I’m not an expert on map creation, but I’m sure whoever created the map was unaware of how dark some parts of the map really are. Top and bottom of both bases you’re practically invisible from a certain distance, and there are just so many parts of the map that can easily be marked “no man’s land.” I mainly play it on Swat so I don’t have much trouble with the map, but I have noticed the couple times I played it on Slayer, the match is way more clunky and weird feeling. It may be because a lot of players don’t know how to play it well, or maybe it is just a poorly made map. Maybe time will tell.

I don’t have an issue with the lighting/dark areas in this map. Might be due to your own settings in-game or based off your TV/monitor? But I do agree about not being a fan of this map. For me it’s just the layout. It’s like, everything is both open and completely in the way lol (and because of the design, it kinda almost makes having a bottom part of the map redundant, as majority of players from my experience play on a platform or near the sniper spawn). I’d just remove the bottom of the map to make it easier to fall to your death kinda similar to Lockout. Of course I have no idea but I would like to believe I would like this map with that one small change. Otherwise, I just find it annoying in layout itself.

I agree. and would say 343 needs to increase the pool of maps, getting tired of current selection.

They said a BTB refresh is in the works for next year.

I agree with this for all of the forge slayer maps. I think the forge in h5 is amazing and I don’t mean to diss any hardcore forgers, but from what I have heard, a lot of people, including myself, don’t like the forge slayer maps. Sure they look great, but for some reason I don’t have a lot of fun playing on them. I think the only one I really enjoy is echelon, and that is actually one of my favorite maps, but the rest (refuge, fissure, russet, seclusion, etc.), are kinda unbalanced and unenjoyable.
