To my knowledge, besides the established existing characters there is the potential that Gamma Company of the Spartan IIIs are still alive. If this is true then what would they be doing currently in the UNSC? Would they have their SPI armour replaced with mjoljnir? What kind of role would they play in the newly existing Spartan IV branch??
They would be like all older Spartan units. Roled into the Spartan IV project or ONI and used as high value assets to be used against high value targets. They would get Gen 2 armour. More likely ONI would keep them to avoid attention as many of them would be in their late teens early twenties by now. So it would raise too many questions.
Jun A266 of Noble team is still kind of active but last I heard of him was that he’s basically only a recruiter now for the IVs…which ended up going…horribly lol
Surviving Spartan-III (and II) personnel were integrated into the Spartan-IV program, either as operators or as trainers, I believe.
Some III’s were rolled into the IV’s program, others were supposedly allowed to return to civilian life. The Gamma’s have apparently been divided into covert teams directly under ONI like Lopis’ Ferret team and the one Gamma who assassinated an Elite leader who’d been attacking Thel and the Brutes.

Some were but not all, some remain in their respective branches. Blue Team remained under Navy Special weapons so I’m guessing some Spartans still operate outside of Spartan Operations. We know some still work under ONI so it’s not inconceivable to suggest that some SIIIs have done the same.

Considering that Fireteam Osiris saved Blue Team and Humanity as a whole…yeah.

I was more referring to the whole: his candidates ended up either going to prison or joining the insurrection… Thing…although he still stands by his choices
Sooo…yea…

That only happened with three Spartan-IVs in total (Scruggs, Mickey, one other I think?) Out of like…a thousand, more? Overall thats pretty damn good
I will have to look up the quote specifically but I remember Osman stating that the remaining Gamma’s were going to be put into “non-combatant” roles to help “mitigate the risk.” This was during the conversation between Osman and Lopis while they were leaving Gao aboard the Owl at the end of Last Light.
This would make sense because a Gamma off their smoothers is a huge threat and liability to the UEG and the UNSC. In reality I don’t think ONI of UNSC brass want to waste the potential of the Gamma’s by turning them into paper pushers either so I assume some Gamma’s may have been rolled into the Spartan Branch while others could operate on a similar basis to Lopis’s ferret team.
