Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> > Not even a mysterious comment from Frank O’ Connor
>
> Exactly, look at all the info he’s posting on NeoGAF then compare it to the amount of posts he has on here. (below 50 I think)
> I’d rather he post here, but since he obviously likes NeoGAF more then at least say something about it on there. <.<

Don’t start this, its obvious that if he posts here hes going to get flooded by users, halogaf at least permits him to be in a forum without the constant harassing of users (most of the time at least).

That we like it or not, people will always use elites to dump their own mistakes or their inability to aim at something that is not human.

> That we like it or not, people will always use elites to dump their own mistakes or their inability to aim at something that is not human.

Ah yes, just like some of the times I remember on Halo 3. Being the only Elite on the team and was betrayed just because I was different. I mean honestly…Cant we just play as whatever we want without all the damn hassle?

I’ve never been betrayed on Halo 3 unless it was an accident (barring Team Rockets, of course, but that was inevitable). Then again, I haven’t played Halo 3 as much as I want to yet…

> Because its been discussed in another thread. There’s nothing for them to say. Elites are not going to be in MM. That and if we’re starting this up again, why should the elites be present aboard the Infinity? During a truce… when the arbiter and ship master are going home with all of the one’s loyal to them? (ending of Halo 3)

What thread?
Obviously they need to clarify this info in a WB, so the mass of Sangheili fans will see it.
The G.I. article said COMPETITIVE MM. There is a difference and, it didn’t mention anything else.

I’ve already given perfectly good reasons as to why the Sangheili can be in the MM storyline.
Why are you bringing it back up?

> Canon reasons it’s possible for Sangheili to be on the UNSC Infinity:
> -5 years have past since the events of Halo 3.
> -They’ve traded representatives.
> -The Sangheili and Humans have an alliance, though it isn’t entirely stable.
> -Servants of the Abiding Truth (religious, anti-Human Sangheili sect)
> -The S-IV’s training arena is a simulation, if they can simulate a Scarab/weapons/vehicles I think it can make a Sangheili.

> I think its a lot more safer not to question her about it just yet. Just to be on the safe side of things you know…for now

Why? O_o
It’s not like I’m going to jump her in some back alley and scream: “Y u no like the Elitez!!!”

It’d just be a paragraph with a couple questions. No hate what so ever.

> Don’t start this, its obvious that if he posts here hes going to get flooded by users, halogaf at least permits him to be in a forum without the constant harassing of users (most of the time at least).

I’m not hating on Frankie for not posting on here.
I’d rather he post on here, but if he’s more comfortable on NeoGAF then that’s fine.
Please just address some of the major issues/threads that are over here, instead of ignoring them.
Hell he can address an issue, from here, on NeoGAF if he wants.

> I’ve never been betrayed on Halo 3 unless it was an accident (barring Team Rockets, of course, but that was inevitable). Then again, I haven’t played Halo 3 as much as I want to yet…

Ah, well then you should be considered lucky then. Halo 2’s time wasn’t much funner but at least they sure did beat Reach’s Matchmaking stuff.

All I am hoping for is some kind of confirmation on weather or not Elites are in Halo 4. And if 343i was smart, they would listen to the people on the Halo 4 forums biggest thread.

It has been confirmed that they are in Campaign, They’re not in Competitive Multiplayer and there is hope they are in Non-competitive. Hopefully 343 will tell us soon

If they’re in Campaign if confirmed, I’m wondering what characters we’ll play as like in H3 and what rank and names they are. To me if I guess it maybe ground units or ones like Spec Ops that are sent there to dangerous missions plus this mission is dangerous. Or it could be N’tho and Usze again from H3, minus Arbiter. I like to hear more owo

yes…hopefully

I wonder if we will ever get a spin-off like ODST except where it focuses on the Arbiter or any other Elite. You go around killing these new enemies or fighting the Elites who rebelled at the truce between the Humans and Covenant.

