I posted this over at XBA, but thought I might be able to get a better answer here:
First off I am on Xbox One.
So just started playing the game and thought I would knock out as many achievements as I possibly could while going through my first play through. I immediately started the first mission with the Hollow and Famine skulls selected. After a few tries I finished the mission, but unfortunately no achievements popped. I checked the achievement app to make sure everything seemed to be in order and to see if the achievements would pop, but nothing happened. I went online and started up Halo Waypoint to see what was up as well, but couldn’t see anything pertaining to issues with the servers. After completing the mission a few more times with the skulls on the achievement for Skull Combo finally popped as I was idling on the mission select screen. I still have yet to get the Recruit achievement though. I also attained a gold star on the first mission and still have yet to get the Prodigy achievement either. Any idea what could be wrong with this? This is the main system I downloaded the game on to when it was being offered through the GwG program and I do not have Spartan Assault for 360.
P.S.: Also, it seems as though the achievement tracking for certain achievements such as Weapon of Choice and Distinguished Service have reset back to 0%. I have even tried going back and using the weapons again to get the percentage back up, but no dice.
So I started playing a game today and during a mission Prodigy popped. However, I’m still missing Recruit.
This is a relatively common issue with the Xbox One achievements app. As you have noticed, achievements don’t seem to be unlocking immediately upon meeting their requirements. I suggest playing through the game normally and waiting to see if the achievements unlock on their own. This could take anywhere from a few days to 6 months, although the latter seems to have been an isolated case. If your issue persists, I suggest contacting Xbox Support as you have already done:
Thank you both for your speedy replies. I guess I’ll give it a couple days and see if this thing sorts itself out with the Xbox One issues that snickerdoodle has mentioned.
It appears that the progress bars for achievements are back up, but according to Titanfall Sub Forum on Xbox Achievements it might go on and off for a bit until it is fully fixed.
Also note that any progress made towards an achievement when they were down might not carry over. But apparently if you earned an achievement while it was down it will eventually pop up when you start the game(I just had this happen to me).
It’s a very confusing thing and I’ll try to get a better explanation when more is known.
EDIT: Seems like a hard reset, at least for me, added my progress towards the Titanfall DLC achievements that I made when the achievements were down. Unless I’m blind and the progress was already there.
RyanW, thanks for the update. I see that progress I made on a Kinect Sports Rivals challenge this morning was added and my other counters are back to normal. The service status page still shows an issue, so as you say, proceed with caution.
