It has no real benefit other than for a small minority of players to play as the elite model in their role play. I just think that would be a waste of resources and manhours which could be spent making sure matchmaking which the majority plays to be better.

So your saying it is wrong to be playing as something els that isn’t human and that due to past events like Halo 3 and Reach, you think it will be impossible to even implement elites in it. Well, ever thought for a single moment that adding more variety as to what we could play as could earn 343i extra money because people could play as both the Spartans and Elites without each other over powering the other? Think about it, the Halo 4 Elites are bound to stand up more straighter, they are not as powerful as they were in Reach so that makes them like the Spartan 4’s, they have better hit boxes than that of Halo 3, and can move the same speed as the Spartans also. Oh, and lets not forget the height too which wont be an issue.

That makes “some” sense maybe the’ll use that for halo 5 if this situation turned out to be as bad as most people thought, keep in mind though halo 4 still has other fests to go through with ebfore relase.
You’re badly misinterpreting what I’ve posted.
Of course it’s not impossible to have elites in matchmaking, however that is not the approach 343 is taking. What I’m saying is that it’s “Pointless” to have playable elites as an option in forge/customs as it’s utterly pointless if they’re not being ultilzed in matchmaking which we know they’re not. So on that basis there’s no real reason to have them as again it will be a waste of resources.

You do realize that cannon and multiplayer are separate? I have no idea where you’re getting this information from, they have bigger hitboxes and move the same speed? Oh please at least have some common sense in your arguments…
If there are no elites in Multiplayer, that puts Invasion, Firefight Versus, Elite Slayer, and any other creative mixed or all elite gametype possibilities out the window. I understand some people didn’t like Elite Slayer, but Invasion was one of the more popular playlists in Reach.

Firefight isn’t in it anyway. But I love Elite slayer because its one of those small windows where I can play them. And Invasion is completely wonderful, best thing about Reach! All the more reason we should have Elites come back1

Pretty much invasion is indeed one of the only fun activities to do on Reach. Plus they will receive more maps on that game type as well. Still, I cant help but let my mind wonder in imagination how Elites and Spartans working together on such a game type…maybe against rebels or something…?

Here’s some common sense for you:
We shouldn’t have to sit here and argue about whether elites should be in MM or not. It should be a given right fro players to express themselves through player model diversity. Believe it or not, some of us do not enjoy playing as a Spartan. We should be allowed the opportunity to be different from the general population. We Sangheili players do not care for being a spartan in Matchmaking or anything else. That is why Halo 3, even after almost 5 years, is still preferred for true Sangheili players over Halo: Reach.
Halo 2 and 3 were the glory days of Halo, and eiltes. However it doesn’t seem like those days are going to return anytime soon.

This thread would be moved to the General Discussion topic.
You’re entitled to nothing really so saying “we should” is just ridiculous. The competitive community have been asking for the ability to alter weapon settings, aim acceleration, a specter mode and dedicated servers. The forging community have been requesting a lot of additional features also and some of these aren’t practical but others would add a lot to the game. No one is entitled to any of this as it’s the decision of 343 what they deem to be worthwhile and practical. The ability to play as elites is well below this list of things in terms of being worthwhile.
I would stop playing this fantasy game of pretending you deserve to be able to play as Elites and how Halo2/3 were the “glory days?” I do find it bizarre how you prefer one game to another over if you can play as a Spartan or Elite. For me personally I care for the game mechanics, network code and map quality over trivial things like player skins.
I finally got my Ascetic for my Elite in Halo 3, now I need the Commando armor, then i I’m happy. I still try for the Elite armor in Halo 3 because the hard ones to get are the best looking in my opinion. Halo 3 and 2 had he best system to play Elites, which is all the time. They weren’t limited to a a few gametypes, they were everywhere. you could go to Social Big Team and see a couple of Elites most of the time. One of my big problems with Reach is the exclusion of this system. If Elites ever do come back, they have to with glory! So if they come back, they should with this system!
