Halo being my number one FPS make me hope that Halo 4 sells well… SO i can play a Halo game with my friends from real life!! The best selling Halo i believe was halo 2? And halo reach i cant remember how much were sold in the first week but i need friends to play with on reach
I just hope Halo 4 doesnt become my loner game again. But what do you guys think? Its gonna sell good i already know but what if it goes down from Reach?
no, best selling was H3. Halo 3 was actually the 360’s best-selling game.
but im not sure about Halo 4. at first, i would say it’ll shatter records. but many people are snobs and say “oh, its not bungie anymore, so it cant be good.” “this is an un-tested company”
It will be OVAR 9000!
000, 000!
In the first day!!
Halo 2 wasn’t the biggest selling. Halo 3 was the biggest launch in entertainment history (before MW2 broke that). Halo Reach is the only main Halo game which didn’t sell more than it’s predecessor.
And for Halo 4?
If it gets back the Halo 3 days, I’d be very surprised…
Nowadays, everyone just saves up for the next CoD game so there isn’t much hope for the gaming industry… I don’t think it will even do as well as Reach by the way things are looking.
Gaming is getting more popular. Not to mention, Halo 4 is a title that people are familiar with. As opposed to Wars, ODST, and Reach, which all felt like side-stories as opposed to main attractions.

Actually Reach sold the most in 24 hours then any other halo game. halo 3 was 170 million and reach was 220. Also Halo Reach sold more copies in 16 days then any other Halo game, and has sold more copies then its Predecessor within the same time frames of the games being released. I know some of you guys do not like Reach but atleast get your facts straight. Since I love EVERY halo game equally, I believe Halo 4 will have strong sales and again oust its Predecessors sales like every other game.
No offense, but who cares about sales? I want to see 300,000 or whatever great numbers of players online at a time that Halo 2 and 3 had. Remember in its first week Reach had very high numbers in terms of players online at time, but they vanished due to intangibles with the game.

Just for your reference as to the number amount of players…

the more sales the more people play, the more people we take away from cod, the only way halo gets back on top, and if it dusent sell well we dont get future halo games
I don’t know about you guys, but I think we’re getting Halo back! Not to say that the past 3 games never felt like Halo (Reach, ODST, Anniversary). What I mean is we’re finally expanding on the main trilogy. I’m actually very confident that 343 is going to pull this off with sheer success. Remember how Halo 3 sold $170 million in the first day? I’m expecting sales to be projected at around 250 million to 300 million, maybe even more.
That is, if 343 advertises properly. They hardly advertised at all for Anniversary, and if they were to, then I’m sure they would get far greater sales. Now, don’t get my wrong, I fully know that they made this game solely for enjoyment by diehard Halo fans, leading to the lack of advertising. But think about it this way: if they had advertised it, then they would make more money. Now, alongside talent, money is one of the things you need the most to pull of a game these days. I know you might be disagreeing with me, but it must be about the money. The entire Entertainment industry is based around money, and with video games being a key part of the Entertainment industry, the same should apply.
With more money, they could step it up a notch, making Halo 4 better by many levels (I know the game hasn’t come out yet, but I’m just imagining it). They could also bump up the marketing/advertising budget, giving a higher possibility that more players will play, just by seeing the trailer(s)/ads.
TL;DR: I expect upwards of about 250 million dollars in the first 24 hours for sales (this is Halo, it should have good sales right of the bat! :D). I also predict the marketing to be on the same level as Halo 3’s (at the ABSOLUTE least). I also hope they learn for the future on what to do when it comes to advertising.
It is Halo after all. That pretty much means it’s guaranteed good sales. Despite all the problems with Reach (Which I think are rather blown out of proportion) It’s selling the best of any Halo game (in the time frame that has gone by.) Though I understand first day sales were mainly based upon the Halo name. Just as Halo 4 likely will be, as Halo is still widely popular. Anyways… About advertising. One good thing about Halo (imo) is that they don’t advertise [a lot] or so much as other games do. Without that advertisement, they still make a lot. I mean look at Halo 3. While it did advertise some (the football game clip for example) it didn’t overly advertise. It still did good. But as it’s a Halo game, it will sell good.

I agree. Just slapping on the Halo name gives it at least $85 million in sales on the first day. And that’s not to mention every other factor that leads to people purchasing this game.
