Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Your Halo 4 career focuses on your Spartan IV, not Elites, and considering the multiplayer is all simulations aboard the UNSC Infinity, Elites have no place there.

An unfortunate reason though.

So many ways they COULD have elites there, but instead take them out altoghether (besides their minor Campaign and spartan ops roles.)

Ah well, such is life.

well look, if the MP wasn’t given canon they would’ve had elties be playable from the start, they knew fans wouldn’t like the Elites being taken out of MP. but don’t worry halo 5 is still possible.

Still might have not been the case, Halo 4 is focused on the Spartan IVs, if they didn’t give them a whole Infinity back story, your career would still have been focused on your Spartan IV.

Yup… still loopholes to be exploited in that one… Anything involving the infinity or training simulation has an exploit and or loophole that could easily be used.

Too late into development now. But had they taken word 3 and half months ago (before first look vidoc) when this thread was originally posted, then maybe we could have had elites…

Oh well, halo 5 ladies and gents, halo 5.

Would have been a nice change, considering it is all set six months after the single player and canon isn’t exactly set in stone until the game goes gold.

Definitely woulda been a great change

But from what I saw of spartan ops (which isn’t much as I am trying to avoid seeing the new enemy because I like surprises) were the elites not still enemies? And spartan ops is after the campaign as well is it not?

Spartan Ops is set six months after the single player events of Halo 4, but I believe Spartan Ops are also nothing more than simulations, meaning that some Elites may still be enemies, but other factions, more noticeable the Arbiter’s side, could be friendly still, but we honestly won’t know until the story is revealed to us.

That to,

What even made 343 think their fans would rather have cannon in multiplayer than playable elites. They’ve been in since halo 2. Why take them out now? I am really disappointed with there disision.

BRING ELITES BACK 343!!!

343 didn’t think fans wanted cannon in Multiplayer, they wanted to include cannon.

evan if we the fans wanted cannon we still would’ve wanted Elties to be included in some form, 343 wanted this. some fo you may call it a lame excuse but, but it’s the only reason, Elites might likley get included in the next game don’t worry.

I completely agree.

I don’t find all this ‘canon multiplayer’ AT ALL necessary and neither does anybody I’ve ever spoken to, in fact, we’d prefer if it was just like previous Halo game’s multiplayer.

I definitely think taking out Elites is a mistake, unless they have a suitable replacement. But I don’t think anything can replace Elites.

If you post on these forums often, you’re probably a pretty big fan of halo and are more willing to spend your money on halo goodies (I myself and thinking about getting the console). A smaller part of these people are elite players, and look at how much support they have given this thread. A lot of people want playable elites back and if they get them, it will make them a lot moe excited for the game. 343 should want to satisfy these guys the most.

> BRING ELITES BACK 343!!!

Ok something clearly isn’t getting through to you here. I am pro-elite, I will continue to state my opinions on multiplayer and I know for a fact after talking to a lot of people who will buy halo 4 when previously they had no interest in halo. The one thing above all else that was keeping them from enjoying the games MP was its unrealism, specificity aliens in MP. And since most (around three-quarters) of the elite fan base are already on waypoint we have a ridiculously high chance of causing the same amount of demand if Sangheili were taken out then as if they were left in. The fact is removing elites opened a huge casual market which could even make halo 4 the most successful halo game ever. I already made a post on what 343 has done to appease this new market whether it directly comes into conflict with their hardcore market (everyone on waypoint pretty much) or not.

Since we are equally as likely to create demand for halo 4 without elites and their removal from the player sandbox increases the casual market why should 343 care about us? They already have our support whether we like it or not.

Huh, they moved the thread to General Discussion. Don’t know if thats good or bad. I mean the more recent users head towards Halo 4 forums, but the more devoted users on this site like to dwell in General Discussion. Only time will tell.

It wasn’t market, elties where out because Halo 4’s <P focuses on spartans so there not in this one.

I just can’t believe this would be moved to the General Discussion thread. We are given the cold shoulder now. We voiced our opinion and hopes on the Elites to be brought into Halo 4 by putting this in the Halo 4 thread so they can hear us, instead we given a slap on the face and bring it here to the General Discussion thread. I know 343 is indeed listening to us but still didn’t need to move this here and not in the Halo 4 thread. I would rather hear it from reliable sources first like Anoj or Waypoint before moving it and not upset Elite fans.

Its not like moving this thread to General Discussion is a way to kill off the thread… People go in these threads as well in fact there are a lot of people here who post regularly. This no longer pertains to Halo 4 seeing as Its too late for elites to be added. Perhaps when the Halo 5 forums come to life this may be moved there. For now, the general discussion forums are more than suitable for this thread.

Its better than locking the thread, this isn’t silencing anyone, its just moving it to a more appropriate forum. H4 is going gold without elites and there is nothing that can be done about it for H4. H5 is a different story.

Spartan ops are the real
Missions you train for in war games canon wise. The real deal.

@someguytalkingaboutAnoj, you want Anoj to make a video saying that the thread will be moved to general discussions? What?

Going to point out, there are waaaaaayyyyy better and nicer people in the general discussions forum than in the Halo 4 forum…

This was the only place remotely suitable for the thread to fit as we are no longer discussing halo 4, but the trilogy as a whole. The only other place this thread would fit is matchmaking. But matchmaking is more to discuss halo reach and halo 4, so we’re lost there.

Anyway, we probably shouldn’t be talking about this, we aren’t supposed to question moderator decisions.

They are not simulations. Frank O’Connor described them as “Away missions” and that War Games was training for Spartan Ops.
