Rogue (Stability mod) should be changed

> EDIT: There was a mistake in the article that has now been fixed. The Stability mod DOES NOT improve accuracy while out of scope.

Hey everyone.

So, I’m excited to see Halo evolve and try new things, but I’m a little worried by one of the new armor mods… in this case, the Stability mod from the Rogue specialization.

One of the things that I disliked about Reach is that I felt as though I HAD to use Sprint to be able to keep up. Being able to get to weapons faster, chase down fleeing enemies, run away from losing battles… it seemed to be too good of an ability to pass up. Thus, I never really used many other Armor Abilities.

This time around, I was really hoping to truely be able to customize my playstyle without feeling like I fell into a very large disadvantage. However, I feel as though the Stability mod is going to fall into that category.

As per the description states, the Stability mod allows you to stay scoped in while being shot. In addition, your hip-fire accuracy is increased.

I am fine with the “not going out of scope” part… seems like it will be very rough when put with a player who has a Sniper Rifle, but still doable. However, this increased accuracy with other weapons just kills me.

To me, instead of it reading “You have increased accuracy with this mod”, I read “You will have decreased accuracy while using other mods”. I just cant get the idea of someone else having less recoil, more controlled bloom, etc. and me not having it. It seems almost like a MUST-HAVE mod.

Thus, I suggest that the mod be changed to simply allow you to not be shot out of scope.

Now, I know that I haven’t played the game, and I’m not sure just how much of a difference it will make, but I see some rough potential here. I just see it always being my main specialization mod, and then any time I use a different class, feeling as though my accuracy has dropped.

What do you guys think?

Before I say anything: David already clarified that the mod does NOT improve your accuracy when you are not in scope. It only prevents you from getting knocked out of scope when shot at.

I don’t think its that big of a deal. If I can aim better than him, the mod isn’t going to help him.

It’s from David Ellis’ twitter feed.

I thought that it specifically said that it had no affect with shooting from the hip…

The rogue mod ruffled my jimmies a little bit too, but I’m ok with it.

Yet another thing IGN got incorrect in the article. Thanks for the link.

> I thought that it specifically said that it had no affect with shooting from the hip…

That is correct. The Rogue mod doesn’t help make your shots become more accurate, or allow the player to spam the trigger or spray more shots on an AR with it.

Ok yeah it looks like they’ve updated the article. Good. I was worried.
