This may just be me, but I feel the SPNKR Rocket Launcher is inferior to it’s Green -Yoink- counterpart. The Rockets seem to move at a slower velocity than the more modern rockets. Anything I’m missing? Does the SPNKR compensate for this in any other way?
I find the M41 to underperform compared to the M57. Seems to have a smaller explosive radius and slower rockets. Only way it really compensates is a marginally faster rate of fire, which it actually trades for a longer reload time. Otherwise, I think the M57 is superior to the M41.
Larger splash damage…
From what I have seen the SPNKR shoots slower but reloads faster. The h5 launcher shoots faster but reloads slower
Honestly, I don’t care what the difference is… The new rocket launcher looks and sounds absolutely TERRIBLE!!! I hate using it and I hate the fact 343I felt like it needed to “update” the rockets look with there bland and generic looking rocket launcher. As the saying goes, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it” try and remember this 343I, please!!!
SPNKr for LIFE!!!
Spnkr fires slower but can lock on to air vehicles and as a faster fire rate (less splash Radius as well) halo 5 rockets shoots faster and bigger splash damage
Actually its both faster and slower. The M41 fires rockets that continue to travel at the same speed. The M57 however, launches rockets that accelerate over the course of its travel time.
The M41 is made more for infantry combat than it is for anti-vehicle combat, hence why it doesn’t have the slow acceleration like it’s H5 counterpart. The M57 can demolish a vehicles faster than a SPNKr can because it has larger splash damage and a faster reload.
Simply put, the M41 has the advantage over the M57 in infantry based combat, less splash damage means you’ll probably accidently kill yourself less, and the SPNKr just has a level of control and fluidity that the M57 doesn’t have in CQC. But the M57 is probably going to be the most devastating towards vehicles.

Which is kind of weird since canonically the M41 fires a 102mm shaped charge rocket, so it SHOULD do massive damage to vehicles and little splash damage…

So simply put, the SPNKr is beginner mode when compared to the new one? Larger splash damage takes more skill to master, whereas a smaller splash damage is easier to use than a bigger one. I’m not sure what to take as fact because everyone is saying different things about reload times and firing rates, and I will probably do some research on damage because splash damage and actual damage are different things, but for now, I just know that the M57 has more splash damage than the M41. IMO The Lean Green Machine (as I will now call it) just feels better. The LGM just feels better to use and more realistic, and more practical because this is supposed to be a Sci-Fi Military-shooter right?

Was the H5 launcher based of the Carl Gustav or SMAW?
They do look quite similar.

Nice to see you around Timmy!
I don’t think the M57 Pilum (H5 Rocket Launcher) was necessarily based off of the “Gustav,” but just based off of modern day rocket launchers.

Hi!
I’ve added another picture to my OP.
To me, it looks like a mix of both.

The “SMAW” looks like a skinnier yet still bulky version of the M41. And yes, I agree in the fact that the M57 looks like a mix of both that is if you ignore the the color design of the SMAV that has SPNKr written all over it.

It’s more like the M57 is beginner mode, you basically only need to aim in near your target and wham they’re dead. It’s just that you’ll more or less find yourself dead by your own hands more often than not.

No it’s flipped.
Doesn’t the SPUNKR shoot faster than the other one? But reloads slower as the barrels have to rotate.
It is weaker, with smaller splash and a slower velocity. But it does have a faster fire rate, for whatever that’s worth.

No, I still think the M41 is a beginner weapon because it’s practically safeguard. Pros or anyone good at the game would take a high damage weapon thats hard to use, because in the right hands it’s deadly.
I don’t even keep the SPNKR EM or the SPNKR Rocket Launcher in my req collection. I always sell them, all of them. For the same amount of req (level 5) I can pull an AD Victoriam and get a lot more done with that.
