I’m still waiting for an Elite pre-order bonus. But now is the time, more then ever, to keep this thread alive! More people are coming into Waypoint and if they see this thread, they just might join us! We will keep this thread alive until they return. Here is to Elites in Halo 5!

I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem, but I’m having some trouble getting on the forums. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. This may be why this thread has slowed down a little.
It is important to keep telling 343 how much we want playable elites in halo and keeping this thread alive is defenetly a good way to do this. I’m not giving up hope on 343 until they direcly state elites will not be playable on Halo 4 when the game ships. I hope they will somehow release playable elites in some kind of DLC if they just don’t have the time to get them on the disc. 343 has to have relized a majority of their fans want playable elites. They have to discuss this issue with us, their fans, at one point. Please 343, this is something we really want. This thread shows it. Don’t dissapoint us.

I have a problem with the site too, I find that it can take up to 1 minute to load, or sometimes doesn’t load at all 
Has anyone heard about the online passes? Or is halo 4 not going to have those?
But I’m probably going to get one copy and share it with my brother but I’m really starting to loose faith in this. Killstreaks? Hit markers and grenade warnings?

I just saw a topic comparing the Spartan to Sangheili in terms of size, and the Elites are much larger than a Spartan IV, I think it’s safe to say that any hope of Elites being playable is gone D:
Unless the Spartans in Spartan Ops are smaller than normal Spartans, Elites aren’t playable

The Elites are not even taller than the Spartan 4’s or the Master Chief. They pretty much have the same equal amount of strength also which has been told in the books. Same goes for speed also…

this picture has a spartan & Elite next to each other, and the Elite is much bigger that the spartan (Maybe bad camera angle…)
To me it didn’t matter cause Elites are suppose to be taller than the Spartans. Hell, Ripa 'Moramee was over 9ft tall. The Elites are suppose to be 7-8ft range anyway. I wonder if Spec Ops is anything like Firefight like a custom game where you chose your enemies to kill and battle. I just wonder if that is true…will the Elites be in it as a chosen character and have your Covie buddies following you? I sure hope so.
Even if the elites are bigger in campaign, I don’t think it would be too much trouble to scale them down for multiplayer. I can understand that cannon gets in the way, but i think they could adapt the story a little or just kind of turn a blind eye where they don’t play into the story but they are still playable.
Whenever I learned that 343 was taking playable elites out of halo 4, it was like they were taking something away from me. In H3 I always play as an elite and in Reach Sangheili was my preferred species. In H4 they are forcing us to be spartans all the time. Its taking away something that made me feel different and stand out from the crowd. Playable elites add diversity to halo and if they are removed from halo 4 its just going to be a more boring game. I don’t think 343 would want this so I just don’t understand why they decided to take out a cool feature like this. They need to discuss this topic with their fans. 343, if you see this, please just bring this up so we can get a clear statement whether they are in and understand your decision. We may not agree with your reasoning but when do people always agree anyways. Please 343, after this thread, we deserve some answers.

Either that Elite is an abnormally tall freak, or the S-IVs are just as tall as the average Human. (Shorter, even, if that Elite is supposed to be around 7ft tall…)
Let me start off by saying that the Elites are my favorite species in Halo. I always loved playing as an Elite in Halo 2 and 3 back in the day when I still had Xbox Live, and if I ever get Xbox Live back somehow, first thing I’m gonna do is play as an Elite in Reach.
However, I understand the reasons why 343 cut out Elites for Halo 4. Namely, that implementing Elite player models is just too much work to please too little of the fanbase. I remember back in Halo 2 and 3 that I would be the only guy playing as an elite in at least 70% to 90% of the matches I played. Elites are awesome, but us Sangheili lovers have to admit to ourselves that we’re a minority, and 343 has to use it’s limited time and resources to craft a gaming experience that will satisfy the majority. Working on Elite player models will take away time that 343 could be using to work on other aspects of Halo 4 that need attention. So even though I’m a (tiny) bit disappointed, I’m not gonna gripe about it too much.
Some DLC after the game is released for Elite player models or even “Sangheili Ops” could help please us Sangheili lovers and not cut into Halo 4 development time though, just a hopeful thought.
