Why is its bullet velocity so slow? It makes it garbage at long range where its meant to be good.
Having to lead shots on PC with no RR plus the suck mouse aiming its pure trash.
(Don’t need to lead with shock rifle.)
The S7 like this feels like a trash tier battlefield sniper.
I want to see 343i devs play snipers on mouse with no RR & see how good they think it plays.
Not just mouse. It is horrible on controller too. Although it’s hard to know whether it’s the sniper or just the aiming in general that is scuffed.
It seems like most weapons got some sort of “nerf” compared to previous Halo titles. Besides the Battle Rifle that is. The S7 Sniper does feel different, but honestly I feel like I’m much better with this sniper compared to other ones.
I think the real problem is the bad hit detection and desync etc. It makes It feel like you’re missing easy shots.
Feels like there is a delay on trigger pull too
I think it’s the sniper’s zoom coupled with the slow general sensitivity.

Looking at Infinite’s line plot on the graph, it has the same top speeds from Reach, but the general sensitivity is much slower. Way too slow. This is what’s causing the sluggishness. The line plot should be nearly identical to Reach.
Either something went wrong through their set up, or they were trying something different. Regardless, that curve needs to be matching Reach or MCC.
I basically just no scope with it outside of btb, it’s risky af to scope in in ranked. Quick scopes work occasionally but sometimes it scopes in somewhere different than what you were looking at
This is probably the worst Sniper I’ve used in Halo, I physically cannot hit my shots unless I have a John Wick moment
Agreed, I find the Shock Rifle so much easier to use for whatever reason, plus you get more ammo with it.
Sniper is so hard to use on PC. It’s easier with controller to swipe + use magnetism to headshot.
PC sniper shots don’t work. I think it’s the bullet speed delay + microlatency (14ms) + de-syncy issues, but I mostly attribute it to bullet speed delay.
It’s VERY BAD.
I hate how no-scoping has bloom/random spread. Makes an already hard to use gun, just feel like crap too.
the zoom is way too high as well. there is no point for dual-zoom when you can effectively see across large scale maps with just the first (now x10) zoom. in my opinion, it should have stayed X5 and X10 zoom, not x10 and x20, as it can still be viable on both smaller and larger maps and allows you to see just enough of the area that you are not totally blind to your surroundings.
another gripe I have with the S7 is it’s reticle size. it is very small, smaller than it has been in the past. I don’t know if anyone else has had this issue, but I actually have a hard time seeing the reticle sometimes due to it’s size. It would certainly help if the reticle was upscaled to a size closer to its previous incarnations.
Could 343 simply address the horrid realism in the rate of fire on the S7 Sniper. This weapon is a precision semi automatic sniper rifle that closely resembles the Barret .50 Cal BMG. The time between shot availability is horribly long and completely inaccurate from real life. If this system were to be accurately depicted it would have a fire rate that of the banished adjusted version as well as the magazine capacity of at least 10 rounds
This is a future weapon after all.
A shooter with a Bolt Action Rifle has a faster rate of fire than this.
This attached video is a demonstration of how fast a BOLT ACTION rifle can be fire.

Another crutch is the scope glint.
If your going to introduce an element like this, please at least make it accurate. Scope glint comes from light reflecting off the magnifying glass at the end of the scope. The light must be on the side of aim/ in front of the sniper. If I am aiming with the sun at my back, scope glint does not factor into the fight (the enemy can’t see the glint for there is no sun in front of me to reflect off of my scope).
I’m attaching this video from Mint Blitz because he hits on some of my frustrations.

Just some inaccuracies that should be fixed.
Please consult people who know these weapons before putting crutches in the game.
Please fix this.
It’s not a weapon specific related thing, but they definitely need to up the maximum possible look speed and look acceleration options. Every other Halo title let’s you turn fast and this game feels insanely sluggish for players who play on high look sensitivity. There should also be an option to just straight up dissable look acceleration if you want to.
There’s only one issue with that graph and it’s the virtical look sensitivity. At max settings on Infinite, it’s more than noticeably slower than the horizontal look sensitivity.
Honestly it’s time fir Halo to let you turn your camera way faster than any of the ither Halo games. Tons of other shooters let you go higher if you want to, why not Halo too?
Speaking of Infinite’s vertical sens in particular, it’s the slowest out of all the games that have released so far.
Oh big time dude, it’s agonizing for players who play shooters at higher sensitivities.
