I guess I will be playing Halo 2 PC and Halo 3 quite a bit after Halo 4. (Maybe a little Reach)
But thank you 343 for taking my favorite game series and -Yoink!- all over it. While the gameplay of Halo 4 looks solid, it won’t be the same. Halo has become but just a shadow of itself in my eyes.

@kaine - Elites were not part of the equation to begin with. They stated it time and again for a reason. I’m with you in supporting the return of them in later games, but all the support in the world isn’t going to alter someone’s decision once cogs are set in motion.
@Ciaran - Good luck with that. And yes, that is a sincere wish.
@All elite likers - They stated from the get-go many months ago elites were not going to be playable in any regard. Do not expect this to change because of a single thread. Harsh, I know, and in all honesty I am a little sad to see them go, but you don’t know what is in store down the road and 343 has always endorsed a policy to put the game they wish to create forward. Gamers come and go like the wind at times, but in the overall scheme of things? Games are not the only aspect of the Halo Universe which feature elites, I’d recommend fulfilling your needs in those other arenas.
Man, I feel bad. But then again, I’ll forget all about it with all the new Forerunner tech and kewl new vehicles to pilot.
My god some of you are pathetic. I’m sorry but it is really sad if you honestly care that much about playing as a friggin elite in MP. Don’t be such drama queens about something that honestly will be forgotten about in no time flat. I’m sure the game will be just as epic with or without elites in MP so untwist your -Yoink!-, wipe your tears, and move on with your life. There are things in the world that actually matter.
Now, now, we know there is no need to be so dramatic about it, but it isn’t necessary to be rude, we just like to play as Elites, nothing more, and we are gonna miss then certainly. Also, I don’t think they will be forgotten as quick as you say, or, at all. How can you forget the most memorable species in the franchise?. And yes, Halo 4 will be epic, but we will miss being… well, not human.

Firstly, welcome to waypoint. Secondly, I’d recommend you change how you post. Going into threads and acting this way isn’t going to get you very far. Thirdly, the people on here enjoy Elites and they can discuss it to their hearts content, what is important to you may not be to them and vice versa.
Actually I completely agree with the OP. I’d love for the Elite models just to be scaled down to a Spartan’s size. Then they could stand straight, and we could get into some cool Elite armor. Hopefully Halo 5…
Reading some of the early posts of this thread and seeing people saying things like ‘I’m not buying Halo 4 if I can’t play as an Elite in MP’ kinda irked me. There is so much greatness in Halo and I just don’t understand why such a little thing could spark such an uproar from some people. The best thing about Elites in Halo 3 MP for me was hearing their funny death cries. Other than that they didn’t really add any substance to the game. And in Reach they were pretty much just there for the sake of being there. Not to mention Elite Slayer is one of the worst game modes in Halo history. Just my opinion I guess.
Well, some of the early posts in this thread were a bit… overzealous (lol). And while I respect your opinion, and agree in the death cries part, I must disagree in that they didn’t add substance to the game. Having both species, humans and elites added variety to the MM experience, and they were vastly used in videos, machinimas, screenshots… Elites were awesome to use in those.
I suppose I’ll juyst have to play as a boring human. I guess I’ll spawn with Elite Weapons and Run around killing people and yelling “Wort Wort Wort”

Yea I guess I can agree with you on that. I can understand where people are coming from when they want to see elites in MP, but if 343 thinks it’s best to leave them out then we just have to trust them. They are pros after all and have been working on this for three years. I would bet the decision to leave them out wasn’t an easy one to make. Also, sorry for coming off as a jerk in my first post.

Srry for the double post, but:
When the game comes out we should make a “Clan” of sorts based around playing with Elite weaponry.
I still have hope 343 will listen to their fans. Maybe they will get out some Sangheili based DLC. Remember they still havn’t gone over the multiplayer yet. I at least hope they tell us why they decided to take them out. They have gotten tremendous support to bring them back and I can understand if its just too late or if it somehow just couldn’t get in the story (and can see how the infinity plays a bigger role than I first thought after seeing the new trailer). Hopefully they see they have made an error in this game and put playable elites in the next one. They need to realize how much we want playable elites back and do something about it.

Well they could be doing is like they said halo 4 is a beginning of a new trilogy. And when halo 1 came out there was only Spartans. So im thinking is that in halo 5 or even 6 come out they will have elites because halo 2 and 3 had elites and they will just remake of what comes out.
