I dunno River, I found that most of the time I ran into at least one other Elite (not counting friends and clan). Bungie also statistically pulled that approximately 1 in 10 members played as Elites more often than a Spartan in Halo 3.

If 1 in 10 people played as a Elite most of the time, then that means that 9 out of 10 people played as a Spartan most of the time. I hate to say it, but we’re still a minority.
whenever I see Elites in Halo 4, I just… I don’t know. For some reason, I just don’t have the same feelings for them as I did in 2, 3, and Reach. I’ve been playing Halo since Halo 2, so Elites in Multiplayer has ALWAYS been there for me. and then I get to understand the Elites, their history, their motives, and then their gone. Just like that.
Whenever I saw Elites in Halo 4’s Campaign and Spartan Ops yesterday during E3, suddenly, I didn’t feel anything for them. It’s weird how them not being in Multiplayer has affected me so much that seeing them in Halo 4’s other modes makes me not even have a single feeling for them. It also makes me almost not want to use the Covie weapons. In Invasion and Elite Slayer in Reach, you’re using Covie weapons all the time. And now in Halo 4, using their guns while not even having they themselves be there… it’s weird.
I guess in the Halo 4 Trailer, when John punches the Elite in the face, that was 343i’s interpretation of doing that same thing to all of you. A part of Halo died in me. A minority part, yes, but a part no matter what.
For some who don’t care about Elites in Multiplayer because it’s just a minority, imagine this: Imagine losing your pinky finger; it doesn’t seem to be cared that much, heck you don’t even use it when playing Halo, but when it’s gone, a part of you left with it, literally. Now, imagine Elite players, loving Elites 4eva, and then, they’re gone. more than just a pinky left, their whole hand left with them. You’re most played species left, and a loved gametype Invasion is no longer possible. And to make it worse, that hand is actually alive, coming towards them, teasing them in the distance, and when it’s close enough to hold onto, it strangles you.
Let’s take this on another look: a lot of people were disappointed that Reach didn’t have 1-50 and instead had Arena. a lot of those people want 1-50 back and no more Arena. those people’s 1-50 is these people’s Elites.
Still praying they’re at least in Customs.
Sangheili To The End.

Well 1 in 10,000 players is still 1,000. And the Halo community is ALOT larger than 10,000 members. That’s a nice big chunk of people. Minority or no, it’s not a SMALL minority.

Halo 4 will not have online pass.

That is a PERFECT Analogy.
And I agree. When I see Covie Weapons in Spartan hands… It just feels out of place, completely wrong.
I’m not saying I’m not sad that the Elites have been axed from MP, but give 343 a break, they’re trying their best, but time and resource constraints means that they can’t cram everything every fan wants into the game. It sucks to be to not have your favorite thing in the game, I know, but lots of others (duel-wielding fans, people like me who wanted bots such as marines in MP) got ignored too because 343 has only enough time to give what the majority of fans want (duel-wielding was largely hated for making the duel-wielding guns worthless when used solo and taking away grenades and melee, not enough people cared about bots enough to have to implement them).

Great way to some it all up.
I promised myself back when the GI came out that if elites are not in multiplayer, I will not pick up the energy sword for at least 1 month. If it is within my power, I will not touch the energy sword, because to me, thats shameful. Only one species in the game uses that weapon, and it was their pride. For that weapon to be useable and not the other, thats shameful.
You say sangheilli to the end, well it appears that that is where we have reached.
I will add my voice to this and say I would like the return of the Elites in MP.
i have a feeling there will be elites vs forruner sentinals as in one of the videos, a sentinal (promethean knight)assasinated an elite.
> i have a feeling there will be elites vs forruner sentinals as in one of the videos, a sentinal (promethean knight)assasinated an elite.
I think that was in the campaign, atleast it could mean some elites will help us. leading upto Halo 5, wich can link the elites as playable.
Now I have this to say to my fellow elite fans, I still have some faith that they might be playable (though unlikley), I think you guys need to hear me out.
343 does care about its fanbase, they do care about the Elite fans, they do care about the 1-50 fans, they do care about the duel-weilding fans, and I think they have read this topic before.
now from what I know, they probabley where reluctant about makeing these decisions. because as Frank mentioned back in april, “We didn’t get a reaction we didn’t expect, and we understand how you all feel” (or something like that) and no the Elites did not reach there end. We still have halo 5,the chance for Halo 4 Dlc (wouldn’t count on it), and there mgiht be Halo 2 HD Remake. So look for to future guys. and now to my other fellow fans the spartans. I thank you guys for supporting the Elite Players,a nd as for you elite fans who are still going to get Halo 4 we can use the elite weapons as tribute.
now personaley I Play as both 50/50 and if the prometheans are playable. I’ll have to squeeze some way in to playa s all 3 in the next game. think about it.
So…as soon as Halo 5 forums come up, we are migrating there? Still rather disappointing about no Elites, but I did see this coming ever since Gameinformer. I wish for the best in Halo 5 and hope that they will return one day. Halo won’t be the same without them, but we will survive.
there are going to be elites in custom games.they hint it in this multiplayer trailer.

All i saw was what could possibly be a Spartan Ops mission. And the Carbine, thats great!

You do realize it’s just a game?
I don’t understand all this elite business which seems pretty strange as why would you limit your ability to have fun over what is essentially nonsense… Sounds like a cult in a video game _

when its says from fiction to competitive to campaign. When it says fiction, it shows and elite.
btw I was told that game informer revealed that the Abiding Truth has defeated the Arbiter.
NOTE: Ironically mercy’s sentence will come true: “You will die as every Arbiter did before you!”

Seriously?
Well, it wouldn’t surprise me to be honest. 343i aren’t the best writers in town.
> Let me start off by saying that the Elites are my favorite species in Halo. I always loved playing as an Elite in Halo 2 and 3 back in the day when I still had Xbox Live, and if I ever get Xbox Live back somehow, first thing I’m gonna do is play as an Elite in Reach.
>
> However, I understand the reasons why 343 cut out Elites for Halo 4. Namely, that implementing Elite player models is just too much work to please too little of the fanbase. I remember back in Halo 2 and 3 that I would be the only guy playing as an elite in at least 70% to 90% of the matches I played. Elites are awesome, but us Sangheili lovers have to admit to ourselves that we’re a minority, and 343 has to use it’s limited time and resources to craft a gaming experience that will satisfy the majority. Working on Elite player models will take away time that 343 could be using to work on other aspects of Halo 4 that need attention. So even though I’m a (tiny) bit disappointed, I’m not gonna gripe about it too much.
>
> Some DLC after the game is released for Elite player models or even “Sangheili Ops” could help please us Sangheili lovers and not cut into Halo 4 development time though, just a hopeful thought.
Well the player models wouldn’t be the problem, that would only take about 10 minutes to take the model from the campaign and put them into the multiplayer as a player model. The problem would be adjusting the unlock system to have elite permutations.
But I agree, maybe one or two Sangheili ops would be nice, heck, I’d settle for one or two chapters in a spartan ops mission.
Anyways I had an idea, what if we all send the exact same message to bs angel asking for one or two Sangheili ops missions? I’m willing to bet that if she see’s 10-20+ messages with the exact same title from different people then she will atleast open one.

I win.
