when i saw this i was really surprised, are people really that concerned about their player appearance, after all you can’t actually see yourself in the middle of a game and it makes you a bigger target making it unfair. Though I would welcome a dinosaur here and there in matchmaking
It does make kind of a difference. In every single Halo game you can clearly see with your hands, that you are an Elite, and the Elite HUD has always been slightly different for an Elite. (In Halo 2 it was Purple, in Halo 3 and Reach it is Teal, curved, and you have a different health meter.) As well as having a different set of binoculars when you zoom in with an unscoped weapon, the sounds you make when you are getting shot/killed. It’s a different experience.
And that’s aside from fighting alongside your Sangheili teammates, having large Sangheili-themed custom games (Such as SpecOps, an Elite SWAT variation, and Honor Duels, 1v1 sword duals in an Arena etc). Which just wouldn’t be the same, or even work if you aren’t Elites.
There is also a wide variety of existing clans based solely around playing as Elites, with as close as we can get to mimicking the Sangheili rank tier/colors, having detailed meeting rooms based on areas of High Charity or various Covenant Ships in the series. And even in some cases Ceremonial events, like promoting members. Alot of these clans take Elites VERY seriously, and outside of playing Matchmaking, we enjoy several potential role-play sessions and Machinema in-game.
We can’t be Elites in Machinema, and can’t reflect our clan ranks/characters in-game without them.
There are several Spartan clans that do the same thing, either taking the role of Spartan IIs (all dressed in Mk V green), ODSTs, Marines etc, using the various armor variants available to them.
Heck, you gotta admit, you see multiple people out there wearing full ODST, Base Security, Mk V, or Mk VI because they’d rather be a Spartan II, ODST, or Marine than a Spartan III. So it really isn’t just us that care about their character appearances.
TL;DR - I can’t feel like a Zealot Elite by dressing my Spartan up in yellow.
Ok I agree Elites should be allowed in custom game settings for Machinima purposes, but matchmaking should be Spartans only imo.

It is fake considering it does not look like the hud we saw before and also that elite is a photoshop from halo wars

The more you post, the more we have something to talk about. Since we talk, the conversation stays at the top of the forums page. Inevetiably more poeple see this thread, and the thread continues to grow. While the thread cotinues to grow, 343 as more to listen too. It i obvious our side of the conversation has more supporters, so we are more likely to win. QED You are helping exactly what you are trying to stop. And i can and will report you, and bye refining our arguments we have come up with new points to counteract your one argument. And while insulting someone just proves you are running out of argument room, it does hurt you becasue it makes you look stupid.
There is nothing wrong with me; its just simple logic.

This thread is about supporting the return of the Sangheili in Halo 4 if you do not want to see them then it is better not to post.

If you say they should be in custom games, why not just have their own section in matchmaking? Why not have a playlist where you could choose which species (Human or Sangheili) you could play as? 343i want to go big? Well they really should take a look at this thread, because the people here have some great ideas.
> I didn’t read through all 12 pages of this so I don’t know if this has been mentioned or not but an article from Destructoid.com says and I quote, “The Covenant will play a role in the story as well, but they aren’t an opposing force.” So it would appear that Covenant species will appear in Halo 4 but are no longer an enemy.

I question the validity of that, given that it is second hand information. Another site have the transcript of an interview with Frankie where he pretty much says that the Covenant are enemies again.
> NG: I know you’re not going to elaborate too much but you mentioned a new enemy that will change everything. Can you talk a little more about that?

> F: It’s one of the biggest pieces of the whole picture. I will say that the familiar things will be back: there’s still going to be a Covenant presence in the universe and you’re still going to be fighting Covenant somewhere, but they’re not necessarily the greatest threat that you have to deal with in Halo 4.

> Well that’s not entirely true. If he posts his opinion that he would not want to see them return and why, then that’s fine. If someone has some rebuttal that contradicts his reasoning, that’s fine too. So long as it doesn’t get into flaming, or repetition.

It should be like halo 3 Spartans and Elites fighting together

I would prefer that full player model selection be in every playlist except the obvious ones, Invasion, SWAT, Snipers, and MLG.
Though it would be nice to see some Elite representation in SWAT, using the SpecOps gamemode.
(Motion Tracker on, shields that can only absorb 1 shot (2 shot kill), Evade, and native Poor camo, NR/Carbine start)
Or an Elite gametype in Snipers using the Alien Sniper equivalent in Halo 4 if there is one.

I too would love to see elite swat, i think that was one of the things reach should have added because it would have been a really fun game type. IMO they would have to use the carbine however, or at least make it so that the needle rifle didnt destroy after three rounds hitting one person. Elite snipers would be fun as well, as long as there was a good place to do so.
I have to say, if the humans get perks depending on the armor they wear, then why not have the elites? WHy not make them so that, because of the larger hitbox, they have more shield? They could easily be made to work.
I’ve been playing halo for a good 8 years read most of the books and comics and usually play as a spartan as feel weird and alien playing as an elite in halo 3 however if they’re done right I’d love to see them make a return to most playlists there great in invasion in reach and offer a lot more variation than simply Spartans can.
Although please don’t put brutes in halo 4 they were a poor attempt at replacing the elites and should really have never been put into the franchise so poorly t least.
343 please put sangheli’s in halo 4 multiplayer… personally im a spartan type of guy but my friend is an elite type of guy so we call are selves arby and the chief
and we play alot together and we even changed our gamertags so he has an elite name and i have my name then S015 so if you dont put elites in multiplayer then his entire clan wont be interested in halo 4 and hes apart of an elite clan called crusading spirit fleet and they have over 1000 members on there website that play halo so you will lose a huge audience of customers just because of a character selection
all im saying is if they are not in multiplayer then alot of people will be disappointed …
I think, if the elites make it to halo 4, they should have some new weapons. Aong with the plasma rifle, plasma pistol, and the energy sword, they need new weapons to make a debut… Any suggestions? I was thinking and energy stave, like the ones weilded by the Sangheili Honor Gaurds in halo 2. They would be a perfect weapon to introduce, being as we probably have a flag in halo 4, you could use that as the base and work off of it. If i recall it looked like a halbard, but with the blade being energy.

Actually we are only 40-50 members… But thanks for posting about us.
Weapons? Plasma Rifle and Energy Sword is a must. But I would love to have the Carbine return too. Focus Rifles were poorly handled in Reach, but I would rather they work on getting them right this time, than go back to the Beam Rifle, as it was basically just a Sniper Rifle with an overheat bar.
NO Plasma Repeater. Make the Plasma Rifle GOOD again.
They need to be separated. The character models dont work playing together. I remember in H3 everyone playing SWAT switched to elites for the harder back of the head headshots. That’s just stupid. I dont mind them existing but either make an elite slayer playlist or just have them in invasion.

One playlist is a poor example of them not working together well, especially when it is a spinoff playlist, and not mainstream Halo. Did everyone in Team Slayer/MLG play as an Elite? No.
Not to mention most of the “problems” came from poor character design, where they bent the Elites, instead of just scaling them down and keeping them Spartanshaped, and this one glitch in the neck, that wasn’t even in Halo 2 or Reach.
If worse comes to worst, though, like I said, no Elites in SWAT, Snipers, and MLG, as they are where almost every single complaint about Elites came from.

No, just drop the swat thing. Most true elite players don’t even like swat.
