Thank you for correcting my post I forgot to fix that, and evan if the elite community can’t recognize it, if they still wanna try and attempt to do it, let them. The’ll Just be waiting for Halo 5 just like everyone else when it coems out. and yes thats exactley what this thread is for, its to keep the fourms from flooding.

I love playing as an Elite in Reach. Different assassinations, health regen, faster, jump higher, they’re so much fun. And they make awesome noises.

Oh I more than recognize how others feel. But if we want to try and get a certain species pertained in halos universe back into halo then why stop us? If it happens in a fair, balanced manner then how does it honestly affect you?

Most of the posts you see against them are regarding balance issues and canon issues. Both of those things can be worked around.

Now, the hard part is the coding. But that there has absolutly nothing to do with the community and will have absolutly no effect on you.

So I’m a bit confused with those who hate them and or disagree very profusely with us. Certainly the devs have something better to do with their time, but with nine map packs confirmed I’m sure most people won’t miss it if at least one gets replaced by elite DLC.

Most people just want us to leave and or give up because their tired of us trying, but if it honestly doesnt affect them then what is the harm?

Just my thoughts, and I’ll leave it at that.

Secondly, this thread in particular has a better motive for elite players, so if you wanted to voice an opinion about elites being playable, this is the place to do it. Lastly, playable elites have presented nermous issues over the years and it was a step in the right direction to avoid those confrontations with both Reach (In a non-elite playlist), and now with Halo 4. I hope the circumstances can make the elite more appropriately balanced by Halo 5, if ever.

Well certainly. I rather enjoyed the balance debate, but as I stated, if I have any control over any of this (which I don’t) I would make elites as balanced and glitched free as possible.

I agree, I hope elites can be balanced by halo 5. But there is no real reason for them not to be balanced in halo 4 (that I am currently aware of.)

What I’d like to see is playable Forerunners in H4 and both Elites and Forerunners playable in H5, where hopefully we’ll have canonical reasons Elites and Forerunners are on Infinity.

Maybe even a Spartan Ops campaign with a multi-species squad. The epicness would be unimaginable.

Elites got a spot in multiplayer since they were essentially the prime adversary in the Halo franchise thus far. However, they are no longer the main enemy, the prometheans seem to be from what we’ve seen.

Also, I heard Frankie say somewhere that Spartan IVs are the main multiplayer focus (since they are training on the Infinity which=multiplayer).

There may be a sliver of a chance that elites are playable in multiplayer. Not completely there, but also very very slim.

lol This guy acts like I’m prejudice. The majority of my Halo 3 games were played as an Elite. Infact, this is my favorite pic from one of my games.

That is really the only argument against elites. They aren’t balanced and haven’t been since early Halo 2.

  2. Time has proven elites have not received the balance commitments players would ideally like to see. As it pertains right now, Halo 3 SWAT is and always has been dominated by elites in the upper thresholds of 35+ rank for a reason.

As part of the coding process, you are correct by saying the community has little to no interest or input beyond, “change this characteristic” which could get potentially adopted by 343i and they override the previous coding characteristic on that recommendation.

I corrected your state because it did read, “nine map packs” and I was immediately like, “WOAH! TIME OUT! When was that released?”. If 343i decides to include an Elite playable DLC, then that is what they will do. If it comes out unbalanced, you will find key people taking note 343 continued the problems Bungie started and continued with.

If they wish to protest you continuing a thread they believe should have perished a long time ago, then they are not the kind of people you pay attention to. You simply say, “thanks for your opinion and input, but I disagree.” and move on. Now if you don’t want to actually thank them for their input, then you simple say something to the effect of you disagree. The power of being a gamer is being able to discuss anything relating to a game you like, this isn’t a sectionalism thing where one thread can only be responded to by certain people, this is the Halo forums, and everyone is invited to input their .02 if they so desire… just so long as they do it within the rules of course.

And that is what you would do. You can only hope 343 has accepted that challenge as well.

We are a community based project highlighting what we would like in the game, our opinions are just as valid as the rest of the community, who prefere to express their points on different matters.

And you’re grossly over reacting. I’ve read Glasslands and groove on the elites (almost) as much as the supporters here. I’m cool with playable elites. My problem is not with you expressing your views but for the fact you’ve been at it for 3 months. I come to the forums looking for fresh topics, new videos, and intelligent discussions. And every time I see this thread it irritates me like the thread claiming 343 broke canon with its new grunt design.

I haven’t flamed anyone, called for a lock, or even opposed the idea. Yet every time someone cares to mention this they are bullied by your “community” and slam me with alien hate speech. I’m just curious why this thread is bumped daily when 343 has confirmed no playable elites. All I want is just an honest answer.

The main cause (reason) why elites won’t be in Halo 4 is because… developers were in a wood of forest through which these gargantuan fungus Sangheili mutants feed off of the irradiated toxins of oneself, thus draining one’s life force and causing them to be left behind in the Divine Beyond. They’d be exacerbating all your everything. Even my great Wraith of the Autumn was the great victim of the extra-nuclear dissipation of such ex-positive measures. Not of the metaphysical but of the horridly description of its… well everything.

Well, from a Machinima standpoint it’s really going to be damaging to Halo 4 if the Elite’s aren’t in some way playable.

Honestly If it were up to me, we’d also have Brute and Flood combat forms as playable, at least in customs.

From a Matchmaking Standpoint there really is no benefit, or harm, in using an Elite over a Spartan. Except for the tryhard statement “HRRRN! ELITE’S HEADS AR 2 BIG, AND EZ TO HIT!” (Even if no one is making you play as one.)

So, yes. I agree, Elites Should be playable.
