Rumble Pit and Armour Lock

It has been over a year now since the release of Halo: Reach and somehow, STILL, Armour Lock manages to survive in Rumble Pit.

In a way, you can sort of justify Armour Lock being in Team Slayer since you can have your teammates ‘save’ you. However it just does not work in FFA and should be removed in the February update. It causes players to not get kills that they deserved and other players to get free kills.

Example:

> Players A, B and C are in a FFA match. Player B chooses Armour Lock as their loadout. Players A and B then begin to exchange fire. Just before Player B dies he activates Armour Lock denying Player A the kill. A few seconds later Player C comes along and kills both Players A and B.

  • Player A was denied a kill that they may have well deserved.
  • Player C got two kills with little to no effort.

The argument ‘just runaway when someone Armour Locks’ is not valid in a FFA environment as running away is not usually an option. I suggest that Armour Lock should finally get removed from Rumble Pit in the February update.

Thoughts?

Player B could just as easily popped out of armor lock right when C came, and in the midst of their firefight, picked off both A and C, earning PLAYER B two kills. The possibilities of the situations are endless, especially adding players D, E, F, G, and H into the mix, PLUS all their armor abilities.
