Thank you for affirming my point. The Arbiter was dropped as playable character from Halo 3 because he failed to garner sufficient passion and support after H2. Thank you - no sarcasm.

He was still playable as a player 2 model which makes your post very much false

Co-Op might count for you but it does not in the solo campaign. Halo is a story about Spartans in the primary instance - Reach and ODST dropped it.

And the fact that they formed an Alliance after the events of Halo 3 doesnt mean the Elites were totaly useless. Without the Arbiter, the Elites would have continued to go on their blood lust carnage against the humans, and wiped out the brutes entirely soon after.
Its not all about the Spartans that makes Halo, its the different species, tecnology, the cultures…an ancient threat that makes up for wht Halo is, an Awesome story line.

The Arbiter was most definitely a playable through out all of Halo 3’s campaign.
If you’re not counting Co-Op, then notice that the Arbiter is still in every level.
The only reason he was a secondary character was because both he and John were together the entire time.
Let’s also not forget the other two who were playable in the campaign, 'Taham and 'Sraom.
MM in Halo 2-3 also included Sangheili in all playlists.
The only major problem in MM was the hitboxes, which is easily fixed.
As much as I have played halo over the years, my original burning hatred for the elites in CE were purely due to my always being killed by them. They were always an interesting and unique enemy. When H2 gave you the ability to play a dead-to-rights elite named the arbiter, it only gave Halo that much more interesting playing style. H3 gave you the ability to play 3 different kinds of elites in Campaign along with limited customization for your own elite in MM. Reach managed to capture the sheer size and strength of the elites, with little to none customization and only being able to play as them in 2-3 MM playlists and in FF.
I prefer spartans, but watching the elites go away would be another step backwards towards evolving halo. Considering 343 could take the entire series and have it so that you can play as thel from CE to current to flesh out that part of the universe.

Fail, Halo is about much more than Spartans! So stay out of this thread. You are not welcome here.
Halo 3, and Reach’s campaigns where different not because people didn’t like the Arbiter, but because people wanted a continuous campaign that didn’t jump around. Also, the Arbiter missions were my favorite out of all of the missions in all of the games.

No hating/flamming please.
He has a right to his own opinion.
I have been an elite ever since halo 2. Hearing this information was dissappointing. Reach’s limitations on Elites was somewhat of an annoyance. I miss being able to even simply customize my elite character model to my liking. Just seems like Reach was trying to be more Spartan focused with the armory and what not, and let the creativity of the elite character models in the dust.
If the elites are going to be playable then at least give us a chance to earn new armors that are customizable either through achievements or ranks. My hopes are kinda up after seeing the 2 new armors in the gameinformer issue i got, but they need to include the elites in halo 4 or there will just be that much more of the fanbase lost.
btw how do i sigh this?

“Thank” the OP.
an ancient threat that makes up for wht Halo is? man did you read that at all before posting, what are you even talking about

you didnt read your game informer article did you, there is a picture with a lil bubble over it saying elites are not in halo 4 multiplayer, and while i respect your opinion, the fact is thats an empty threat. your still here after reach and it all but shafted elite users, at this point it’s clear none of you are going anywhere far from halo games. this includes myself despite the upseting gameplay changing upgrades being an idea i truely hate from CoD, and im sure a few other games have done it that i would hate equally for that single reason. fact is half of you already have the game preordered
and before you say im flaming i did thank the OP because I want you to have your elites. that said, look what reach did to you, and yet here we all are for round 4

Who are you talking to??? scratches head

I guess you missed the “Competitive” bit.
It didn’t say all MM, it said “Competitive” MM.
Thankfully there is a difference.
Yes I have the game pre-ordered, and if things continue as they are, it’ll be just like Reach.
I’ll play it for the story, try to rank up a little, then be done with it.
Unless I do tons of custom games, it’ll collect dust on my shelf.

Thanks for the “Thank”, lol.
I think that’s because I’m hoping we can change it…
Also please try to refrain from double or triple posting.
Just edit your previous post or wait for someone else to reply.
I did read the articles in the game informer, and found no other mentioning of ter being no elites in any of them (although I did like the description of Spartan ops)
All I found was the little bubble. So i have nothing else to go off of other than that little bit of info. Campaign wise there are probably going to be elites because in one of the articles (SPOILER ALERT) it describes about how John fights an elite right after he wakes up from cryo sleep.
> an ancient threat that makes up for wht Halo is? man did you read that at all before posting, what are you even talking about
Read the Halo books, then you might learn alot of stuff.
I’m up to speed on all books thanks, i hope we can change it too, and edit yeah gotcha
and what im pointing out was your sentence was very jumbled and confusing, an ancient threat makes up for (thats like makes up for as in makes something less of an issue by balancing out a problem) what halo is (heres whats confusing, why does anybody need to make up for what halo is? Assuming you are reffering to the halo franchise, i think it needs no making up for its pretty stellar thus far wouldn’t you agree?)
