Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

elites must stay in halo 4 they are awesome.

> No, never again. People are complaining about Sprint melee and Bleedthrough, and you want to add Elites back in? Are you mad or have you never played Halo 3? Not only was it annoying listening to kids talk about how AWESOME their Elite was.

No.

Im pretty sure more little kids played as spartans in halo 3. You should either mute them or man up.

Players who complain they can’t headshot an elite because of where their head is have to improve their skills then.

I’m looking forward to the customization options, not just for Sangheili (If they’re in MM at all), but for Spartans as well.

> I’m looking forward to the customization options, not just for Sangheili (If they’re in MM at all), but for Spartans as well.

The one thing that I am happy that reach did with elites was make sure that their armor is fully in canonical uniform. I feel like sangheili pieces should not be customizable. You get the full suit of armor, that’s it.

Agreed, Halo 3’s Elite’s neck issue was bad, but it was the poor net-code that blew it out of proportion in SWAT, and the neck issue itself was Bungie’s laziness in designing their hit boxes.

Point is with time and care Sangheli would be great addition’s to multiplayer.

Customization may fit with the changes that happen post Halo 3 though. How many sets of new armour do they have left to go around, and what happens when peices get damaged? Can they keep up with supply? The whole technology issue could have a visual effect on them. It might help to make people who have not read the books understand their situation post Halo 3 to have them go from shiny armour to patchy and slightly worn suits. Not Brute style armour plates, but a bit more rough and mismatched than usual.

Or if not that, then it might reflect how they are becoming more pragmatic towards warfare. Designing armour that is efficient and practical rather than flamboyant and showey. For instance, tired of Snaky Jones constantly sniping your bright gold Field Masters, or the bits and peices that stick out all over the place catching on your environment, and being used as grapple points?

i have always been a spartan but i love elites and i don’t think they should be taken out i want to see them be able to play in any playlist anygame halo 3 status except maybe swat

> > Invasion would be pretty cool for elites and elite slayer n all like in reach. But most gametypes should be forced Spartans only. Elites should only appear in infection, invasion, customs games, forge and elite slayer.
>
> That’s effectively what Reach gave us and it was an INSULT.
>
> Literally, Halo Reach was a massive kick in the groin for Elite fans.
>
> Every time someone has a complaint about why Elites don’t belong in Halo 4 it’s “Oh, well, they are too big” Yeah, they are too big in REACH, but they don’t have to be in Halo 4. DIFFERENT game, DIFFERENT models.

That’s why if there were two models for invasion type maps (8’6" Elite) and standard (7’4" Elite) both camps would be happy. Who cares if it’s in multi-player, it’s not part of the canon! And as we’re downsizing Elite why not downsize Brutes for multi-player as well?

What is the point in having 2 models? I don’t see what the issue is here. Why can’t they be scaled down to match Spartan heights?

> Added Background of my personal experience:
> Back when I was a mere child playing Halo 2, my elite was White and Green with the Clover emblem. Because, in my little naive mind I figured there would be something like Ireland in the vast deserts of Sanghelios. Looking back it makes me chuckle, but it’s kind of saddening to think my time playing as an elite could come to a close. I grew up playing as an Elite. I learned their culture as I delved deeper into the Halo Universe, and the more I learned about them the more attached I became. Others have started to do the same. Sangheili deserve a spot in this future trilogy, and I can only hope 343i starts it out right, so other generations can have the same experience I had.

Oh dear.

im a Spartan player, for sure. Spartans are way cooler than elites in my opinion. but honestly, it would upset me to see elites not in multiplayer.

HOWEVER; what i really want for multiplayer is the addition of a 3rd playable species: Jiralhanae (Brutes)

Totally agree with you OP. I miss playing with my elite friends in Halo 3. Good times. Ever since reach, I have hidden myself in custom games so my friends and I could play as elites. It’s sad that we were disposed for a more classic feel when Reach isn’t anything like CE. I hope to see Halo 4 go back to what I used to delve myself into Halo for. I already quit Reach due to playing as only a spartan.

Note to all spartan fans: What if you could only play as a spartan in one gametype? You wouldn’t like it, and neither do we.

No thanks. It wasn’t just SWAT that had problems with hit boxes. Spartans only please.

Let the Elites go the way of the dinos.

Who says the hitboxes couldn’t be fix. Also you shouldn’t be so hard headed. What if spartans could no longer be playable and you had to play as elites? You wouldn’t like it.

I was 10 years old. Give me a break. Back then I was the stereotypical elite lol.

Well you have indeed softened my position with that post, but I’m still a little old fashioned when it comes to uniforms. I’d rather see them in their flashy and vibrant uniforms, but if it doesn’t turn out that way, I won’t feel so bad about it.

Yeah I play it in Halo Reach already. It’s called Elite Slayer. It’s a plasma nade and needler spamming mess. There’s a lot of things to abuse in this gametype but it’s a joke if you think it has any skill.

My last game of Elite Slayer 25 and 4 for +21 - but I didn’t like it

Halo 4 - Spartan combat only please. This comes from someone who was top 100 in the world at one point for needler kills in Halo 3 also when Halocharts was active. They have NO SKILL

It’s really simple to fix, just take the Halo 3 set up, stand the elites upright, and make them the same height as the SPARTAN IVs. Now you’ve got Spartans and Elites at the same height with a fair hitbox (Even though it was fine to begin with) and human weapon starts.

Is this halo 3? No. Did we say we wanted an elite only game type? No. We openly said that reach was an insult to the elite community specifcally because the only game types where elites were featured were the elite slayer (which was rarely chosen) and invasion.

Seing as how you were in the top 100, i thought you might have some sense. I was proven wrong when you said spartan combat only. Do you not think 343 is competent enough to find a good balance?
