Rocket Launcher... Meh?

So, the Halo 5 rocket launcher.

Is it just me or does it feel very, and I mean very, under powered? In older games I always wanted to get that beautiful piece of art that would get me easy four kills, but now I just see no reason in it. Whether I’ve just became completely unskilled with it I don’t know, what do you all think?

Don’t even get me started on the design! :stuck_out_tongue: Not hating on it but come on, not the prettiest sight.

I think it feels weaker because it was so ridiculously powerful in Reach and Halo 4.

I’ve only ever used it against infantry except for firing a single shot at a Legendary boss. Kills infantry well enough and it has vehicle lock-on so I’m happy with it.

the plasma caster is underpowered imo
no one wants to pick it up

This!

I am grateful you actually have to aim the bloody launchers again.

But the art design is -Yoinking!- awful. WHY CHANGE AN ICNONIC DESIGN ITS THE PLASMA RIFLE ALL OVER AGAIN STOP

Have you tried the Ad Victoriam yet? That rocket launcher is amazing!

Damage and efficiency against infantry are not the problems with this weapon, but the rocket is too damn slow! Even an old RPG is faster (in real life and in most first person shooters). Sometimes is hard to hit a Scorpion at mid range, and a good pilot can dodge the lock on missile with no effort. Maybe if the rocket had a higher velocity it would be better, although not like in Reach ou Halo 4.
(and about the design… well, it looks like a toy, or a funny and green version of the SMAW

I think since spartans are faster they can dodge it super easily

It’s because it doesn’t have the SPNKr logo on it.

SPNKr was the magical abbreviation that made the rocket launcher have it’s power.

It’s a bit slow, but I wouldn’t say it’s underpowered. I mean, Halo 2 and 3 had such high jumps that a well-timed one could let you survive a rocket with no shields.

It feels super -Yoink-. The beta had it right. They’ve now added a delay between the trigger pull and the rocket leaving; as well as reduced velocity; and also reduced the blast radius to about 60% of what a grenade is.

The speed of player moment is a big part of that. Shotgun, Sniper, Rocket, etc… lost value in Halo 5. Kind of disappointing to see power weapons reduced like this.

I’ve noticed that it feels a bit clunky compared to the SPnKR.

I think it’s a splash damage that is lower in this version of Halo.
