Why?
Not because of the maps or gametypes or new skins, etc, they’re all looking really good!
Its because more often than not, someone in your games lobby will not have DLC, therefore nobody gets a chance to play on the new maps…
Same story with the Map packs, you hardly ever get a chance to play them, short of their dedicated playlists, something I doubt 343i will do for just 2 new maps…
Maybe if they released DLC for free, but had prices on skins, etc, they’d make their money that way? That way everyone could enjoy the DLC maps!
Or how about something along the lines of Halo 3 Rumble Pit, where you had to have the DLC or you didn’t get to play?
Thoughts on this, as I said, its not the maps, skins, etc themselves, its the fact that some people just will not buy the DLC…
The map pack is not even out yet and we already have a doomsday prophet. I have all the DLC and I’ve seen it come up plenty of times in matchmaking, and I’ve also played in the DLC playlists. I see no problem with how the DLC is implemented.
It’s much better than the Halo 3 system.
The main problem is the low population. They should probably also release a standard all DLC playlist that only plays DLC.
You are entirely correct, despite what fanboys will say to the contrary.
DLC does not come up often. It’s almost impossible to find DLC maps outside of the DLC playlist itself. Anyone who says otherwise is simply lying or just that extremely lucky.
If 343I does not find a way to properly incorporate DLC, it will just be a failure time after time.
What 343I should do is have DLC come up as a voting option, and kick anyone who doesn’t have the maps if the maps are voted for. This is the closest you can come to having DLC required playlists without actually having DLC required playlists.
Better yet, bring back search filters. Local, Skill, and DLC as filter options.

You are very lucky… consider me jealous.
I wish they’d just make most of the more “Premium” experience playlists require DLC. There should be no requirement on, say, Griffball, Infinity Slayer, Rumble Pit, and Infinity Big Team, but every single other playlist that would otherwise feature DLC should REALLY have a requirement.
That way if you really don’t or can’t buy the DLC, you can still play Halo, or at the very least, what Halo is at it’s core. But if you want to play the more niched gametypes, you need to financially support 343i and the development of Halo 5.

First off I semi agree with this. Some playlists should require dlc. the question is which ones? Any dlc required list will drop in population by a huge %. Secondly, I don’t know that I would call anything with Infinity in the title Halo “at it’s core”. And finally, 343 requires no financial support, they are backed by MS and H5 is probably close to being done anyway.
And while I would love to see the return of the Pit, the fact that this dlc has only two maps is highly dissapointing. 3 would have been good and 4 would have been outstanding. I don’t expect anything outstanding based on the last 10 months though.
I don’t get to play on DLC Maps because people can’t for some reason spend 800 MSP on the packs. Playing the new maps would be a refresher from all the old stuff we have to play and forge maps we are stuck with. And since people think halo 4 is dead they are not willing to spend any money on the map packs.

You do realize it is 800msp for everything in the championship bundle right? Just getting the new maps is 560msp. Which is exactly what it should be for 2 maps. If anything this is a bargain deal.

Frankie O’Connor also said that they could add new vehicles to Halo 4 but the demand from the community isn’t high enough…SMH.

I dont think halo is dead, at least not yet. I just dont think I should pay more money for a game I am partially enjoying.
Champion dlc may be an exception. The other could if something changes…

I respectfully disagree. In my opinion 98% maps are depressing to play on. They are grey, dark, grey, yellow and grey.
It’s one big reason i don’t enjoy playing Halo 4 MP that much. I hope we get much more colourful maps, maps that are designed more like they where in Halo 2, in the next installment.
But i agree on the other part, it’s much to difficult to play DLC maps.
Except you totally missed the part where you can buy the armor and the skins without buying the maps, gametype and richochet armor pack for 240 points.
I said this in another thread earlier, but it’s the same thing. There’s not much anyone can do about it at this point. Nobody buys the DLC because it never comes up, and it doesn’t come up because nobody buys it. The only thing they could really do is make DLC required in some playlists, but then those playlists would have really low populations. It’s a lose-lose situation. I think the best thing to do is make Halo 5’s DLC required from the start.

They could do what halo 3 did and that is do a day where the DLC is like Half off. Making it worth 400 MSP maybe then people might buy it.
343 got the last cent they would ever get from me when I bought Halo 4. The population has shriveled. I guarantee that they will find a way to flub this map pack like they have flubbed pretty much every aspect of halo, and majority of the remaining 30,000 population won’t buy it. Why? Because the rest of the map packs have sucked. No smart person would buy it. The DLC playlists have a high population for all of 3 days then it instantly drops to the lowest of all the game types.
7/7/13 - Bungie Day - Long Live Destiny and the PS4
Everyone would buy the DLC if it actually added something to the game.
Instead of giving the customer something in return, the devs just milk and milk and milk them. Throwing out a box with some background graphics and generic obstacles in it is just not worth buying.
Here’s how ya do it:
Remember Avalanche from H3? It was a remake (more or less, duh) and featured remodeled vehicles aaand… a HORNET!
Not the broken forge hornet, but one specifically designed for MM, missing rockets and firepower for balancing reasons.
THAT’S a reason to buy a DLC, everyone wanted to actually use a hornet in MM!
There you have it, 343, you’re welcome.
Now, get to work!
(^_^)
P.S.: No DLC4 for me.
I do agree, and a DLC playlist needs to be implemented, but honestly, I think they should just start putting the maps in rotation and, like someone said before, kick the people who don’t have them.
It’s Halo 4 and its 2013. If you are still playing this game and don’t have any of the DLC maps then you are apart of the incredibly small minority.
> The main problem is the low population. They should probably also release a standard all DLC playlist that only plays DLC.
That would make a lot of sense.

Since a lot of people are under the impression Halo 4 sucks (Partially true…) they simply won’t buy the DLC. Also remeber that not everyone preordered the limited edition…
