So where is Rtas Vadum? Is he still alive? Did he fight with or against the Arbiter? I am very confused that we didnt hear anything about him. What do you think happend with Vadum after Halo 3?
He and the supporters of the arbiter seem to be uninteresting to the point they are ignored.
We don’t know anything about his welfare or whereabouts in Kilo-5. The implications of his character, the ship that he has as well as the standing he would have in Sangheili society are all simply ignored, probably because they are too inconvenient for the new direction Halo is taking; one in which exploring new possibilities with the Covenant is off the table completely.
I wouldn’t really be surprised if he is written off as having been killed when Port Stanley destroyed those 3 Sangheili ships belonging to the Arbiter.
pretty much Mendicant lol, that or traviss didn’t research halo enough to know to vadum’s existence
Personally, I’d say don’t listen to the pessimists. I’m sure he will have some re-introduction, whether through the novels or back in-game. He’s -likely- still involved with Thel. The two have been in service with one another since at least the Halo Incident of CE.
We just haven’t seen much of Thel or his allies’ side of things yet, so there’s no telling what Rtas has been up to. Personally, I like to think he’s either been helping Thel or he’s been out chasing any San’Shyuum or Jiralhanae remnants from the Schism.
We’ll just have to see if he makes an appearance in the final Kilo-Five or not.
NOOO

I hope he isnt dead... :( I hope we will see more things about the arbiter and Rtas Vadum in the third book of the Kilo-5.
There will likely be more about Thel in the third book (Not sure about Rtas), but I don’t think any of it will be good or constructive to the lore. The previous two novels were all about the fall of Thel 'Vadam and how peace is impossible based on all these made up reasons that no one really gives two -Yoink- about. The third book is probably just more of the same.
Halo 4 focused on Jul’s forces and was primarily centered around requiem. The arbiter simply had nothing to do with requiem.
Infinity came to Requiem from Installation-03. The elites seem to have varying views on the forerunners post-covenant, so its likely the Arbiter would avoid doing anything to rile up his people.
He’s pretty much become a politician, and as a politician, doesn’t have time to go around on space adventures.
Well, I like to headcanon that he’s currently leading the bulk of the Thel’s forces against the Brutes.
I like to think he and most of the Arbiter’s supporters are off fighting in the crusades against the Brutes.
Well if he is dead he’s probably up in bro heaven having a beer with Johnson and looking down still forming their opinion of Lasky.
I hope he comes back,We cant lost another Johnson!!! I thought he would’ve got mentioned in the kilo books.
Rtas is still alive in his ship -the shadow of intent- and he’s gone “rogue” as it would seem, his ship recently shot down 3 small unsc ships without any warning, and maybe he can appear to fight/kill that one sangheili in halo wars 2 that sides with the banished, maybe be a boss to play as
He is alive and a member of the SoS (Arbiter’s Covenant). He is tasked with hunting down remaining San Shyuum. It was in one of the recent books.
