Please 343 release splitscreen in the campaign, so we can play together and have a fun time.
Yes we try splitscreen in multiplayer but he is not used to this style of shooter. It is not fun the situation. It Will be good first to play campaign so he learn the weapons the style and later we Will play multiplayer.
Think 343, You are loosing a posible fan for the future.

TLDR; they got splitscreen working to around 80% or so. But then decided that they needed to divert efforts and resources to other problems.
Sad but true.
Would I have preferred split screen for local co-op to play with my son, of course.
However, what I did was use the Cloud Gaming on my laptop for my account and my son used the Xbox and TV for his gameplay. And it worked great, we each had our own screen and he could enjoy the game full screen.
And to him, it isn’t that much difference of an experience I had when I was his age almost 40years ago, with the laughter and did you see that moments. The only thing is that it is difficult to “cheat” by looking at the other’s screen. 
He still plays other games co-op with friends (Lego, Minecraft, etc) but the two machines did not diminish his experience.
if the OP has done some more research about the splitscreen part he knows that 343 has compleet destroy it.
so to tell he is loosing a posible fan for the future is super old news since there have lose all a lot off fans with it all
It ruined Christmas, some family got Infinite boxed, and a Series S, only for the couple to be hit with “please invite an Xbox friend :)” and a wave of regret. No returns, and nothing to do play since she is afraid of PvP.
you can still play the campaign mode solo what is also PVE.
if you mean something like FireFight mode like in halo reach and halo 5 got then join the line for it since thats something we not know if its coming back at all in the first place.
but sadly the news about split screen Co-Op has been told all on 8 november from this year that there scrap it so asking it back is no point.
and its not only christmas it has ruined but a lot off people trust in the halo serie’s have been ruined since 8 november.
I don’t recall them ever officially stating that Splitscreen was completely dead. I think that once the game is a little more settled they plan to add it. As @Darwi said, it is about 80% done according to 343. The 20% left, I’d imagine, is bugs (that the community would freak out over if left in) and UI stuff.
The problem is that 20% probably involves as much, if not more, resources to finish than the first 80%.

first of all you know that the split screen Co-Op was a 3 a 4 year promice that there have make on the E3 back then.
if there release still split screen Co-Op then its all to late since the damage has been done all.
do you think that something like that has not make any more damage like a reputation problem between the developers and the communety.
and it has also make a big trust problem between then.
and really there are a lot off big problems this game has and only become’s more with each update.

Hence why I don’t think it’s dead and never coming. I think that we very well could see it with Season 3’s launch (maybe sooner). First though, they ought to fix the bugs that have plagued the game since launch as well as getting the live service aspect of the game moving.
I don’t think so. Though they may have taken a hit, there’s no doubt in my mind that people who want to play Splitscreen with someone will. Unfortunately, long term fans who wanted to do Splitscreen on launch will not be able to do it blind. That’s the bulk of the damage. Incoming fans (such as children who are of age) will still be able to. As the saying goes, “better late than never”.
The dev-fanbase relationship is already pretty terrible. Some in due part because of 343, some because the community has set overtly high expectations that could not be reached in the circumstances. Even if Splitscreen comes super late, they can still say that they did. Who knows, maybe they’ll through in some goodies as an apology. When MCC was broken forever, they threw in Reach and ODST to make up for it.
I believe with Forge out the door it will become much easier to start work on things. For example, we got the CGB months earlier than they predicted.
That’s up to the individual, but personally I think by the end of 2023 we’ll see a much better game.

the halo infinite has a big reputation problem that cant be restore easy any more.
the halo serie’s in general has a big trust and reputation problem thanks to the mistake’s there have make this year.
people have lost there hope for the game all and for split screen Co-OP.
sadly you need the long term fans for this game.
without then you cant get new fans for the game since its thanks to the old long term fans.

and still split screen Co-Op is one off 1 big problems the campaign has.

i not know about you but forge has also doing things compleet wrong and not has done what it has to be done.
forge is a beta version we got.
its also compleet broken look at the threads about forge that its a beta version and not a full version.
people not wane have 4 maps to forge on.
people wane use forge also on the multiplayer maps like you can do in the other halo game’s.
thats something people do not belive any more that there think more its better to scrap halo infinite compleet and release halo 7 in its place.
What was crazy to me was it had up two 4 player split screen. Really hope thay can go back to it some time in the future.
but if it come’s back in the future then you still need to fix the damage it has make and thats something there cant fix so easy any more its only becoming a hard challance for then to win then back.

Me and my brother got this game a year ago and we have been waiting for the campaign to have split screen for a year. You are probably asking yourself “why don’t they play the campaign separately?”. Me and my brother have a tradition of playing halo campaigns together we have played Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, And Halo Reach together, we didn’t play Halo 4, Halo 5, or Halo Infinite.
no and i think halo reach is also the last halo titel that has split screen Co-Op and that we never going see it any more back.
since i found a articel about the reason why split screen Co-op was scrapt in the first place and also is not coming back more at all.
