Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> ^^this. and weve seen a few comments get edited by a moterator, so we know 343 has seen us, but does 343 care? no. why? Because most Spartan players are cry babies and whined when they saw someone with a long neck and a head that was slightly lower even though it did not effect gameplay AT ALL!!!

Complaining can be a two-way streak. By the evidence of how massive this thread is, it could eaily be said that the people supporting elites in MP is more than those who are against it.

And can it effect the overall position of elites in MP? Yes. Why? Because of how surprisingly massive this uproar is. I hate to pull the CoD card, but back during some cod event last year, mw3 was confirmed to have taken out last stand. And BF3 took out the defibyllator for medics. But the following uproars caused both features to return.

Ever since the GI was leaked there was a lot of negative feedback. Some were upset with how the elites looked while others had the “i dont care, we cant play as them anyway” attitude.

Im not saying theyre exclusion from mp will hurt overall sales. But a lot of fans will be bummed out.
and halo 4 is for the fans, isnt it?

But if 343 expects to hear me beg, theyre going to be dissapointed.

Exactly. 343i said they were trying to please all of us. Unfortuneatly, as far as we know about the elites, there will be a lot of displeased people. Many machinimas will end up staying in reach due to lack of elites, and others will just stop for good.

Unfortunately for us, we are once again waiting for confirmation from the developers, just like all the other information.

When it comes to machinimas. 343 obviously favors RvB. Too bad that doesnt help our position since rooster teeth can simply place them in as cgi like theyve been doing in seasons 8 and 9.

i never said this thread wasnt massive. I said that there are more Spartan players than elites, just go play Halo 3 and tell me what race you see more. and since they all whined about the ‘messed-up’ hitboxes, 343 decided to not put them in multiplayer. then they thought, “wait, but then the Elite players will be angry. I know! lets make a canon based reason why Elites arent in Multiplayer” and so they decided to make the storyline for MM that does not include Elites. “Thanks” 343

It still doesnt change the same fact that alot of supporters are dissapointed about how the Elites not being in multi-player. Especially since they been playable since Halo 2…Hope to gods they will at least change their mind about this.

that is just the waypoint forums. If you look at all the ways 343 can get information about what the community wants, i can garuntee you there are more people saying “good, no elites” then people saying “bring Elites back”

I wouldn’t mind Elites being in Halo 4, IF they were kept out of playlists where a different player model would throw opponents off. for example, SWAT. Elites in SWAT pissed me off to no end.

But then they dont relize the ammount of variety that the elites could do for other people. I mean machinima’s, custom games, humor and shenanigans…ect…kinda wish they could open their eyes to see the bigger picture about the elites besides the whole hitbox problem from Halo 3 and size thing.

> I wouldn’t mind Elites being in Halo 4, IF they were kept out of playlists where a different player model would throw opponents off. for example, SWAT. Elites in SWAT pissed me off to no end.

boohoo, you had to aim a little lower. is it really that hard people?

> I wouldn’t mind Elites being in Halo 4, IF they were kept out of playlists where a different player model would throw opponents off. for example, SWAT. Elites in SWAT pissed me off to no end.

All you had to do was adjust your aim a little lower. Hell, I get killed just as easily as a Sparta player also.

> All you had to do was adjust your aim a little lower. Hell, I get killed just as easily as a Sparta player also.

pretty much what i said earlier, but in a nicer tone

It could still fit into the matrix of Spartan-IV training. If you got a Holodeck for combat drills why wouldn’t you simulate enemy forces? But either way. Elites or not, I’m a Spartan to the core ready to defend humanity until I meet my end at the hands of some over-zealous, split-chin, squid-headed, xenotype.

Elites don’t even unbalance swat though. They’re like flood, aim near the top of the chest and you’ll get a headshot. My philosophy was “If its big and ugly, aim for center-mass.”

> > EDIT: to get this back on track: what possible reasons should the elites be onboard the Infinity? What purpose do they serve in a Spartan simulation Training course with peace established?
>
> Can you try to think outside the box and try to think of all the advantages that the Spartans would gain if they were to train alongside with the Sangheili? Come on, Even Veterans of war have to train recruites on the best of their tactics to one another. Even if its different species having to be teaching each other new things.

This is not about thinking outside the box. this about realizing the truth already present. We have a canon-related multiplayer environment set up for the distinguishing of Spartan IV’s as a training ground for each other. You don’t combat simulations of allies, nor do you fight with them. With post-Halo 3 we saw the arbiter and shipmaster agree on going home. With that said, five years have passed since then and from what I’ve read in the books so far, there is little to suggest the Sangheili would still be anywhere near the Infinity. Fact is, I want Elites in there, but the more and more I look at the information we already know, there is simply no reason for them to be there beyond our desire for them in it, and like this sounds, it is a testing ground for Spartan IV’s. Think of it like this:

Spartan IV training program is designed and implemented.

Spartan IV candidates are selected.

Spartan IV training begins on basic mechanics for the new suits.

Spartan IV’s train extensively to master the various elements/mechanics to be ready for simulated combat.

And now, we are at the designated time for them to combat each other in a simulation environment and find out who is greater.

You don’t introduce new enemies and whatnot till later and even then? Spartan IV Field Training, nicknamed Spartan Op’s, is also occurring. This is a developmental stage process and the Sangheili, as much as I honestly want them to be in there, simply doesn’t fit.

> We have a canon-related multiplayer environment set up for the distinguishing of Spartan IV’s as a training ground for each other.

Which is the most basic, non interesting way for 343i to make Matchmaking canonical.

> I want Elites in there, but the more and more I look at the information we already know, there is simply no reason for them to be there beyond our desire for them in it, and like this sounds, it is a testing ground for Spartan IV’s.

Which is why I am saying that is an outrageous reason for elites to be excluded. Why sacrifice communities like the Elite community and the machinima community for what could possibly be the most boring way to make matchmaking canonical? It doesn’t make sense, and that is something that surely can be changed before November 6th.

> that is something that surely can be changed before November 6th.

i hope you are right

Apparently so was Ripa… he died to a marine dude… lol. /sarcasm

But in all seriousness, I take Ripa over Thel any day of the week in 1v1 sword combat…

i agree. and thats because Ripa was sloppy and took pleasure in toying with his opponent. But Thel plowed through them, and that was all. He took pleasure in seeing how many he could kill in a short ammount of time.

How to fit the elites in multiplayer? Well, you can say that (elites being on the same side as the humans) can train along the humans, both of the species training for battle.
