RUL-Enemy Lines is mission 11!

In RUL’s video, GreenSkull says that Blue Team is mission 2, we all knew this. What’s interesting is that he says that Enemy Lines is actually mission 11. This kinda took me by surprise, as it takes place on Sanghelios and thought it would be like mission 3 or 4. We all know this Campaign is going to be long, so this is interesting. I wonder if maybe Osiris heads back to Sanghelios while Blue Team heads elsewhere (Frankie accidentally said at E3 about halfway through they’ll join up). Maybe they find out something is going to happen on Sanghelios so Chief tells them to get back there and inform Infinity as well as Thel. Or maybe this Campaign is even longer and could be early on, but I doubt that. Interesting this is mission 11 and also takes place on Sanghelios, could possibly take place maybe in the latter half of the game? Have no idea where this is headed, and cannot wait!! We need this NOW!! XD

Weird. All the other sources are saying it’s 10. And that it’s half-way through the game.

Really? I’ve heard both GreenSkull and MoreConsole say it’s the 11th mission.

I heard it’s the tenth from Eurogamer and someone on Gaf. They could be wrong, and it’s only a difference of one level, which is still about halfway in, so it’s really not a big deal IMO.

It’s definitely the 10th mission, in one of the many gameplays I’ve seen they start the clip paused and on the pause menu it says “mission 10: Enemy Lines” or something… Sorry I don’t have a link you’ll either have to take my word or have a look around… I think it’s the same video that’s linked in the thread about how hunters can now bash grenades out of the way.

You’re correct.
In this video by Kinda Funny Games, it clearly states Mission: 10 // NORMAL

I don’t believe for a SECOND that the TENTH mission is only HALFWAY through the campaign. If that is the case… I will die of happiness. Stop even getting my hopes up. There’s probably like 12 or 13 missions total :stuck_out_tongue:

And this level is supposed to be half way through the campaign? Geez, 343i have really made this big

All of the sources say that mission 10 (enemy lines) is half-way (one says 2/3rd’s of the way, so at least expect 15 missions)

So we could be looking at as many as 20 playable missions.

Maybe the missions are REALLY short. They’re only allowed to show 5 mins from each right? Maybe they’ve only edited out 10 minutes…

Doubt it, in the hub thread I made, the journalist from 4GamersHQ mentioned it took him about 90 minutes total to finish both missions. Of course this could be a thing of skill vs exploration. But the 5 minute limit was because they had to cut out a lot of gaemplay as per request from 343i because spoilers are spoilers. I believe Normalmode’s gameplay is just over 7 minutes each, but they’re still heavily cut.

Though I’m excited by the prospect of a lengthy campaign as much as anyone, it’s important to keep expectations in check. Campaign length is very subjective, and the number of missions isn’t necessarily indicative of the campaign’s true size or time to completion.

For instance, at 15 missions, Halo 2 is currently the ‘longest’ Halo campaign. However, the first two ‘missions’ are the opening cutscene and a non-combat tutorial, and realistically, many of the game’s levels are artifically split into two. For instance, Delta Halo and Regret are functionally one long level, just split by a cutscene. The same is true of Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone, The Arbiter and Oracle, and so on. Ultimately, Halo 2 doesn’t really take any longer to finish than any of the other games. I have no reason to believe Halo 5 will follow this formula, but it shows that level count doesn’t always cleanly determine a campaign’s length.

I know 343 has mentioned that Halo 5 is a long game. That’s awesome, and I’m looking forward to it. However, I’ve completed every Halo campaign in about eight to ten hours on a first playthrough, and I expect Halo 5 to be similar. An extra couple hours of content would absolutely be welcome, but expecting a campaign that is significantly longer than anything that we’ve seen before simply may not be realistic.

That said, I’d love to be wrong on this one.

Feels ya. Some extra hours would be dope. Halo campaigns are always over too quickly

Since Blue Team is Mission 02, and we know Osiris’ extraction of Halsey is Mission 01, nope, there won’t be a mission dedicated to a prologue cinematic this time
