I very glad you approve. Im surprised to see that this thread has stayed alive along as it has, and its heart warming to see the supporters. Funny thing though, my petition (go back a few pages for the link) wasnt taken to very well.

I will be happy if 343i takes notice of the popularity this forum is recieving from the elite community.
That is good to know. There are elite players all over halo’s community that are willing to help us achieve this uphill goal. Thanks to everyone for posting here and supporting our cause.

The points in this thread though were to remove these silly gimmicks like regenerating health, additional speed and melee strength, until there were no intrinsic differences between the two. The fluff doesn’t really support it either. Spartans and Elites were always meant to be similar, Bungie just decided to be edgy with this, like a lot of things in Reach.
As for differences in hitboxes and stuff, like someone else proposed before - take the Reach Elite (Which has had all these silly gimmicks removed), and reduce their size to Spartan size. The Reach Elite appears to have similar proportions unlike the Halo 3 Elite, but is just too large.

Its not just the elite community anymore either, im from the spartan community (Ok, the “even small then the elite community” ODST community to be exact but i dont see the odst helmet or armor returning in halo 4 witch makes me sad) Many or the comments from this thread are from the spartin community who also want the elites back.
I dont think its possible for 343i to NOT take note, this thread got so massive in so small a time its crazy. This has got to be one of the largest threads on the site (For its time frame at least.)

Not unless 343i was to change the looks of the elites if they were in Halo 4. Basicly mold the figures together, then change how the hitbox is going to effect them.
I think that being able to play as an elite in Halo 4 would make for more diverse gameplay, provided that careful attention was paid to make sure that the strengths and weaknesses balanced each other out. I am in favor of this, but seeing as spartan fanboys and unskilled players will take any excuse they can get to keep the Elites out of matchmaking and cover up for their incompetence, that is unlikely to happen.
The only answer then is complete equality, and hopefully 343i will draw inspiration from some of the solutions that have been discussed in this thread.
The option to play as a Sangheili has been a privilege that many have enjoyed. True, not everyone is a fan. There are always critics. But for those of us who do enjoy this, and for those of us who plan on getting Halo 4, I believe that it is right for us to continue to have this choice. You say that you listen to your fan base - show us, please. This variety is something that has helped make this franchise so enjoyable; It adds another side to an amazing story.
Also, I think, in the post Human-Covenant war era, relations between the Sangheili and Humans will be very important. Glasslands has gone into this, but I think that it will play a larger role in the Reclaimer Trilogy. Elites can’t just be forgotten, especially in Multiplayer. 343 has mentioned that they even have a canonical reason for why Red and Blue fight each other; I’m sure that they can work Elites in somehow.

Exactly, to get rid of the elites would destroy the whole story, and it would hurt the item that made halo halo. And its funny, you would think all the spartan fans who are so profusely hating against the new items in the game, they would fight for something that made halo 3 as awesome as it was.
