The Sandtrap remake is EASILY the worst map in Halo 5. Sandtrap had it’s day and that was back in Halo 3. The remake should honestly be taken out of rotation. There are only 5 spawns in the whole game so spawn trapping is way too easy. It’s cool that the map can be remade but it just doesn’t work well with any mode.
That’s because Bungie’s H3 maps were designed around intentional limitations to effective engagement distances (random spread) on top of already more difficult weapons (projectile instead of hitscan) as well as very effective, durable vehicles. Halo 5 has neither, which is why H3 maps play like garbage in H5.

Couldn’t say it better myself…
I still love the map in Halo 3, but I’m not liking it in Halo 5. It feels cramped compared to the original.
The BR in h3 wasn’t so effective at range. The current BR, makes it so that you can engage anyone on the map from anywhere, making it feel really cramped.
It would play MUCH better with pistol starts (as would all the other BTB maps…) but kids these days gotta have their BRs
