I think they’ll only be appearing in campaign and the spartan/elite ops.
Come to think about Elites being in campaign, it’ll be like Halo 3 you get 2 Elites and MC who’s the 4th? Gotta be the Spartan 4. This time Co-Op live to play the Campaign instead of inviting your friends like in H3.
Half of my reasons for looking forward to Halo 4 were because of the elites… I was waiting to see how they would look. UNSC, I heard, are actually not allied with elites anymore…
But why is it that a gaming industry would make them look so buffed up, JUST SO WE LOSE THE ABILITY TO PLAY AS THEM? Come one 343i… That is completely pathetic… Elites were my favorite characters in the game… You will lose a lot of supporters if you do not add the elites back into multiplayer…

Even if you can’t play as elites, I doubt that will effect the sales.

They have the same hitbox as spartans in Halo 3, it didn’t work and ruined an entire playlist, moaning was aplenty. Have you never played Halo 3?
And even with that we’d still get horrible gametypes like Elite Slayer.

We have played plenty of Halo 3, and now we are moving onto Halo 4 where things are very much different. Get with the timeline.

Honestly, I’m all for each person getting a vote, an outlet of their opinions, etc… But this is starting to get slightly old. Maybe if someone can come forward and give a logical reason for why elites should return will probably help with this, but here’s what I’ve been reading: “I want elites back.” “Ok. Why?” “I want elites back.” with the occasional, “I had a bad experience with the elites in Halo _. I’m ok with them going.”, but from a canon standpoint, this isn’t a game to be combating elites.
The primary focus of Halo 4 is the identity of the new enemy, the possibilities surrounding said entity(s), and with regard to the elites, they are either rogue squads without good abilities/armor/anything, blah blah blah, or they are going home at the hands of the arbiter.
I understand everyone loves to play as something different, but please stop making comments that make little to no reason why 343 should bring them back. It’s most likely been noted at this time that you all want them back, now give a reason for WHY they should be brought back at the expense of the canon so carefully prepared up till now.

I agree. This thread is one of the most viewed and has a ton of posts. If they were really listening to their fans, they will include Elites in matchmaking somewhere.
If not, all of those people, which are claiming, that 343i doesn’t listen to their fanbase, are right.

I’m not a big Elite supporter, seeing as I play as a Spartan full time in Halo (unless in Invasion where I am forced to be the attacking side which can be Elites or in the case of Spire, be Spartan’s, so in which case, when I am defending)
A reason I could give is this much.
But the true reasion, number 4, is because this thread has been going on for a rather long time, hell I have made intelligently crafted threads here and there explaining points and carefully considered imaginatory theories, and yet this thread lives on.
Why?
Because Elites, as much as Spartan’s, are what make Halo. The support and love for this fine, elegant, and very honorable breed of aliens is just as vast as that of the Spartans.
The Elites bring about a regal, yet somewhat deadly religious and military zeal that our Super-Soldier SPARTAN’s can’t exactly match.
Over-all, the Elites are just as much placeholders in the Halo Universe as Spartan’s are due to Thel the Arbiter in Halo 2 and his multiplayer offspring in Halo 3.
Why can’t they just put in elites and just make them a separate playlist or something so we can atleast play as elites they look so badass in halo 4.

Nope. He seems to have fallen off the scopes lately. He only posts here every once in a while (cant blam him, this thread is growing at an unimaginable rate. Sometimes 3/4 pages in one night). I am sure the Arum is coming along just fine.

I think that may be going a tad over board… However, this is the largest unlocked thread with a purpose (There are only 2 that are large. One of them is the one with no prupose [BS angels Yo! Thread] and the other is locked).
So someone will have seen this thread by now. I am going to say its likely they will awcknoledge us some time in the near future. It may not be good news, but at this point in time we dont know.