> The limitations of playing as an Elite in Halo Reach are indeed disheartening. Going back to the Halo 3 method of playing as an elite during regular Matchmaking can be the solution. Not only does that add to the customization, but it can also be explained canonically. I understand that 343i is in the process of delivering a canonical explanation for the Red and Blue Spartans fighting each other. The relationship between Humans and Sangheili can be used to add Elites into this mix. Since the UNSC and the Sangheili are allied, having them use human weapons is anything but non-canon. Or if you would like to take the reverse side of the coin, ONI is supplying the Servants of Abiding Truth with weaponry, which is human as well. This can easily be weaved into the plot without creating a mess.

Just thought I’d highlight the word 343i knows nothing about. So don’t expect much to follow on from what you’ve seen previously.

> > > Elites should return in halo 4 MP, they are a vital part of the halo MP experience. As for bots, that would be pointless as it would only be a challenge for noobs.
> >
> > Have you ever had a bot find you and give you a head-shot in mere seconds?
>
> Yes. Halo 2 Legendary first run. Those effin jackals.

Like the marine in outskirts says: “The only thing worse than jackals, are jackals with sniper rifles!”

He soon learned the horrible truth behind those words.

> I don’t see how 343i can just ignore 146 pages and 400+ thanks in the OP alone. This thread has been going for months now, it kind of disappoints me that they don’t even say anything in here, let alone put Elites in -Yoink!- MP.

Yes, it is starting to irk me. The worst part however, is that they don’t even awcknoledge us. After seeing this thread alive for so long, and having it being the largest active thread that is on topic at this time, i am concerned for the lack of information.

I have said since this thread started, just tell us. Just drop the bomb, a straight up answer, yes or no. Thats all i want. Thats all i need. All they are doing is delaying the inevidable.

Eventually of course, we will find out the answer, the problem is, i think they are deliberately waiting until its too late. They are waiting until there is no time to change anything before they give us an answer.
That is what i see, and believe. Whether or not its the truth, we might never know.

343i, look at the support. Look at the arguments against, read for yourself that we obviuously want them back (save for a select few who go back to halo 3’s argument every single time.)

Bring back the elites, please.

Silent

PS: Guys, where in the name of **** is Ender Ghost? I havent seen him post in at least twenty pages…

I would prefer progression for Elites rather than the regression introduced in Reach. Don’t sell me the new spartans at the cost of the Elites.

> I would prefer progression for Elites rather than the regression introduced in Reach. Don’t sell me the new spartans at the cost of the Elites.

yay i get to say it again
It would be a great disgrace
for our sangheli race
if another species took its place

> I would prefer progression for Elites rather than the regression introduced in Reach. Don’t sell me the new spartans at the cost of the Elites.

Agreed. The customization in Halo 3 was far superior, despite some of the…less-appealing helmets. I did like the Ranger class Elite in Halo Reach.

Ok. Halo 3 had customisation. But Reach did have a better system.

Spartan III’s were always customisable as they showed in the campaign. But Elites progressed through different armour as a show of their rank at the time.
Right now, they are a neglected part of Halo Reach and a forgotten dream from Halo 3. They needed more armour types. Us pre-order fans only got Officer. Where was Honour guard? Arbiter?

And if you do decide to bring them back. Don’t replace the shotgun with a plasma repeater because FYI. NOT THE SAME. And give them a separate playlist. I would play that every day.

I rather play as my Sangheili freely in any playlist I want and without a care in the world if people would be hating cause I have an odd hit box or whatever. It’s called adjusting your aim and such, I am not invincible to kill.

I have to agree with that. Every time Elite Slayer pops up, no one picks it and it hardly show up too. Hence the reason I play Invasion, its fun, I enjoy getting stealing Banshees, and I get to play my Elites through half of it. Though it be better if they brought Halo 3’s “it doesn’t matter what playlist” setting. Though I much rather prefer that Elites be in Halo 4 in general.

…if elites are in…does that mean more covy vehicles?
