I think there is a rumor Thel dies in the new book Thursday War. I’ve only heard about it in this forum and don’t think it’s very valid, but i would be PISSED if they killed off the Arbiter. He is my favorite character and would hate to see him go. Even if he does die I doubt all of the elites following him will just switch sides. I think it would be EPIC if Arbiter and the Cheif meet up and one of the new games and go on some missions together. I think if they are going to kill off a character as involved in the story as the Arbiter, it should be in the game.
I think making all the elites against humanity is a bad move in the story. I think it would be a lot more interesting if the elites were split. There could still be elites in MM with the new tech humanity has. Why can’t 343 just give the fans what they want?
BRING ELITES BACK 343!!!
I laugh how they’re training to more or less kill each other when they’re not even fighting humans. I’m just interested to see what this “thing” is that will make us happy.

heres the excerpt from gameinformer about one of the spartan ops mission:
“We got to see an early mock-up of the first episode in which Majestic Squad suits up in Spartan armor onboard the Infinity, flies past a massive Star Wars-caliber space battle in a smaller vessel, and attempts to stop Covenant forces from reaching an artifact on Requiem. This faction of Covenant believes that one of their gods resides on the planet, which is occupied with some version of the Forerunners called the Promethians. While Spartan Ops takes place on the same planet as the campaign, 343 promises that unique level designs and geometry separates the two modes in the vast majority of cases.”
…
“That’s not to say that the Covenant won’t be present in “Halo 4″ as well. Whatever uneasy alliance there was at the end of “Halo 3″ has since dissipated.”
“The alliance with these particular Covenant is gone. Every Covenant that you encounter in ‘Halo 4′ specifically is a bad guy, and that will be very apparent why at the start of the game,” O’Connor said. “[The Covenant and Prometheans] will interact with each other and in various different ways. Sometimes they’ll be cooperating with you and other elements they’ll be resisting each other.”

EDIT: This faction we are fighting is probably the Neru Pe 'Odosima (Servants of abiding Truth). There are also the covenant loyalists (Jiralhanae and San 'Shyuum). You must also note that whilst most Jiralhanae are part of the Covenant Loyalists there are also a few that are Loyal to Avu Med 'Telcam. In addition Thel ‘Vadam wants peace with humanity and does not believe in the Forerunners’ being Gods. Furthermore Avu wants to kill Thel so as to unite the Sangheili and recreate the covenant and Jul 'Mdama wsnts to wage war against humanity.

So this could hint that The elites in Halo 5 will be out not just to stop the rebels but to possibly avenge the Arbiter? if he’s truly dead.
If not being able to play as an elite is such a big deal to you I get the feeling some of you wont be able to purchase the game without a parent/guardian

No need to flame you fool

It is talking about Halo 4 sangheili and brief alliances with them like the one with the flood in Halo 3

Extremely uncalled for, and is very rude. We have yet to fling around rude/ hateful/ violent words in this thread and have been very respectful. And yet you are going to call us children? If that is what a child is, then I will gladly wear that title. If being an adult means I have to insult people just because they gathered as a community to support something that they love to play as in a video game, then I will never be an adult then.

Hardly an insult I just don’t see why it is such a big deal to anyone who isn’t a child
To each their own
> If not being able to play as an elite is such a big deal to you I get the feeling some of you wont be able to purchase the game without a parent/guardian
I’m tired of being insulted becuase of someones opinion conflicting with mine (or the other way around.)
Did you ever stop to realise that maybe these people just like the elites because they arent the boring, overused, stereotypical macho human that appears in every single modern video game?
Guys, I’m done with this crap.
I’m just going to go back to monitering this thread, and commenting when I see fit. You want to attack me because I might like a certain part of halo that you don’t care for, thats stupid. I’m a competitve player just like (i’m assuming) you are (given by your -Yoink- attitude and labeling fans of elites as children.)
Jesus people. Just stop. Honestly. Just stop.
I’m sick, and tired of this. If you want to flame me or anyone else in this thread, ibox us. Specifically inbox me. Becuase this is unnaceptable.
When will people learn fighting won’t get any of us anywhere? How does liking a minute aspect of halo that really stood out for us that didn’t quite stand out for you make me a child?
I’m done with waypoint. I’ll still keep an eye on this thread of course, but if you guys need me just message me.

There are a few of us (no names given) who were a bit… unruly by means of communication.
But the vast majority of us try to refrain from insults and attacks. Unfortunately, for us liking a certain aspect of halo that is less important to others, we get attacked on our preference.
Its insulting really. I’m not even an elite player, I just know they are a really important part of this game and specifically this community, so I’ve tried to help.

How many of those posts are by the same group of users?
Players that prefer Elites are the minority. Bungie themselves said that they only take up about 10% of the total population. The forums are not a big enough sample size, anyway. Only a fraction of players are actually forumgoers.

And competitve players are a much larger majority? I play MLG gametypes almost everyday, we’ve got anywher between 200-600 people in our playlist on a given day IN BOTH GAMES, 3 AND REACH.
The competitve community is not much larger than the elite community, and at the most only double its size (sure thats large, but that makes up only thirty percent when the two are combined)
We are all in the minority, elites and competitve players alike.
Granted we have a lot of comments in this thread posted by the same users, but anyone remember that comeptitve thread that was going around that got to about 28 pages before dieing? Well a lot of those were by the same users as well.

So only little kids want Elites to come back badly? That is very, very wrong! How do you know what the ages of the forums members are? You don’t. So you assume that we are only little kids. To a lot of us in this thread, it is a very big deal because we love Halo, but always playing a Spartan gets old, so we play Elites for diversity. Not because we are children, but because we love mixing things up in multiplayer!

All the same, it is very rude and disrespectful to label us as children for wanting something that isn’t necessary to competitive gaming. If you insist on insulting us, then I will have to ask you to leave.
very disappointed in 343, elites deserved better and so did the fans of elites
> And competitve players are a much larger majority? I play MLG gametypes almost everyday, we’ve got anywher between 200-600 people in our playlist on a given day IN BOTH GAMES, 3 AND REACH.
Nope, competitive players are the minority, too.

Cool. Numbers.

Okay.

There are also a lot more competitive threads that pop up than Elite threads. A number of the competitive players I talk to are either banned, or have gone soft on these forums, anyway. Elites have no fear in being banned for speaking their mind. Just saying.
whatever this scratch is, its got me curious but I think i’ll wait till they reveal the info.
pnow I may have an Eltie Icon but I still think SPartans and Elites are 50/50 so im one of the unbiased players in the Halo fanbase.

thats because this topic became a way to keep others from flooding the thread with any new topic simular to this one.
the competitive Players however, never foundor came up with a “competitive Players theread” for them to talk on.
I don’t play as an elite EVER, but I totally feel for you guys. You have my complete support. Not sure what that gets you, or if there is anything I can do to help, but there you have it.
Keep fighting!
