should definitely come back. If the mongoose physics are like halo 3’s again, that is. That gametype was amazing.

i prefer rocket hog over regular but both are extremely fun,never had a dull game of rocket race.

Not just as a double xp playlist, I’d like it to be permanent. Or, at least not part of multi-team where it has low odds of coming up and nobody votes for it. I suppose a weekend double xp playlist would be good enough…
All I know is I used to have tons of awesome clips where I’d score a few checkpoints by rocket-boosting past opponents. It made for very fun and intense races.
Meh I was never really a fan of bouncing around everywhere, but if it makes you guys happy then okay.

If it becomes permament it’s not so special anymore. Just like infection they should only be double exp/sp playlists IMO.

When it was a permanent playlist in halo 3 I always had something fun to fall back on if I wasn’t in the mood for trying in competitive matchmaking or I didn’t have a group to play custom games with. Then it became a weekend event, and I rarely got to play it. And then it became part of multi-team (or maybe it was part of multi-team first, I don’t remember anymore), and it was rare anyone even voted for it, and if it was picked then players usually quit. Then in reach it became the rocket hog race in multi-team, with all the same faults but even worse. Because in the original rocket race there was a factor of skill with rocket boosting that added some intense moments to the gametype, but not with warthogs.
At this point even having it back as a weekend event would be nice, but it was really awesome when it was always an option to be able to enjoy.
It’s sad. They butchered my favorite playlist in halo 3 with rocket race. And then again in reach they butchered infection by adding boundaries to all the decent spots. Why can’t I have my cake and eat it too?
