Same maps over and over and over

What is the deal with the matchmaking maps??? It’s the same dang 2-3 maps ALL the time. I know there are way more maps than that (I’ve paid for some myself) so why is it the same map options over and over in both Team Slayer and BTB??? Ridiculous!

Agreed. Ragnarok on BTB is especially ridiculous, it’s chosen practically every game. Doesn’t help that as a map it’s so damn dull.

You are going to have to friend as many people as you can that have the DLC. It only takes one person who couldn’t be bothered, and then no one gets to play…

Or 343/Microsoft could just add maps from the DLC to some of the standard play lists. Sure it means that people without the DLC won’t be able to play in those games, but this might encourage them to buy them.

Otherwise all the map packs have been a waste of money.

Perhaps this would solve the problem as well?

The 343 maps are not as good as the Bungie maps and as a result, i think, the get boring quite quickly. They need to add more maps but it seems as if they have given up on Halo 4 and are just putting all their efforts into Halo 5

Meh. Abandon, Adrift and Haven are better than anything in Reach (and Swordbase is probably the worst 4v4 map of the franchise). Problem is, 343i made very few maps because they thought that Forge will do the rest, just like it did in Reach. However Forge in Halo 4 is awful and maps made on Forge are literally unplayable due to frame rate issues (split screen anyone?). Also even if someone bought all the DLCs (like myself), current matchmaking system makes them useless.

Right now, arena-style players have 3 good maps + 1 very mediocre, which just isn’t enough to keep people for long nowadays. Even Halo 3 had more of these, and if you remeber that CoD fans have 10 times more maps each year, you start to understand why Halo 4 died very soon.

I literally just made the same post in the Matchmaking forum

lol

Yes, I’m tired if playing the same map two to three times in a row only then to play on some other map only then to go back to the map we just played on before. There should be a fix so that whatever map wins the vote is not included in the next two rounds. Also putting the same map in twice on the same round with different game types doesn’t make it any better.

Sword Base was predictable, but I like it better than Monolith. I play a lot of BTB and I like the Reach maps WAY better than the Big Doughnut, Middle-Sized Doughnut, and Figure 8. Vortex is the only map with character at all to me…

While I feel for you, why does split-screen have to be a death knell for Forge? Put in a filter and let those of us who AREN’T playing split screen have some variety. Do you play split-screen so frequently that it is a major concern?

Its the same maps because people don’t buy the DLC maps. I hate it when people don’t get the DLC it’s cheap to buy and get them not to mention Forge Island is free. sigh Heavies is good but once that’s gone 343 should put on DLC gametype for us. It’s like Halo Reach, hard to find people with DLC.

i know they should really change the map order. like for action sack when the first map is always meta/husky raid. so that means that even though there’s an even amount of votes among 2 different maps, and the first map is one of them, its always gonna be that map. i agree with you. they need to swap it out.

When forge maps were third slot only, it was actually okay, as split screen players could out vote them easly. However when 343i let it be any slot (when they mixed together 3 gametypes on single 4v4 Slayer playlist), I stopped playing Halo 4, as 80 to 90% of time I’m playing on splitscreen. It’s very big deal for me. Forge is technologically broken to the core, and broken things should’ve been fixed or removed. Even on single screen playing on maps like Shotout is bad.
