> Many elite clans will stay on halo reach or halo 3 if elites are not in halo 4. My clan is supporting this thread, but there is a slim chance we will get what we want. In a ‘spartan supremacist’ halo community, there is not much room left for elites, unfortunately.

Thats one of this community’s prime issues “Spartan Supremacy” 343i should add an equal amount of customization and optimization quantity and quality wise for the Sangheili.
You realise the amount of fanrage backlash that would entail, right?
I sincerely hope 343 will rise above simply indulging the ignorant and prejudiced.

soo… are you for or against? Because it sounds either way at the moment…

Because he has an elite avatar, I’d say that he is with us.
I’d expect that if 343 took out Elites, there would be a huge backlash from the community, even those who play as Spartans. I don’t really think that they would take out Elites, but we must fight on until they confirm (or deny) it.
> Its awesome to see a mix of Spartans and Elites on both sides in the multiplayer battlefield, I wish Halo: Reach matchmaking allowed a mix.
The reason Reach MM can’t is because elites are a little faster in basic movement speed. My friend and I like to run around trying to kill each other in forge, and I was playing as an elite so i cought up to him without sprint/evade or anything else.
Depending on the story and such, it would be cool to use Elites in Fire fight, I am not sure if it is going to make sense, but hey, we really don’t know how the war is going to work out.
> Hey man, I’ve been an Elite player since Halo 2 too, but they’re simply just not a part of the series anymore.

You’ve obviously never read the books have you. Elites will play a major part in upcoming Halo games.
We don’t want to play as anything else but elites. Imagine what would happen if Spartan fans couldn’t play as a Spartan anymore.
I don’t see why people complain abut the way Elites were in Reach, It is how I liked them most, full sized monsters, with proper armour configurations and armour abilities.
Elites are huge, they should not be in all game types for that reason, that is why we have Invasion, and I imagine that will return.
I would like to see little details that you could chance on your Elites armour though, not full on swapping helmets and stuff but little things to add and make your Elite, YOUR Elite.
Elites are ordered, disciplined, and very regimental, the idea of Elites mixing and matching their armour both looks dumb, and is not true the their form as armour and colour reflect rank.
343 has an image for their game, telling them that people will not buy it if they don’t include Elites in every aspect of the game just seems stupid and juvenile to me. Also, if the game is good then it is the loss of those who choose to hold out.

Really? Because that hasn’t been confirmed at all. It’s nice to speculate, but please, keep it as speculation.
> We don’t want to play as anything else but elites.
Well that’s going to be pretty rough when you can’t play as an Elite in Halo 4. There’s no reason to. In the original trilogy they played a prominent role, not the series has moved on. The Elites have been left behind (as far as we can tell from the information available), but the Spartans haven’t. That’s why there are Spartans.
> Imagine what would happen if Spartan fans couldn’t play as a Spartan anymore.
That has nothing to do with this, and it’s not a good analogy anyway. There’s reason for Spartans to be in the game, it revolves around a Spartan. Now if there was a game which focused on Arby’s Adventures and doesn’t involve humans at all it wouldn’t make sense to have Spartans in it. Then your analogy would be valid.
Also, go look at the Halo4firstlook video again, I THINK that it shows the “skeleton” of a Spartan, BUT, theres no skull, and the skeleton is anatomically incorrect.
I thinks its a robot made by the Forunners…
Think about it…

Covenant is already confirmed in Halo 4, if they can make it to wherever Chief is, so can the Elites.

No. Well, if that’s the case I will not but anymore Halo games. The Sangheili are what kept my interest in Halo.
> It is how I liked them most, full sized monsters
Having them as big bad monsters might be cool and all, but it is an awful way to go from a narritive standpoint at this point in the fiction.
> Elites are huge,
Not really. After Bungie got their act sorted out and started laying down a proper set of facts about the fiction their height was made approximate to that of the Spartans, and it has been that way since, even with 343i Visual Guide. Bungie just decided to be different with Reach. Either those Spartans are midgets, or Bungie changed their minds again. I think given the choice between keeping a silly number and the ability to use them in MM, most people would pick the latter.
> Elites are ordered, disciplined, and very regimental, the idea of Elites mixing and matching their armour both looks dumb, and is not true the their form as armour and colour reflect rank.
Aye, under the Covenant military. It is made abundantly clear in Glasslands that they either have to change their entire approach to life, or die out as a species. No ifs, no buts with their situation. Having them change their uniform and altering their armor in places to remove superfluous and inefficient crap is entirely believable. Otherwise I might start wondering from exactly where the Sangheili are getting all these new and shiny armor sets for all their recruits when they cannot even plant crops yet…
> Otherwise I might start wondering from exactly where the Sangheili are getting all these new and shiny armor sets for all their recruits when they cannot even plant crops yet…
I wonder if they recycle the armor. Also, it would be hard to believe that all of the states on Sangheilos were as worse of as the one in Glasslands and that not a single state couldn’t sustain themselves.

Much of the elite community did not like the fact that the elites could only play in invasion and elite slayer. They want to always be able to play as elites. And i must point out, the elites are currently in a state of disorder and disaray after divorcing themselves from the covenant.
Agreed. I just hope that 343 doesn’t sacrifice Elites for the sake of canon. Also, boycotting Halo 4 for the sake of Elites is not “juvenile and stupid.” Many people, myself including, have grown emotionally attached to Elites. It seems silly to you, but if you become truly integrated with Elites you would understand.
