The armor fails to have that natural Halo look for me. Looks like it’s hard to see through those helmets as well. Did 343 ruin that part of Halo? I think they went a little overboard. Looks cool… But stll. What do you think?
I think they’re trying to make it look like its more advanced then previous armors and i like all but infiltrator honestly
But…I like the armour man…
I don’t like what happened to the Hazop. It looks so sad, and where are the mounted nvgs for that tactical look. Can’t really complain though, seeing as they gave us an lmg.
I honestly just can’t wait to see the new EOD helmet. I know you can see it in the book that comes with the LE, but I want to see an actual screenshot of it.
I heard someone say that there could be sensors on the parts of the helmets that look like the visor that feed back an image to the inside of the helmet. I’m sticking with that.
I sorta like it, I don’t think any of the shoulders I’ve seen so far has been a winner looking model but, we’ve only seen so little.
As long as we get the mark 6 helmet I’m fine.

ok thank god im not the only one, i dont think it looks bad, but i liked how it looked in reach, it was my favorite helmet

Yeah, that’s most logical. Relating to that, I am making armor in real life that would would have practical uses. I want to aim for the whole no-visor thing down the road of different proto-type versions of the suit. Like three or more cameras on the outside sending feed in to compensate for vision and peripheral vision on the suit.
Obviously the UNSC military isn’t making their armor out of card-stock and fiber glass with a small budget but, I’m guessing it will be something like mine.
Strangely I actually like the new armor designs…With the exception of a few
The canon reason for them to be able to see is probably sensors/cameras, a la Reach GUNGNIR. Remember that multiplayer is canonically a computer simulation for the Spartans, so the HUD you get in multiplayer probably isn’t their real HUD.
I think the biggest problem is the helmets. Heres why.
EDIT: more specifically than the helmets; the visors. the visor is what makes 80% of the helmet look good/bad, and unfortunately there are very few helmets with decent sized visors from what we’ve see. its all just unimaginably small slits and sensors blocking view. and if its not that, its a combo of 2-3 seperate visors in the weirdest positions.
For me, they didn’t ruin any of the armour. It’s 5 years in the future so I think it’s time for some drastic upgrades. Although, some of the visor placements are questionable

I think every other Halo has had better looking armor. H4 armor is just too over the top for me.
My only knock for the armor is that there’s too much “going on”. Way too many lines.
I liked the simple, yet defining characteristics of Reach’s armor suite.
Halo 4 seems to just be a garbled mess.
The armour looks just a little bit alien. And given that’s where UNSC tech is going starting with Halo 4, that’s bang on. Looks good to me.
They’ll grow on me.
At first I didn’t care for the new armor introduced back in Halo 3, but after a while I got used to them and eventually became a fan of a number of them. Now with Halo 4 we have even newer designs, and although I ain’t quite feelin a number of them, I’m sure eventually I’ll get used to them and have a few that I’ll eventually consider among my favorites.
Another thing that made the armor look ugly to me was some of 343’s fugly color choices they were using. Once I get the game I’ll be able to choose colors more appealing to me to make the armor sets look better. For me, a difference in color can make a whole lot of difference on how cool or how ugly a set of armor looks.

I’m well aware that there can be sensors, screens, neural uplinks etc. that would make these viable. Thats not the point.
The point is that its just completely ugly. I would much rather the helmets have larger visors, because they offer much better aesthetics. The armor doesn’t effect gameplay in any way, so I don’t see why we need to follow the basic rule of " more armor is better". I would much rather have these look good then follow this concept.
I can understand a few helmets like this for diversity, but it seems to me that nearly every helmet we’ve see has either a minuscule visor that is a sore sight to the eyes, full faced visors like EVA(not my favorite), or abnormally shaped ones with multiple segmented visors on a single visor.
