With the canon taken care of it is possible.
Spartan IVs the same size as elites standing upright. Same health and shielding. It’s perfect.

Sangheili cannot be outcasted in any Halo games, for as Avu mentioned, the fanbase is growing and a lot of people love to play as Sangheili, I for one went furious when I discovered that I could no longer play as Sangheili, in the gametypes like before.
343i need to listen to what we want, as a community, where Bungie failed. For years we have begged Halo’s developers for Phantoms, Pelicans and Sprits, which we have wanted, and they just put what they thought was best, not what we thought.
As Avu also stated, if you outcast Sangheili, you will lose a good proportion of your community, which is the complete opposite of what you want to do, especially with this being your first game.
Come on, make it count, make your Sangheili fanbase happy, and do not be biased like Bungie.
> @ nicholas cave, Dont look now, but youve got 1337 posts XD
Haha. Yeah… I noticed. Then I went and ruined it. Oh well. I guess we can’t all be leet. xP
I have started a thread (3 hours ago) with a poll asking anyone if they wanted the elites back. Below it is a careful crafted message to 343 (this thread included in the message) stating how much you guys want the Sangheili back in matchmaking.
I would like you all to vote on this poll, as it is adressed to 343, and when we have enough votes i am thinking about sending it in an email to 343 themselves so our voices may be louder heard. While i suspect the moderators have been keeping an eye on these posts, i doubt they will think much unless we send it to them directly. So please vote and comment here, so we can get there attention: http://halo.xbox.com/Forums/yaf_postst63939p2_Dear-343i--from-the-elite-community.aspx
I agree. I love killing you Elite -Yoinks!-

And we love killing spartans

Hey, as long as he agrees.
This is one of the most popular topics on the forums. Good job everyone. Hopefully this will all not be for nothing.

Since a moderator visited this thread I am assuming we have been noticed by people who have sway in 343i. At least regarding the website lol.

I hope so. This is an opportunity for 343i to make spartan and elite players happy like halo 3. Halo 4 WILL lose support from elite players if they ignore elites and they know it. I have faith they will do the right thing and bring elites back into MM as CUSTOMIZABLE characters.
The voice of the Sangheili is not so easily silenced, or ignored. I believe Elites will return in some capacity, though the extent of their role remains yet to be seen.
No, never again. People are complaining about Sprint melee and Bleedthrough, and you want to add Elites back in? Are you mad or have you never played Halo 3? Not only was it annoying listening to kids talk about how AWESOME their Elite was, it was a pain in the -Yoink- when the entire enemy team was Elites. You couldn’t shoot the back of their head, or hit their neck with any weapon, and just trying to get a headshot on one at all was a pain.
The Sangheili Community has been here since Halo 2, you cannot simply make them go away because some Spartan Player thought it was slightly unfair, when really, it’s pretty balanced.
I’m pretty sure the hitboxes were the same, also, that was a result of the elites being made to hunch over so that they would be the same height. Thanks for your feedback though, it will help 343 if they decide to put Elites in the game.
Keep it up, people!

Just because you can’t find the head of an elite doesn’t make it impossible for someone to kill them. I mean I know we’re good, but you give us too much credit.

How are Elites in any way comparable to those issues?
> Are you mad or have you never played Halo 3? Not only was it annoying listening to kids talk about how AWESOME their Elite was,
Then mute them. Or make fun of them. Take your pick. You’ll never hear me bragging about it online though.
> it was a pain in the -Yoink!- when the entire enemy team was Elites. You couldn’t shoot the back of their head, or hit their neck with any weapon, and just trying to get a headshot on one at all was a pain.
I had entirely no issues with scoring headshots on them in general. As for doing it from behind, if you remembered that their hitboxes were the same as the Spartan’s one and aimed slightly higher than you would think would be rear headshot for them, it could be done. They have the same hitboxes as Spartans, and you can headshot Spartans from behind, so it was possible. The neck glitch? How many times would you say that that lead to your demise in multiplayer? It is harder to hit that area than it is to hit the head itself. It is nothing but blind luck if you pass a rocket through there. It’s got to be like a one in thousand event or something.
And besides, these are issues which can be easily cleared up by refining their character model.

“Oh no! There was a glitch in ONE Halo game with the neck that isn’t there in the other 2 games the model appears in, that ONE game ruins their possible existence to me!”
Not even that, TRYING to hit the neck glitch I’d have to fire like 10 shots at an Elite, or set my grenades to recharge. I only hit it ONCE in the 3000+ games of Halo 3 MM I played.
Halo 3 Elites were just modeled terribly, they stuck their heads in front of their bodies, instead of just letting them stand natively like Reach (which happens to be SPARTAN SHAPED), and simply scaling them down 80%.
The BR was a 4 shot machine in Halo 2, and was an inconsistent spread-thing that more likely gave 5-6 shots even to skilled players who’s aim was spot on. Different games can be handled differently. If 343i takes into account that Halo 3 was a VERY MINOR mistake, they can fix it, and move on with everyone’s lives.
Remember trying to land consistent headshots with the Sniper? No matter whether a Spartan OR an Elite it was notoriously frustrating, especially when it wasn’t your skill that was the issue.
Also, you can shoot the back of an Elite’s head in Halo 3. It’s not hard, you just aim for the top of the hump. That same spot you would aim at the barely a quarter of a Spartan’s head you have to shoot (Spartans also had a much smaller area you could hit the head from behind)
Alot of us have been playing as Elites since Halo 2, and in Halo 2, Elites had head hitboxes close to twice the size of Spartan ones, putting us at a HUGE disadvantage, far more significant than Spartans vs Elites in Halo 3 we just TOOK it, no complaints.
In fact, often we were called Noobs for choosing the disadvantageous model instead of using every opportunity to win. Then in Halo 3 we were called Noobs for using a player model we were “more likely” to win with (yeah right, it might affect ONE kill every 10 or so games, but that’s it), instead of challenging ourselves with the disadvantageous model.
Just face it, people who complain so ridiculously about Elites as you have in your post are fanboys, and whiners.
There would be no issue in putting them back in if they just made them like Spartans. This would make the spartan community unable to complain that they are faster or that their heads are hunched over so i cant see it. Reach made them completely different therefore making the similarities between them vague. If they were adjusted to fit the MP standards then all you would have to do is shoot at their over sized helmets.

People are going to complain no matter what 343 does. Better to appeal something to the fans that no one can come up any good argument aginst than damage the game itself. Lets face it, reach is screwed as soon as the bleedthrough is removed… or at least slayer is. And sprint has been in every first person shooter that has been remotely succesful, why not halo? And melee, really? Seriously guys, if i hit you with the but of my gun, in the face, or the balls, or especially the back, you will die. Especially if im a one ton killing machine, get over it.
Okay, about seven people have responded to that one comment, it was honest feedback, let him be.
for the record I agree with all of you.
