Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Halo 4 run’s on a heavily modified Halo Reach engine. Meaning functionality for the following is already in the game:

 • The Elite HUD, (need’s an update to Halo 4’s)
 • Reloading animation’s (need’s update for new weapon’s)
 • First Person View (would require a texture swap to the new Elite model)

And Viola!

All they need is an update, not an overhaul.

Exactly, they already said that they were running on the Reach engine, but updating it to work much more harder than ever before to support the new game. It shouldn’t be hard to update such things as the HUD and other necessarily things.

Thats not correct… They would need more time to do this, its not a simply update… They have to rig the new elites again, they have to model the first person arms and more…
No, accept it now that elites are not playable.

They are making the mm in-canon! And they have confirmed that Elites are not playable in MM… MM is aboard UNSC Infinity, there are no Elites there! And it’s not a few months away from launch that 343 is changing all of this… Deal with it! I like playing Elits but this time we will play as Spartan IV!

They have said to be out of Competitive, not the entire MM system, meaning we still have a chance for the Elites to still be around, and this thread will still continue on anyways. If not, than this thread will be passed on to Halo 5 and 6 if it has too.

No, they have saif that they are out of Multiplayer. Competitive is a another description for MP. And David Ellis confirmed me twice that Elites are NOT Playable. Is that so hard to understand? I dont get why you cant accept that?

Some people cannot accept it because some people like myself have played as an elite since Halo2, and we do not like being forced to play as something we don’t like.

However, even though I am a Sangheili player, the spartans in Halo 4 look pretty sick, so I personally don’t care if I have to play as one. As long as the gameplay is like Halo 3’s, I don’t care. It appears to be this way, and Halo will become what it is supposed to be, and surpass the countless failures of Reach.

I wish people would stop pretending they know what they’re talking about.

Maybe 343 could do it, I don’t know but the bottom line is they don’t want to and that’s that.

Okay, just a few things.

 1. Spartans, shut up. You claim we’re being annoying with this, but look at yourselves? And you don’t have to look at the damn thread.

 2. Quit -Yoinking!- about Reach. It was innovative and I, personally, thought it was worth the $80 I spent for the limited edition.

 3. Spartans, I hear you all -Yoink- about having to play as an elite during SOME gametypes, so again, shut up about us complaining that we have to play as something we don’t like for the entire duration of the game.

You seriously need to accept that elites are not playable anymore in Halo.

In Halo 2/3 you should have accepted that Elites were playable to begin with. YOUR complaining got them kicked out, and now our complaining will have to bring them back.

Amen.

It would be a miracle if they put in Elites.

Bottom line; don’t hold your breath.

huh? I never cared about the stupid dinos since halo2. But its funny that they are now out of Halos Multiplayer. And its funny to see you kids here crying about them.
I simply wanna help you guys to accept the fact that they are are not playable in Halo4.

That’s probably because you couldn’t kill them, and then started hating on them like most of the Spartan Community, which will be the only fanbase in Halo when Halo 4 comes out anyway.

So, do you have anything to add to this thread, or are you and your Spartan buddies going to keep coming in here (the ONLY Elite thread, BTW) and act like smarmy -Yoinks!-?

Look, I know things in things in this thread are getting heated up and I prefer this whole thing to stop right now. The Elite players and I are going to continue on with this thread no matter what has been told by a 343 member or not. Spartans can either accept that they will not change our minds no matter what and move on, or help us out in this cause for equality. Either way, we wont be backing down anytime soon.

Just ignore him. If what he says is ture, he’s just in here because he’s bored. Which is his own fault to begin with, and now he’s bugging you.

Reception to Thel 'Vadam’s inclusion within the Halo series has been mixed both critically and by fans. The image that Bungie produced for the marketing of Halo 2 prior to its release was one featuring John-117 defending fighting the Covenant on Earth. Once the game was released, this was shown to be the case until the level, The Arbiter, when the player abruptly took the role of the Arbiter of the Covenant. While many review publications praised the added dimension towards the Covenant and increased the complexity of the plot[33][34], this decision still had its fair share of critics. Many fans of the series and critics were displeased with the abrupt switch in character or thought its execution was poor.[35] Some believed it ultimately distracted the player from Earth’s fate.[36]

Responding to some of the negative backlash, Bungie decided not to include levels designed solely from Thel 'Vadam’s perspective into Halo 3. Though he was retained as a playable character for co-op campaign. However, this decision also received a mixed reception from fans and critics. Some believed that the exclusion of Thel 'Vadam as a main playable character greatly diminished the Sangheili’s role in the plot, and as a result, erased what might have been an incredibly interesting addition to Halo 3’s plot. While others believed Thel 'Vadam was much more likable as a secondary character.
Reception of the Arbiter
Bungie developers have commented on some of the negative backlash towards the use of Thel 'Vadam in the Halo series. Jaime Griesemer stated “I’d much rather experiment and do something surprising, and not have everybody appreciate it, than just turn the crank and do another alien war movie with a space marine,”. Community lead Brian Jarrard attributed some of the fan backlash to a discord between the game’s marketing and the actual gameplay. “I think, even more so than playing as the Arbiter, the thing that people were disappointed with and angry about is that they were promised this experience, through the marketing, of being really backs against the wall, Earth’s under siege, we’re going to do all we can to save our home planet… In reality, the game only had two missions that actually did that.” Referring to Halo 2’s cliffhanger ending, Griesemer said, “I think if we’d been able to finish that last couple of missions and get you properly back on Earth, a lot of the reaction would have been placated.”

Thel 'Vadam is included in MSNBC’s list of the “Top 5 Best Aliens in Video Games.”
