Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Count me in.

Thanks for pointing this out

We finally Reached 100 pages and this still keeps on goin and goin and goin…I doubt going down anytime soon.

Man some people are just very passionate about playing as elites in matchmaking.

What are the chances that Elites are going to get into matchmaking now? I cannot even comprehend why 343i would remove features like this, when they’re trying to make the best game possible.

> Man some people are just very passionate about playing as elites in matchmaking.

There will be an ingame memorial in MM on launch.

> Man some people are just very passionate about playing as elites in matchmaking.

Of course we are. They are part of the canon of halo. You don’t just cut elites.

I agree. When I think of halo, I always think of elites too! They make halo Challenging. No one in their right mind in would challenge elites face on!

i know right?
Loseing them in multi-player is like taking a vital part out of
a great story. i really do not want to have them as an enemy again.

I was kinda pissed at first, but if it means more options for my Spartan than I’m fine with it. I want my Spartan to look the Reach concept art where they had a ton of options and attachments ranging from mag pouches to bandoliers to flashlights. If getting rid of Elites lets me make my Spartan that much more cool looking than it’s worth it. Plus the fact that the Covenant isn’t really a big deal to the story anymore.

Hmm I…I don’t even know what to say… I…

I have to agree with this slightly. Howver that shoudltn mean getting rid of them completely. Plus, they must be at least a decent deal seeing as how they are the first enemy we meet.

i for one would love the elties back, even at the lost of customizability…

To whoever suggested the in game memorial for the elites if they dont return: Need me to forge the map?

though I am not an elite player
i think it would be sad to exclude the sangheili
they’ve been part of the halo universe since day one
and ever since Halo 3 they’ve been a muliplayer asset
taking them away from the multiplayer would be taking a big step back on our online experience

Since, Halo 2. They first appeared in halo 2 multiplayer.

I mean I feel like they’re going to be the first enemy just to ease veteran players back into Halo. I don’t think we’ll see much of them after they blow up the FUD. And they’re ragtag pirates or scrappers by the look of it.

Elite community? So a sub-community within the Halo-community.

I’ve always thought that if you were a true Halo fan, you’d have an equal appreciation for all the elements, that make up the Halo universe.

It’s almost like being one of those Trekkie fans who learn to speak Klingon (the closest parallel I can think of).

There’s canonical reasons why the Elites in Halo Reach are more powerful than the Spartans. The downside to this, is that it makes matchmaking (Spatans vs Elites) unfair.

In Halo 3, the Spartans are on par with the Sangheili Elites, therefore it’s fair to pair them up.

Yes I do wish for them to make a return to matchmaking. However the Halo canon WILL always take priority. Which is what I love most about Halo.

But why limit to just the Sanghelli. Why not include the brutes (Jiralhanae) or other species too?

Hey guys,

First of all I’d like to say I’ve been playing Halo since the beginning. I consider Halo (especially Halo 3) as a large part of my childhood. I’ve always been an Elite player. The elites have something mysterious, an unknown species with their own traditions, a great sense of honor and a whole lot more, ready for people to discover. I think Elites are very interesting, like I said, they have their own culture while spartans… Well… They are just soldiers in the end, nothing we haven’t seen before.

Now there are a whole lot of people saying how Halo 4 multiplayer will be like CoD. That is a different discussion and I will not go there in this particular thread. All I will say is this: What makes Halo special for me is that it is not just “soldier vs soldier”, I like we have all seen before, it’s a sci-fi shooter, it takes place in a sci-fi universe where it’s not just about spartans, but also about elites.

As for the options to put them in the game. Well, when they promised a story for the multiplayer, I expected a bit more than “spartans fight each other in a simulator”. This can be an advantage for us elite players tho. If all the matches are virtual, I am sure there can be Elites as enemies, Hell, wouldn’t that even be logical? To simulate fights against Elites?

English is not my native language so I hope you could forgive any errors in my grammar.
Great thread,

Back in the day’s of 07-08 I Created a forum topic or two about the inclusion of the Jiralhanae into multiplayer. I figured logically since Sangheli were included in Halo 2 when the focus was on them, it would be only natural to include the Brute’s in Halo 3 as the focus shifted to them. Plus more playable model’s only added to the game. Never subtracted.

Alas 343i has seemingly concluded that the focus of Halo has always been on Human’s. And always should be. Alien’s have no place in the new order.
