I started experiencing this on Monday, and it’s pretty debilitating.
Whenever I launch a game in MCC that isn’t Halo 4’s campaign or CE’s multiplayer, the game suddenly freezes with an unpleasant and extremely loud rumbling sound before completely crashing.
Prior to Monday, I’ve had no issues whatsoever and this is starting to become extremely frustrating as I cannot play H2A at all. I’m also aware of the incoming update, but I’m not certain that the issue that I’m experiencing will be fixed in the update.
So has anyone else experienced this, and is there a potential fix?

That’s just you. All my campaigns work fine except for a few times Halo 3’s campaign made me restart Halo due to a freeze. But multiplayer works perfectly fine.
If you have a disc I would say bring it back for a new one and if you have digital I would re-download because you have some corrupted data.

I have it digital, and I just finished reinstalling it. Hopefully it’ll fix it.
…Unfortunately, my reinstallation has resulted in disappointing consequences as I’ve encountered it again. However, I’ve noticed a few things:
> So far, H2C seems to work. I’ll try Halo 4’s and 3’s multiplayer in a bit (when I am home from school). I’ll see how CEA’s campaign and Halo 3’s campaign work also.
> With H2A, it only seems to occur during 3-player splitscreen when using Custom Games. 2-players works flawlessly. I have not tried 3-player splitscreen in Forge, but again, I’ll do so in a bit (6 hours) when I am home from school.
It would seem that the change log for today’s update didn’t specifically mention this particular bug, but since it spoke of “improving Splitscreen Functionality” and that this seems to only be occurring during 3-player splitscreen after I reinstalled it, I have a bit of confidence that I’ll see a fix here.

That’ is just the patch hype.
No reason to be alarmed.
The hype sound will die once you are patched.
I’ve also had this happen to me, but only in the cross-game playlists. All the campaigns work fine for me individually; but when it tries to cross load a separate game it crashes.
