Rumble Playlist? Really?

I am at a loss trying to comprehend why anybody at 343i was devoting time over the weekend to add a Rumble playlist to matchmaking.

Shouldn’t 100% of all focus be going towards fixing the party system/Roster and matchmaking itself?

Scratching my head at this.

I have been patiently sticking this out, but 343i you are dropping the ball here and the would have been population will never recover. When I see status updates on the support link like this that are so counter intuitive and that goes against all common sense, it is worth taking note publicly.

I too am on the side of Bug > new features… Lets try fixing the game before adding more things to it, does this not make sense?

It doesn’t take much effort for them to add a playlist to the hopper, especially one that was originally there before they trimmed the list down. The settings were preconfigured and it was probably as easy as turning a flag on or off. So I doubt they allocated too many resources to the task and I’m sure they’re still focusing 100% on fixing the game. But I for one have had better luck getting matches, so they’re slowly opening the playlist back up to let people play what they want. Nothing wrong with that.

it was added so people that are tired of 5v4 can have a playlist that they don’t have to worry about uneven teams

Throughout the weekend, the status updates indicated:

11/22 3:25PM: The H2A Rumble playlist will be coming online within the next few hours, and you should see it appear in your playlist lineup shortly.

11/23 1:15AM: We are running final tests on the Halo 2: Anniversary Rumble playlist, and will be integrating the playlist into the rotation as soon as possible.

11/23 10:18PM: The Halo 2: Anniversary Rumble playlist is now live.

Sounds like it was a little more complicated than flipping a switch and even releasing Rumble was problematic given the delays.

They spent all weekend on getting it to go live! That means whatever resources were allocated to this were not working on “fixing the game.”

Glad you are having an easier go at it, but I personally do not care to see any additional playlists until the ones in rotation are working flawlessly. I cannot even see what friends are online accurately in the roster and an accurate snapshot of their game lobby player count. Joining and inviting is hit or miss and thoroughly unenjoyable.

That actually makes sense. Anything to get our minds off the fact that team based matchmaking is still broke as can be. Does matchmaking work to party everyone up within a reasonable amount of time in Rumble? If I am still stuck waiting for 5-30 minutes per game, it is futile as far as I am concerned.

For the time being, and given all the issues, my added playlist of choice is GTA V…

There are many people such as myself that prefer Rumble over all other playlists. It’s the only thing that is bringing me back to the game at the moment.

Also, every single team game I played had uneven teams. With Rumble, it doesn’t matter if it’s missing 1 or 2 people.

It also will not matter if I am still waiting 5-30 minutes at a clip per game of Rumble. Is matchmaking in Rumble working faster and consistently if you back out and start a new search? I have not tried it yet.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about, so here:

> 11.23 10.18 PM Update
> The Halo 2: Anniversary Rumble playlist is now live. The playlist is currently set to 10 players max and does not feature ranking, however we’ll be modifying to 8 players max and adding ranked play once we’ve ironed out existing matchmaking issues.

> Based on community feedback we’ve received since yesterday’s update, we are bringing the Halo 2: Anniversary Rumble playlist, which features a variety of FFA game types, back into the matchmaking rotation. Our team continues to work on resolving existing matchmaking issues such as party splitting and uneven teams, and in the meantime, this playlist will offer a mix of game types that are not affected by these known issues.

They had to RUN TESTS. That is more than switching it “ON”

This is 343 fix for matchmaking “DONT PLAY WITH FRIENDS, PLAY ALONE IN RUMBLE PIT”.

Since we here at 343 can not fix multiplayer, we will try to distract you, so in the meantime, this Rumble Pit playlist will offer a mix of game types that are not affected by these known issues.

No one should need to post to the forums their NAT settings, matchmaking list, or anything like that for 343. That is horrible to ask fans to post things like that on a forum. What about the THOUSANDS of Halo gamers who do NOT come on here??? How can 343 have the guts to ask users to post all these things, its ridiculous.

**We paid money to play, not to report bugs!**I am a HUGE Halo fan since the Original Xbox. This 343 Halo release is horrible, just horrible.
