Sangheili Civil War campaign/Thel story arc

Since 343 seems really interested in expressing the backstory through the games (sometimes too much, in the case of the Forerunner, but I digress), I wouldn’t doubt that the next game mirror’s Halo 2 by having another campaign besides just the Chief’s focusing on Thel and Half-jaw. When they left Earth, they along with the rest of the elites on Earth sought to return to Sanghelios (or at least Thel and Rtas did). The Events of The Thursday War chronicle the war that ensued and bridged a gap to the events of Halo 4. This means that if we were to have missions taking place during the war, they’d probably be in the form of flashbacks. This would:

A. Give 343 much more ease to cover a lot of different situations and environments in the war without having to link them all

B. Show what occupies a likely trauma-ridden former arbiter’s mind

Since the loyalists to the arbiter survived the conflict (and for all we know it could possibly still be ongoing), I see a perfect opportunity the make the story richer. Here we have two emotionally scarred characters (John, Thel) in probably their most worn down state yet. After the flashbacks (which don’t have to be numerous), the two story arcs would converge and we’d have the chief and the arbiter back together again, to kick some more -Yoink- (the exact circumstances regarding why, I’ve no idea).

Even if they don’t cover the events of the civil war visually and instead just opt to have Thel express some of them in dialogue, it’d be fitting to have him involved greatly in the story. We got a particularly large dose of the chief in Halo 4 and it just seems to me like the appropriate thing to do in terms of expanding the story. Besides, does anyone really want the arbiter gone for good? That’d suck.

So that’s just me. How do you think the (good) elites should be involved in this game?

Coming to you as a Sanghelli fan, I would strongly support this, but I think that it should be different than Halo 2 so it doesn’t all repeat itself again…
Halo 1/4=New threat
Halo 2= Play as Arby but still in the end have Chief steal the spotlight.

I think that he shouldn’t meet Chief soooo quickly but still have some ‘dejavu’ moments or come to the same places, but not meet each other.

I don’t expect the Elites to ever be the only main species but at the very least they should both have their shares and neither should reign dominantly. I however would like it to be Elite only.

This Elite only part also won’t happen because they confirmed that Halo Xbox One will focus on Chief again.

Yeah, that’s pretty much why I suggested they meet again.

Because that’s probably the only way he’ll be included. I mean, in a truly brilliant trilogy following a previous trilogy the second chapter would probably cut away to focus entirely on the the other important character and the events he partakes in. Immerse the player in his world, from his perspective, and finally in the last chapter the two characters would meet in a culmination of events. However, this is a game for Xbox, so that’s not going to happen, because people would complain for reasons I cannot remotely understand as that is the campaign I would much rather play in the next installment, the one about Thel and Rtas.

I would rather have it that they don’t meet in that game, but meet in the next, if you look at it, the idea of the two meeting up again in the last parts is nearly exactly the same as Halo 2, which I myself, would rather have it avoid.

I was actually kind of thinking it be the other way around, i.e. he is introduced first, but at any rate I’m not sure how well it’d work for him to be in the last game of the trilogy. That’d be a lot of ground to cover and the situation would already probably be tense for the chief and therefore more focused on him.
