changes in multiplayer most likely. The elites will probably be forgotten as only a small fraction of the community will care, in comparison to the big new wave of ‘halo 4 fans’. This sucks big time. I miss bungie.
If were gonna talk about how they should be implemented. I say there should be a Hybrid system of Halo’s 2-3 and Reach.
Functionally they should be equivalent to Spartan’s in every way. (except for Invasion, there uniqueness was part of the fun.) And they should be banned in SWAT and MLG.
Yes I know alot of you will disagree saying they should not be banned in any playlist, however we have to be willing to make concession’s to other community’s for their support. Particularly the competitive community. Also because their argument for no Elite’s falls apart when you just say “Ban them from SWAT”
It would be a small price to pay for the return of the Sangheli.

Oh god, I love antigue shops… So many awesome things just waiting to be found. I once found a working, pacman arcade machine in one. I rgret not having coins at the time.
Anyway, I don’t blame them for making the spartan IVs look flashy. A great majority of the community plays as spartan, so they wan’t to appeal the the majority of the people.
The problem I have, is the fact that they haven’t really given us much thought. I’m glad they finally told us the elites were out (I know that was a long time ago now) and I’m glad they are going to put something in to ‘Scrath that itch’, but it still feels like they may be shoving a spartan Identity down your troat without even giving us an actual explanation as to WHY the elites are gone and IF there is a possibility of their future return…
I can live with the story, still angry, but I can live with it. What I can’t live with is that they don’t seem to give us a thought.
I hope we can get DLC, but the moment a Halo 5 section opens up (in the next two years) my first thread will be a motion for elites in halo 5 if we do not get them in halo 4.

I remember when this thread was first posted before they announced elites were not playable and on the very first page we had created a way of balancing the Sangheili player models with Spartans. The very first page. And after about 50 or so pages when people started to not bother reading the first page let alone the thread, the players that hated elite models that had staked out this thread started rolling in “elite models can’t be balanced get rid of them” knowing full well we had a solution on the first page. Oh and for all those people that say elites can never work valve would like a word with you

what explanation do you want? gameplay reasons? they said the MP focused on Spartan IV’s because that was part of the canon if it was gameplaty they wouldn’t add Elties in the next 2 games, think about that. they wanted to try and add story to the MP wich would evolve overtime and might give Elites there chance in Halo 5.
yeah i agree! i am mostly a spartan player on REACH simply because there are so few games in which you play as Elites, but i have always favourd the elites above EVERY other speicies in the game including the humans and Jhon 117 himself.
but the problem in multiplayer is that it is all holographicly genarated to train the new spartan 4s… so there is no way to add elites to this, BUT why cant they add elites as playable in the custom games/forge area of the game so that Machinimas and vidios can be made much better and show the elites as they truly are, HUGE, and almost unstopable, also as to scaling them down, i feel it would only confuse fans and raise hate, if playable i think they should be aloud to be as HUGE as the 8-9ft tall beasts they are, and unlike REACH in which the only difrence was size and speed, they should be taller, and have a much stronger hit than spartans in customgames and campain, plus unlike REACH you should be able to rank up your elite at the same time in multyplayer then use him in customgames and the higher your rank elite the better the sheilds just like in campain.

I think the elites are okay in the height there in now. especialey sense people are saying the spartan IV’s are shorter than III’s, Still I’d be more happy if they where playable, but maybe when Halo 2 anniversy comes in we can get our temporary fix for elites in the campaign.
I liked how the elites were different from the spartans in reach. They were taller and slightly faster and sheilds recharged slightly faster. Spartans and elite4s may have there own matchmaking playlist but still be playable in custom games. together,
I read that bungie only aloud microsoft to continue halo if the elites were not in matchmaking so it is more than likely bungies fault we can’t play as elites
