Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> The main cause (reason) why elites won’t be in Halo 4 is because… developers were in a wood of forest through which these gargantuan fungus Sangheili mutants feed off of the irradiated toxins of oneself, thus draining one’s life force and causing them to be left behind in the Divine Beyond. They’d be exacerbating all your everything. Even my great Wraith of the Autumn was the great victim of the extra-nuclear dissipation of such ex-positive measures. Not of the metaphysical but of the horridly description of its… well everything.

That is pretty much the worse joke ever…

Man, if Elites are replaced by something else in Multiplayer, I don’t know what I’m going to do.

I know this is unlikely, but that would just be so stupid.

The reason I’m so upset Elite’s are removed is because 343 is shoving our “Spartan Identity’s” down our throat’s, for Halo’s 2-3 my Halo identity was a Sangheli, and i will alway’s have trouble associating with Spartan’s. I think Jamie Griesemer of Bungie sum’s up what were feeling perfectly with this quote.

Jaime Griesemer: "I’d much rather experiment and do something surprising, and not have everybody appreciate it, than just turn the crank and do another alien war movie with a space marine"

he stated that in response to criticism from the Arbiter’s level’s in Halo 2.

Now props to you for bringing that up. I had almost completely forgotten about that…

Now that’s one game type I will not complain when it comes to Jet-packing. Dinos with jetpacks and concussion rifles ftw! 83

I couldn’t agree more.

Indeed. It’s a little difficult to have a “Spartan Identity” for me, seeing as how, like you, I’ve always “been” an Elite. I’ll probably never be able to do the “My Spartan” thing like 343 is promoting.

The only time it really afected gameplay was in Reach(Spartans being weaker and slower thn Sangheli)and even then;you would only notice in Invasion. So my point is as long as theyre in the universe Im fine.

Quote for truth…

Alright, so how about people make this clear for me. 343 confirmed no playable elites, right? What is the evolved purpose of this thread? Or is it still the vain hope they might change it?

> Alright, so how about people make this clear for me. 343 confirmed no playable elites, right? What is the evolved purpose of this thread? Or is it still the vain hope they might change it?

  1. 343 has confirmed no playable elites.

  2. A thread does not need a purpose beyond people wish to communicate what they like abut the topic at hand.

  3. I’d rather have one place for elite- likers to post then fifty of them and people scrambling from one to another. As you can see, topics pop up and down within seconds of each other in the Halo 4 section. Better to have a single home then twenty of them.

  4. The evolved purpose of this thread is along the lines of people saying they would like to have elites playable in the future.

  5. If their is a time to voice a concern about things for the future, that time is now. At the beginning of the previous release. 343 will be looking for ideas eventually and when they do, they may very well see a thread showing people want elites back for example…

I understand balance is a huge issue for some people with Elite’s, and that perspective cannot be ignored, I think the compromise should be in the super competitive playlist’s (MLG, Team Sniper’s, SWAT etc.) just force the Spartan model.

That way in Social/non-competetive gametype’s I can represent my Halo identity, and in Ranked/competitive where balance matter’s competitive player’s don’t have to deal with it. Problem solved.

As for the canon issue, I understand why no Elite’s would be physically present on board the Infinity, But they did capture Jul’Mdama, and using the same process used to create Smart AI’s (scanning their neural pattern’s) I believe they could project holographic Sangheli avatar’s with realistic tactic’s. As Johnson stated in Halo 2 they can run simulation’s on Scarab’s, which are colony’s of millions of Lekgolo worm’s (and therefore intelligent)

That way Spartan’s could train against former Allie’s turned opponent’s without a possible security breach on board Infinity.

As for the way the model behaves, they should be equal to Spartan’s like Halo’s 2-3 but stand upright, and scale down the model for multiplayer use. I understand alot of people say scaling them down would “look silly” but in Gear’s of War the developer’s scaled down RAAM, the 10 FT tall final boss of the first game, into a roughly 6 FT MP model, and he looked just fine.

AMEN!

All I have to say is… Trollololol!

But seriously, I wouldn’t mind seeing any Covenant, Flood, Forerunners, Prometheans, or humans as playable characters in CUSTOM games. I think I’ll survive another day if they’re not in MM though.

I to would be happy if they put them in custom games, sadley that doesn’t look to be happening so I’ll wait for Halo 5, in the meantime I can imagine what this solution to scratch the itch is.

Any new player type would be great for custom games. I don’t see why not, especially for infection. We’ve all wanted the flood to be the zombies in infection, that’d make it so much better straight away and of course, if the player who made the gametype didn’t want the zombie to be flood, he could choose what player type he wanted the zombie to be.

sorry im late guys… what did i miss so far…
