> I’d rather them play uniquely and be larger than the Spartans, like in Reach. Elites should be the terrifying Aliens they should be.
That would be great, but I’d rather not see that happen if it means they will be left out in matchmaking, let them be big and scary in the campaign, but just don’t leave them out of multiplayer.
Although I never play as elites, and have a running joke of calling people who play as elites traitors, I couldnt even begin to fathom halo without them. They’re are part of what made halo, halo, and it’d be a shame if they didn’t return. Halo needs the Elites as much as it needs the spartans.
> > I’m sure there’s going to be a MP playlist where the Spartan IVs and Elite extremists will be dukeing it out.

> Reach had that too, and we hated it, it’s basically an insult, especially since we still have to spend half the game as Spartans.

> We can understand if the need is felt to cut Elites out of MLG, SWAT, maybe even Snipers, but that should be the extent of it.
Well since there’s customizable player traits I don’t see why they shouldn’t be in. I love Elites and really do hope they make it in, and having them on the same tam would make sense canon-wise as there are sects of Elite Society that are allied with Humanity.
I highly doubt they will be in now since MP is now starting to look canon related. And the Spartan IVs are more powerful than the elites in Mark VII if Mark VI made a Spartan II equal to a major.
> I’d rather them play uniquely and be larger than the Spartans, like in Reach. Elites should be the terrifying Aliens they should be.
No, Because Then people will be complaining about the need to Nerf sangheili, and how they should be forced into one playlist. I would Prefer Identical game-play, Because I don’t want to be restricted based upon my preferred species. This problem happened with reach and it should no happen here.
> Question, we didn’t play as elites in CE or 2 right? But the idea of having an elite is pretty much molded into Halo MM right?
>
> Oh, and they said we’d be playing as Spartan IV’s. Did they confirm that we’d be playing as Master Cheif in MM?
A Spartan is a Spartan. If you want to be a Spartan II, wear Mjolnir armor instead of default, and there you go.
Unfortunately you can’t say “Wear Elite armor on your Spartan”, so we need to make sure they appear in the game.
> I highly doubt they will be in now since MP is now starting to look canon related. And the Spartan IVs are more powerful than the elites in Mark VII if Mark VI made a Spartan II equal to a major.
Then have Elite players be “equivalent” to an Ultra.
As an Elite hater I kind of feel bad for the Elite loyalists. I feel that you will not being seeing any Elites in Halo 4. Fear not though as I think that they will focus on them in Halo 5 as a way to make people excited again. You just have to wait like 3-5 years.
> The reason why Elites might not be in H4 multiplayer would be purely gameplay related, not to do with any convenient backstory they conjure up. Elites are way too big compared to even the biggest Spartan, I think Bungie realised this and thats why we have the hunched over dinos of H3 and the massive different play style models of Elites in Reach.
>
> Its tricky.
In halo 3 they were about the same size… problem solved
> I highly doubt they will be in now since MP is now starting to look canon related. And the Spartan IVs are more powerful than the elites in Mark VII if Mark VI made a Spartan II equal to a major.
You forget, with each new generation of spartans, they generally become weaker, and so has their armor. I think only Noble Team had shielding, while all the other Spartan III’s had some kind of passive cloaking thing. Still since Halo 4 takes place at an unknown date in the future, more advanced technology may have become more readily available, which would help to balance the weakness of the new generation of spartans.

Basically this. And I listed the canonical reason for them to appear in the original post as well. I can only hope 343i sees this somehow.
Hey, If you want elites in Halo 4 and you come by this thread, tell your friends, This thread represents a topic that doesn’t deserve to just be buried. show it some love, people.
Even though I do not like you, Avu, in the slightest because of past experiences, I do agree that Sangheili (Elites) should be in Halo 4. I mean, what’s a game without Sangheili? Halo 3: ODST had Sangheili even though the enemy was mainly the Jiralhanae (Brutes).
Halo 4 will be bland and dead without the existence of Sangheili or at least Thel 'Vadam (The Arbiter) himself. Please, 343i. Please add the Sangheili to Halo 4. I’m sure most of the Sangheili fans will be crushed if they aren’t there.

Yes, We are not Enemies but among friends, we must be heard now or vanish into the wind.

We aren’t representing our respective Sangheili clans anymore, but the community as a whole, thanks for realizing that and supporting our cause.
I agree with this idea. Elites have always been a backbone to Halo; what made it different and better than other games. My recommendation is to reduce the size of Elites to match the size of a Spartan II, or increase the size of Spartans, by creating Spartan IVs, to match the size of an average Elite. That way they will always be an applicable choice for a species in ALL playlists of matchmaking. I regard that everyone will accept the Elites’ difference in head position, as I am tired of that argument in Halo 3. THE HITBOXES ARE STILL THE SAME.
I also believe Elites can be tied into the campaign, if the game development is not already too far for this to happen. I think it will be an excellent and exciting plot if the Arbiter and the Elites start looking for Master Chief, and also eventually run into this new foe, which, according to some leaks, are the species that created the Forerunners and the Flood. With the Elites also in the battle, it will be much more exhilarating that the predicted more subtle plot of Master Chief finding secrets about the Forerunners.
343i, I hope you take our voices in consideration, and make some steps for Elites in Halo 4.
