He’s actually not that great of a character anyway. His scripts were crap since CE and have only gotten progressively worse. All of his cool friends are dead. He was never really a leader. He just has a badass voice actor and can fight well on his own.
Unfortunately, their last attempt to replace him was a complete failure. To avoid another disaster like this, I’m guessing that when/if Chief dies, the new main player will be “you” or your customizable MP Spartan. Noble 6 wasn’t great, but we couldn’t really complain about him either.
