The Elites are just as bad actually. You’d have to be pretty stupid to think that these issues don’t affect them too, or any other alien race for that matter.

True, religion ain’t the problem. But one frase I always here just pisses me off; “God Wills it.” “Off with his head, god wills it.”

Saying that doesnt make it right!

OT, yes, we are very flawed, and biased in our cause. But is that not what a cause is? Certainly we have stated our opinions, but its not really more than that. Still doesnt stop the opinions from being valid.

True… But there better not be more than 1 beiber, we dont even need this one O.o

Certainly they are more well off however, seeing as though they are united for the time being. And due to their high honor, I certianly dont see them leaving many to starve… But thats just me, we don’t actually know enough about them yet to make accurate judgement.

They didn’t look very united in Glasslands. Also, Ther was left to starve in a prison cell when he was conquered by a rival Kaidon, and presumably the rest of his family as well. And what about those who are cast out because one of their family members made a mistake? Where do they stay, eat and sleep when they are kicked out of their home? I doubt there is any sort of Welfare State on Sanghelios for these unlucky people, so they are probably living on the streets as as well - children included, or living as outcasts scratching a living off of rocks.

Make no mistake, the Sangheili can be real -Yoinks!- when they want to be.

god never said that, they just used it to motivate them to continue the execution.

> Meh, I like divers gameplay, humans suck… Their boring and overused. And elites brought something special to the game :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes there an overused concept, but some human type charactersa re cool, like Spartans. and Ninjas.

> The Elites are just as bad actually. You’d have to be pretty stupid to think that these issues don’t affect them too, or any other alien race for that matter.

So true, fromw from what I know, anything that has simular human intelligence is capable of doing the same. that includes all the stuff listed. that made it a grey area, that includes killing eachother. evan the forunners have had war with there own kind. but I know one thing. We will never get that far. (forunner tech)
in our species.

Gentlemen, let’s not dwell on the religion here. As fun a debate as it would be, it can easily devolve into something horrible.

Also, the Elites place emphasis on individual achievements and wouldn’t offer too much aid to those less fortunate. If you can’t feed yourself for whatever reason, then it’s your own damn fault, and it’s up to you to fix that (I doubt any of them “starved” per se, unless they were thrown in prison/banished, what with the mandatory military service for men and the women filling in everywhere else, possibly.)

HWM: I know people who have played the Halo games using nothing but covenant weaponry. I did the ODST campaign using nothing but said guns on Heroic.

yeah stepping from that one, and that is true.

> Make no mistake, the Sangheili can be real -Yoinks!- when they want to be.

Humans are like that to. and so is other races.

> Also, the Elites place emphasis on individual achievements and wouldn’t offer too much aid to those less fortunate.

Individual achievement is a completely subjective quality, and is not helped by the fact that achievement in their society is defined solely on physical strength rather than intellect or creativity, so it is not a very fair system. And what about children born into such conditions? Are they to suffer that life also despite not even existing when their parents “failed” for whatever reason?

> If you can’t feed yourself for whatever reason, then it’s your own damn fault, and it’s up to you to fix that (I doubt any of them “starved” per se, unless they were thrown in prison/banished, what with the mandatory military service for men and the women filling in everywhere else, possibly.

So those who are born disabled - physically or mentally - , or end up as such through disease or injury, deserve to starve because they can’t feed themselves? If your Uncle ends up screwing up on his military assignment, does that mean that the authorities have the right to kill you and your family to prevent your “imperfect blood” from spreading, or to cast you and your family out? How exactly can you fix that, exactly?

I’m also pretty sure that infanticide is an unethical thing to do, which is another thing the Sangheili do to completely subjective standards such as physical stature, just like some Human cultures did.

To settle this debate once and for all, we as Human’s cannot fathom what it would be like to live as a Sangheli. Truthfully i’m sure many family’s that are sent into exile due to a family member’s failure often take it in stride. Because that is their way.

It only truly becomes a problem when they are unhappy with their way and feel forced.

you know what is so great about elites… HONOR…
This is something, that by it, it could become the greatest race in the galaxy. Betrayal, something humans always do, Elites would not even think of it. Betrayal, without sucess, the greatest crime. lol

>

I feel like physical and mental disabilities have more or less been bred out of the sangheili as a whole. Physical disabilities would likely kill you in training or the battlefield if you got that far, and mental ones could do the same very easily. Women with such things probably wouldn’t be considered attractive or good for breeding, so likely wouldn’t see anything beyond servant work in out of the way areas.

As I said before, I don’t think any sangheili “starves” anymore. Men have mandatory military service, so that feeds them, and with all the men fighting, there are a lot of roles left behind for women to fill. This is a pretty muddy area, so it’s hard to comment on.

Couldn’t they just say the Elites are training with the Spartans because they’re buddies now after Halo 3 and work together? That would be a really cool way to explain Elites into multiplayer.

> Couldn’t they just say the Elites are training with the Spartans because they’re buddies now after Halo 3 and work together? That would be a really cool way to explain Elites into multiplayer.

Elites are not friendly in Halo 4, not from the ones we have seen in Campaign.

On-topic: What exactly are you guys trying to do now, it has been a while since it was confirmed that Elites aren’t going to be in MP, are you still rallying for it?

There are obviously still elites that are friendly

Well yeah. There’s always a chance of a last minute change up. It’s relatively easy for them to fit it into the story arc. Since there are both friendly elites and enemy elites, they could either simply say that the elite players are Holograms or actual friendly elites. Not saying it is likely but I’m not going to run out of hope until the game is in my hands and there are no elites in Multiplayer or Custom Games.

Anyway, the reason that the Abiding Truth hates humanity is basically the same reason that the Forerunners originally got into a fight with them. Expansion. The elites compare the way that Humans colonize and spread to different worlds to the Flood. As they consume worlds, these Sangheili believe (and rightfully so) that it is only a matter of time before the humans want to eliminate the Sangheili species, simply because if the Sangheili were to get back on their feet again, they would rival humanity once more.

> Couldn’t they just say the Elites are training with the Spartans because they’re buddies now after Halo 3 and work together? That would be a really cool way to explain Elites into multiplayer.

Well, no it wouldn’t. The Sangheili and Humanity still have a hate for each other, but because of the Halo event, they had a truce. The Arbiter has guaranteed them that the ones under his influence would not attack humanity, but it still doesn’t mean they like them. So imagine that the Infinity, home to a 1000s of Spartan IVs, having about 700 Elites, them being the minority. It wouldn’t be pretty, because they both don’t like each other still. Unless the stakes demand it, they will most likely never work together ever again. But do to the new Trilogy story and the way things seem to be going, they will be called to aid again. Halo 4 is not the condemnation of Elites, but possibly a new beginning. We will have to see.

Lord Hood would disagree.

> Well yeah. There’s always a chance of a last minute change

well see what happens. who knows maybe around halo 6 the good promethians (if any) well work with the Spartans and the Elites to stop thefinal enemy.

and who knows if there is evan any change, we might get to see all 3 species being playable (don’t count on it though)
