Rumble Pit should be changed to Host Pit

Whoever is host in an even slightly competitive rumble pit game can beat you in a BR battle more often than not just because of host.

But that’s been known since the game has been out. (This has been edited since people misinterpreted the original post, or didn’t understand how host works.)

I just can’t wait for dedicated servers.

Your right. Rumble pit is for bkrandyscrub#yolonoobs.

But I love it.

I kick -Yoink- in rumble pit, with or without host. Just going to have get over it, look at the bright side, with the next halo there’ll be dedicated servers.

You could say that about Reach FFA too. Also host was god in H3.

I’d say the majority of games I’ve lost in Halo 4 (all playlists) were actually due to myself or my teammates not playing well enough. Black Ops II is where ping is the actual and immediate difference between life and death, and fortunately that game has a sizable population and sensible searching algorithms for the best connection.

I agree that it’s much easier to blame everything aside from oneself, though.

Rumble Pit is wicked easy. Just back out if it’s a foreign host.

Always back out if it’s a foreign host.

I report every single one of your posts for spamming irrelevant crap.

Always. Long distance US hosts can be pretty game-changing as well, like how Orwell pulls California wifi host in every game he joins and gives everyone else a 500+ping connection.

totally

300+ ping, that’s not even bad bro. You know what’s bad, 800+ ping ala my connection.

That’s pretty sad, since none of it was actually irrelevant.

You see, this would be worth reporting, if I were the individual who could ever care for forum moderation.

A wireless router adds a wholly negligible amount of latency compared to a wired connection, just the same as a wireless controller provides a negligible amount of input latency that no perceptive person would notice nor care about.

I have all ports forwarded to my Xbox with no interference, I disable virtually all outgoing/incoming Internet traffic aside from Xbox Live, and I’ve hosted sessions for various PC games on various occasions (MW2, StarCraft, DOOM) where ping is easily monitored, and anyone from coast-to-coast could connect with 150 ping maximum. Any more is their end or their location. My internet connection is fine, Mango. Your temperament is not, and it’s stupid of you to embarrass yourself like this in front of a passive and indifferent audience who can only relate to you on the wavelength of idle whining.

Also hilarious is the hyperbolic delusion that I “pull host in every game I join”, as though the game would suddenly halt at my entrance, theatrically blackscreen, and grant me the Holiest of Host Privilege. Why would it do that? Just to give you another idiotic reason to resent me, I suppose.

Isn’t this thread unconstructive? The poll is biased. And abusing report button is bad. So if you’re doing that, then that’s a no no.

I join in progress games and still win many times.

This thread is just a thread commenting on why the host system is terrible, not much else. The poll is more of a joke.

And good for you?..winning a JIP is nice, but I doubt it was against equally skilled players.

I don’t think calling something a joke as an argument is very constructive, or pulling random made up statistics. It doesn’t comment on the subject much actually.

If you pull that one out then wouldn’t I be able to say something about your skill with not winning?

I know I am probably going to get flamed for this, and it will showcase the noob that I am…I never check for who has host. I very rarely pull it and when I do it is a surprise. I don’t check for foreign players and back out either. I work at night and play mostly during the day so it’s a given that I will play against many EU, and Mexican players. I don’t really care I just wanna play. Yes I get a little frustrated with the lag or my never getting host, but I’m definitely not going to blame that for my performance.

Oh and I wouldn’t dismiss erickybo’s skill. I wouldn’t be surprised if he dominates while running around with his LR despite the fact that Rumble Pit is a huge challenge when using that weapon.

Yes? You do understand how host works, right? After looking at your stats and CSRs, it looks like you don’t really play this game competitively, so I’m just going to assume you don’t notice the impact host has.

Thanks for the compliment dax!

I’m pretty sure this is considered stat flaming me. I’d let this one go but you should stop. I like to win. And now you’re assuming stuff about me it seems.
