You see, I love the Canon and such behind Halo, but the thing is…why bother having a story behind Multiplayer when every other game doesn’t bother doing that? Multiplayer is meant to be having fun in different variety of ways and doing so with numerous possibilities. If I was to -Yoink!- someone…is that considered canon?

Halo 4 is by an entirely different studio than Bungie. They do things differently.

You can’t pull the “other games did/didn’t do it,” because Halo 4 is already doing a lot different from the first 4 games.

We DEFINITELY need to keep the Elites. Why? Because, Invasion has to have the opposing species, and because it’s pretty much one of the most played game types in Halo Reach history. SO, I suggest 343i keep them. I mean, they’ve already got them in campaign, might as well put em in Match Making! (Let alone Custom Games…)

So, if they had a simualtion in those days, and they didnt even have great technology but it was good enough to run a simulation on a covenant battle platform, then how come now with forrunner technology they cant do a simpl scan of elite combat techniuqes and render them in a holographic battle arena.
> > > > >

The spartans battling would then have the oppurtunity to learn some basic defense strategy against elites, and the spartan controlling it would then learn how an elite would defend itself against a spartan.
> >
> > Implying that Elites can be simulated with Forerunner technology, you are going off simple opinions here, all we know right now is that the UNSC Infinity being used to train Spartan IVs in simulated battlefields, not Elites, as confirmed by 343i, there are 17,000 UNSC personnel aboard the UNSC Infinity, among those are Spartan IVs and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and other UNSC personnel, likely just marines, there is NO confirmed Elite presence on the UNSC Infinity.
> >
> > As for this playable Elites theory as DLC, they aren’t going to ruin any aspect of canon for multiplayer to make you happy, making Elites playable would ruin any sort of canon explanation behind multiplayer because as far as we know, they are enemies and how I believe in Glasslands that ONI has practically forced the Elites to hate the humans again after the uneasy alliance from the Arbiters elites, only backs that up.
>
> I have a question about DLC “ruining Canon”. First off. HOW IN THE HELL DOES MULTIPLAYER NEED TO BE CANON. Explain that to me PLEASE. It doesn’t?
> The fact they made this massive fuss about the whole of multiplayer being canon and you want them to drop that so you can play as an Elite in multiplayer, sorry no, that is just wrong, completely a slap in the face to those who are a fan of the storyline.
>
> And secondly: DLC Canon “After the events of Spartan Ops/Infinity Multiplayer thus far, Sangheili from the alliance lead by the Arbiter were given special permissions to board the UNSC infinity and train alongside Spartan IVs, the UNSC feels this will give them a greater advantage against the Covenant of Abiding Truth.”
> How do we know that the Arbiter is still an ally after the Campaign, I doubt he agrees with us killing Elites, regardless if they are on his side or not, just because you can make up random words and think it would fix the canon problem, doesn’t make it possible at all, considering the Spartan IVs are doing simulations and purely simulating and not actually fighting, killing and hurting each other, how do the Elites help at all? They won’t be able to simulate like the Spartan IVs do, maybe after extensive research and technology being put into the UNSC Infinity for the very reason, but even then, the Human & Elite alliance has always been an uneasy one and probably always will be, they wouldn’t go and do all that when there is still a danger of Elites not being allies again and wasted money going into those upgrades to be simply unused.
>
>
> BAM! Canon. Not ruined whatsoever. So please stop being so single minded, and short sighted. Fans raged and hated Halo Reach without the BR, we deserve to rage and hate Halo 4 without Sangheili.

Invasion sucked. The main reason it sucked was the differences and imbalance between factions. What says that Invasion cannot be in just because both sides would be the same species? Rush in Battlefield isn’t instantly ruined because both sides are humans. Nothing about Invasion needs Elites, it is just a single-sided progressive gametype.

> We DEFINITELY need to keep the Elites. Why? Because, Invasion has to have the opposing species, and because it’s pretty much one of the most played game types in Halo Reach history. Those Promethean fellows are pretty much confirmed, though.

Innovating, trying something different, 343i are willing to take those risks, giving the Multiplayer a canon explanation was something I wanted for a long time, and now it is finally happening, you all want it thrown at the window to play as an Elite model, it is just pathetic.

Also, yes, teabagging is considered canon, because the matches we play on Infinity are called War Games, keyword there, games, just like how Grifball is going to be canon, Speed Halo is going to be canon, Fat Kid is going to be canon, it is something they would be allowed to do in their spare time.

The only pissed off people would be the Elite guys who can’t accept change that the Elites aren’t the main focus any more in Halo 4, Prometheans are, they are the Ancient Evil which 343i has been hinting at for a LONG time, not the Elites.

So your saying Spartans had spare time during the Covenent war to violate bodies and such and to make out rages remarks to them and pounding their corpses is to be considered a normal procedure for them to do? Especially all the way from Halo : CE, to Halo 4? That doesn’t even sound right to begin with, not even in Canon or in the books.

Wow. Moa. You talk like the Humans are attacking Elites here. When it’s obvious the Elites in this alliance attacked the humans. I’m pretty sure ANYONE with HALF A BRAIN has already figured out that the Covenant in Halo 4 is just an expanded Servants of Abiding Truth from Glasslands, who ARE TRYING TO KILL THE ARBITER. And Oppose him in every way.

This leaves the story perfectly open to my suggestion. And you’re implying it would take them years to incorporate Elites into the Simulation? The Simulation is in every respect just a FUTURISTIC VIDEO GAME. It doesn’t take years to program a new character model into a VIDEO GAME it would realistically at that stage of technology probably take less than a day of tinkering. “Scan an Elite” there’s the model. “Put Elite in pod, have pod adapt to Elite’s brain pattern like it would have had to for EVERY DIFFERENT SPARTAN” oh there you go. That Elite is now part of the simulation.

And this talk of Humans not willing to share this technology with PROVEN ALLIES. Even when the alliance was even MORE uneasy in Halo 3, Sangheili and Humans shared their weaponry and technology for the sake of study, and learning on both sides. They have a common enemy, in fact the fact that these Elites are likely ALSO at war with the Covenant means they have TWO common enemies, and the Elites being able to kill their own kind who oppose them proves their trustworthiness to humanity. As well as their honour-bound society, just like Master chief, when they make a promise they keep it. Humans KNOW this.

Implying every Spartan on the Infinity runs around and teabags their enemy in the middle of a simulation.

It is considered canon, anything in Multiplayer is, regardless of what you say, although what this has to do with Elites, I am unaware.

PS: Halo CE, 2, 3 & Reach’s multiplayer weren’t considered canon, so teabagging didn’t matter.

> > >

I doubt the elites are allied with them, and I do recall franie stating we wfight along side the elites at some point.

I could bet they will pull off another Halo 2 thing which the 1st game didn’t had elites playable anyways in the trilogy, but then later after that they were included in later games.

You’re still implying that Teabagging should be Canon in Halo 4. I think you sound ridiculous.

Oh right, because Host booting, Lag, and even Aim bots is also considered canon? Geez, I didn’t think that was even possible for the Spartans to cheat their way to the top ranks then in a Virtual Simulator.

You’re really arguing this now?

…Really?

Wow… Ok everyone. So I just looked Moa up, didn’t want to be the guy that did this… But he SUCKED at Halo 3. He probably blamed the ONE Elite on the other team every 3-4 games for the reason he couldn’t get above Major all the time!

I understand you now, Moa. You are butthurt about players being better than you, and you fantasized that Elites were the reason why.
